Heard the news over at superkaos boards. Real tragic. gonna have to look through some of my old PB mags to read about some of his antics again.

Godspeed.

Ronnie was one of the best reasons to read PB.  I saw the news on LaBusas and confimed it on MCN.

Condolences to his partner and kids.  We remember ya' Ronnie and all the battles with the Gusbuster!

Details are still pretty rare but it sounds like he was hit by a cage last Friday evening.  PB doesn't have a website but I found a story at www.motorcyclenews.com

His riding and writing style will be missed.

This was the guy with the mohawk and really thick glasses. Yeah, he was one of my fav PB riders -a real character.

Makes me think that if a guy with this kind of experience can get runned down by a cage, we can't be too careful out there.

Ronnie Smith,
Easily one of Britain's most colorful motojournalists, with a flair for riding that was just as colorful. His witty remarks will be missed, along with his ability to wring the last possible mph and lean angle out of any bike.
RIP my friend.

I know what you mean undetaker. Ron's skills were sharp enough to perform very well at the Isle of Mann, a Very dangerous track. But the most dangerous environment will always be the streets. I wonder if PB will make a tribute issue? Be well desreved i'd say.

His death makes me think twice about continuing to ride. I wonder how it happened?  I liked to read what he had to say about riding and his colorful humor.  Tragic.

That's no lie.  You can only control your own vehicle, and not the dozens of boneheads in cages around you.  They can take the best rider in the world out in a split second.  Nobody is Superman on the street.
