Yes, being on this list is a very worthy goal.
If you combine everybody that has been timed
over 200 MPH WITH a fairing; here, at Bonneville and in Europe,
there are maybe 500 people, total.
On the naked list, there might be how many, less than 100 ?
You see which is more difficult.
We found some years ago that a Hayabusa fairing
was good for about 14 MPH, at Hayabusa speeds.
So for comparisons, on Tom’s list, that would be the folks OVER 214 MPH.
So, everybody from #147 down WITH a fairing wouldn’t make the “naked” list.
All the more respect for Sliger on the Enfield,
Elrod on the Kawasaki (all motor)
and Jim Angerer on the Triumph.
All those bikes were twin engine, Altered-frame bikes.
With today’s aero rules, I don’t doubt they would
all be hitting 230 MPH………….
