Post by: tyboogie on December 01, 2007, 12:52:39 PM
Talk is going around bout if 1st gen and 2nd gen parts working with each other. What about the 08 motor swap ? Probably have to swap some electronics, and throttle bodies , but hell of bolt on upgrade tho !

So far, I *think* the consensus is buying an GenII crank and a 1397 kit is the big ticket. But t/b's, injectors, airbox and the ecu to run them is a much added expense that may not be worth it.

Ok but u can agree that a Gen II crank adds about 7 hp and thyat a 1397 kit with stock head and 2 intakes gets u to 190 - 195 hp @ rear wheel so after about $3300 maybe if u paid some one to do it for u u would have maybe @ most 5 hp more than a stock Gen II motor with a pipe.

sell your gen 1 and buy a gen 2,  probably save you some $$ over trying to swap the engine.

More than likely you will need the 08 wiring harness also
