Hi All My name is Dillon Im a new member but an old guy currently on my 5th Busa. I have had everything from a brand new on in 99 through modified, supercharger and Turbo and now I have settled down with my 2004 stelth with a few nice little mods to make her behave the way I want.
Here she is.

Hi Dillon, welcome to SH.org.
Name rings a bell? ............. Was it eggs old site? or BTTM?
I still get down to Santa Pod when able to and see the usual Busa crowd.
-
Yes it was Eggs old site, a long time ago but I still have the T shirt. Ive been milling around or lurking I think its called, don't post much but like to see whats going on.
-
Yes a long time ago. BTTM even longer.
I took a back seat in life in 2007 when I was medically retired.
I am a regular at the JR and Nuffield in Oxford, but I still ride..... just.
Good to see your still on a bugly :thumb:

:thumb: Welcome. Nice bike, I like the caliper setup. I have never seen that before. Didn't even know that was able. Nice.
-
Slick lookin' bike..............I like the bars and the pipe as well. Brakes look unique.
-
Hi Thanks the bars are stock and so are the pegs with the tops cut off, I find the flat surface more comfortable and they are a tad lower too. I had a Gen2 and the only thing I really liked about it was the brakes so I bought some adapter brackets and fitted Gen2 calipers with Bendix pads and that for me is about as good as it gets.
After five Busa's I have done the simple mods that make it a much more enjoyable ride (Brakes, Breathing and suspension) I do miss the bragging rights of the Turbo and the power but only on those rare occasions, so far I have resisted the temptation to go there again.
-
What did you do th improve the breathing? Just curious.
-
Prolly modded the Gen 1 airbox and ran short stacks.
-
I plan on ordering some short stacks this winter
-
Yes thats about it I remove the pair system do a small box mod and seal it, I prefer a BMC filter but in this one its a K&N cos it came with the bike (free). I do have some short stacks but they are not fitted. What's the advantages please I'm not really up on that and will I need to map again..
-
Short stacks offer the advantage of better/more synchronized breathing for each throttle body which translates into more mid range and top end HP.
Without all short stacks, the air has "further to go, don't ya know". At least that is my understanding. I have found that the air filter that flows the most air
is one that is not oiled and for the life of me, I cannot recall the mfg's name. All you do with this filter is remove it every othe oil change and blow it off with
your compressor. Cost was about 130 bucks. Flows about 12% more air than an oiled filter. And still catches the dirt. Someone help me out with this.
-
Interesting I know that some guys here in the UK ran test with air filters and the BMC came out tops. Also with the stacks but I thought you either gained low/mid range with all short and gained top end with all long or vice versa, I never experimented as most of my time is spent on the road and so I want a bit of both. Either way the set up I have gives me a great ride and 175rwhp and 102ft/lb torque which is plenty.
Remember over here in the Uk if you go too fast you run out of road and end up in the water. ;). Just kidding but where I am I can drive from one coast to the other in an hour.

How are the roads?
