I watched the Farrah Fawcett story last night on NBC. She is fighting for her life with colon cancer. She has been back and forth to Germany for alternative treatment. Luckily for her, because of her fame, her money can support the extraordinary and I am sure expensive laser treatment they are providing for her. Her disease has spread to her liver and even though she had to go to Germany to have it removed, it metastasized into her liver to which she had more laser treatment.
She is a fighter and even though through watching she stepped up her medications and lost her hair, she continues to document by film, she continues to FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT because she has the will, the inert desire to LIVE. She is strong in her commitment to others in appealing to the State and Government to change laws for others struggling so that THEY can be covered when reaching out to alternative countries and their medicines or methods.
As I watched thoughts flood through my mind of those around me, those I am starting to know, and those that I do not know that are fighting this horrible and seemingly unbeatable disease. I was in tears praying for their peace. It struck me as none of us know when or how our DNA or physiological make up will decide to let us down.
Never, NEVER,, forget that the mind is incredibly powerful. Just ask
Lance Armstrong or others like him that fight this good fight each and every day, no matter what the adversity!
