Finally Hit the 8's. Thanks to all.
« on: September 03, 2008, 02:40:39 PM »
Yup, Ive finally hit the 8s.  :beechug:

It was the third and last race this year with my streetlegal Hayabusa in Drachten/NL.
The weather was fine all the weekend and the track was prepared very well.

My best was a 5.788s / 129 mph (1/8 mile) and 8,830s / 161 mph (1/4 mile)

I hit the 8's six times this event. Im so happy.

Thanks to all the suzukihayabusa.org members, who have helped me out with their knowledge and parts.
(Tiger Racing, Kojak (KPS-Shop), NEM, Smithbusa, Cannadian Mike and all the rest of the board members)

Special thanks goes to „Scary-Jerry“ and the Joker Team who gave me a lot of  important instructions
and to my Pitcrew Caroline and Steve from Switzerland.

Yours, Mike

Awesome Job Mike!  It was my Pleasure.

That is another True 8 Second Street Bike here in Germany.  I don't think there are more than 2 or 3...  :thumb:

Don't forget you (and I) went to the Semi Finals also (and were eliminated)...  :D

258 mph would be great
Sorry only kph (/1,6)

@ Jerry
It was a great weekend with you and the other guys.
2 Streetbikes in the semi-finals. That was funny.
And I will never forget the run from Charly against me.
8.1s !!! Ive only seen his taillight.
 AWESOME  :bwdwn:

When Thorsten hit the 8's next time (I am sure, he will)
we will be 3 Streetbikes in the 8's in Germany.

Your "old" Multistage is great.
I drove your spring setup with a little bit more weight on the lever.

 :thumb:

My best 60' was a 1.486s
I have tried to throw the clutch at 8000 so hard I can.
But I think I have already a "streetdriver" blockade in my Head.  :?
Need more seat time.
The other problem was the track.
It was good prepared but not so good as the tracks in the US.
I saw Jerrys tire spinning several times.
My advantage was my weight of 215 (with race gear).

Thanks guys.
Running down to the 7's would be cool.
But I think it is impossible with my little MC express turbo.

The problem is:
The turbo Kit from MCXpress is the only one who is street legal in Germany. :x

All the good staff from RCC or BIG CC is not allowed on the streets.
Only option is to build a race bike just for the track :thumb:

Come to Finland next summer to race in prostreetbike class. It would be nice to get some foreign racers here.

Wheelbase max 59.8" (1520mm), turbo or NOS, foot shifting ( electronic ignition kill allowed ), lockups allowed, DOT street tires... Basically these are street legal bikes.

Best time here was 8.5x, it was zzr1400 with NOS but most of guys go 8.6-8.9sec times.

That really good numbers for 59,8" wheelbase :thumb:

I was for a lot of years in Alastaro/Finland.
Very good track and friendly people.
But it was a very long and expensive journey.
