Title: C24 C27 trouble codes....help please.....
Post by: ARH on October 25, 2003, 06:47:00 PM
Ive taken apart my whole wiring harness, only to find no breaks in wiring or anything.  I have checked the resistance and volts coming from the crank position sensor at the coupler and the ECM and they all seem to read the right numbers.  Ive switched the coils around to see if they were bad, but it always pulls c24,c27  not c25 and c26.  So the coils are ok.

Everytime I give the bike hard throttle (heavy load) it sputters and FI light flashes those two codes(c24,c27) I can't even find any info that helps whatsoever in the hayabusa manual.  Im almost ready to sell the whole damn thing.

Someone please help me, Ive looked through this entire bike, and the only thing I can think of now is a bad ECM.  Please let me know if you know of anyone who can help even, I am pulling my hair out over here with a 20K racebike that wont make a dyno pull.....

have you checked your tether switch?
I had the same problem and it ended up being my tether switch. Easily overlooked. I had a loose connection at the breakaway point.

motorhead, I unhooked the powercommander a long time ago....

Tether switch?  Your bike would crap out under load because of a faulty tether switch?

Ok, switched ECMs still getting the code, so it must be something else.  Ive taken the tape off the whole harness, and found nothing.  Checked the tether, still works fine, and all connections seem good to me.  Anyone had a problem like this before?  I just put in a set of pistons, and now Im having this problem, what the hell is going on???????  Jesus, suzuki must know something about their own shit!

Check the Crank Position sensor and it's wires and connectors

I already checked the crank position sensor and its voltages, and the resistance, everything checks out fine.  And besides, it worked perfect when I took the bike apart to put the pistons in....

yep it would crap out when The rpms came up due to vibration. It was loose where it plugs in you could wiggle it and the bike would cut out. I had been hooking the clip to myu zipper on my suit and i think it was strecthed just a little too much and caused a bad contact. I'm just trying to help I can understand your frustration.

I'm not in the league of the help you're gettin so far, but have you tried disconnecting electrical connectors and spraying with
electrical cleaner (including ECU)?

GPS OR TPS??? OR COOLANT TEMP SENSER? I think like dennis said it is a timing problem, all the above affect the map! Check them out!!  (http://images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)

Just read your post, the same thing happened to myself.
put my motor back together and the codes kept coming up, and the problem was the
crank position sensor, i had to loosen it and move it, tighten the gap up, after that she ran great.

switch it out with one you have, sometimes these things break down under a load

He wouldn't be the first that this has happened to. I think Yngve even questioned the extended RPM of a Superchips modified ECU because of it. Rule out every possible cause. Good luck!   (http://images/smiles/converted/thumb.gif)

ok so my 03 is doing the same thing i have replaced the crank sensor and the plugs coils injectors. mine only revs to 5k under load. with no load and it in gear it will rev all the way out no problem. what am i missing on this issue did it ever get fixed? im getting the same 2 codes no matter what i do. im kinda at a loss and the shops dont have a clue.

There is a "common ground" for the coils that is located in the wiring harness under the tank/seat area where the harness cross the frame.  All 4 coil grounds tie into 1 at that location. I have seen that connection (for several reasons) get "marginal" that causes all kinds of issues with the bike running at higher rpms. It seems to happen more on older Busas.  You can split the harness there and find the common connection, located inside of a clear wrap, crimp it tight and it "might" help.

i will have to try that when i get back out there. its raining cats and dogs right now and i dont want to go play in the shop. would that ground cause only the same 2 coils to keep having issues?

friend of mine is letting me use parts off of his busa and we have tried all but the tps and cpu. dont think i have actually swapped the cam sensor maybe i should try it.

GET RID OF THE TETHER ALL TOGETHER. THOSE CAN TEST JUST FINE AND STILL BE THE REASON FOR THIS. SPENT HOURS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEM ONLY TO FIND OUT THE TETHER WAS THE REASON AFTERALL.

 JUST GET RID OF IT

still have no clue what the tether switch is!

its my fault guys this post got restarted.

im haveing issues with my bike only haveing a c24 and c27 code.

have done lots and still dont know what it is. i have traded coils and injectors out.
i swaped crank sensor and i glued the tip over sensor to where it will not work.

im at the point where im thinking the injetcors arent getting the proper psi at 5k rpms. the codes only show up at 5k. i can ride all day if i stay under 5k.

When I see the term tether switch; I assume it means the added safety tether that is added to the kill switch. It's required at several racing venues.

I'm getting my dick kicked in the dirt with this one now. Switched out both cam and crank sensors, going to try the .030 trick. I thought mine was a cam degree issue, as I just rebuilt my motor, that they might have jumped a tooth. Now I doubt myself as it seems something else going on with others as well. I will check these coil common grounds. Mine is hard to start, strange throttle response (sometimes kind of hangs on to 2k on decal), breaks up around 3.5k under load. Will not do this in neutral. Crank n bearings is all I changed out. I'm going to do a compression and leakdown just to get that out of my head. Checked volts around tether, no issues. if Seb and those guys don't know, we are fucked.

My friend had this same issue for three years, we pulled the motor no less than four times checking timing. I finally convinced him to get some adjust cam sprockets pressed on the cams, I installed and degree them in 105/107 issues when away, this was a month ago...bikes running great now with no issues.

did anyone ever get a straight answer for this issue.  Im having this problem now.  I pulled the motor to freshen it up and this issue started when i installed it again.  It wont 60ft at all.  It seems like it almost cuts off and then it for about 3 sec and then it goes down the track like normal.  The mph tells me that thereis nothing wrong with the motor.  I changed the ecu, mps box, disconnected the shift light, tps, throttle bodies, injectors, and different fuel lines. the bike usually does 1.31 60ft and now it does a 2.3 60ft.

I've seen this when the intake cam is off.  Where does the rev limiter hit?
Title: Re: C24 C27 trouble codes....help please.....
Post by: BATTMAN on April 04, 2018, 09:43:26 PM
it has the stock rev limiter.  If it the intake cam was off, then it wouldnt have good mph.

Had a 99 that did this, swapped ecu's coils etc etc, finally just swapped the wirng harness and ran like new.

i had the same problem and it was the intake camshaft pin height.....

Trust me, I measured that, but definitely something to check. I wired the coils right to 1`2 volts, replaced cam sensor, swapped ecus, drove me crazy.
