well, i wanted to post pics of my bike.
i'm still trying to get used to the look of the gold wheels.
the performance gain of the light weight wheels makes everything better for me however.
:)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH MAN!!!!!!!
WOWZERS :bah:
Looking good Grecco :D
-
DAUMN!!!!! That looks awesome! So the lighter wheels make a big diference?
Great looking bike! Makes me want to clean up mine! :( :D
-
thanks for the comments.
:)
the turbo was the best performance mod on this bike.
but the lighter wheels, a very close second place in performance mods.
just the way it handles now, its a blast to ride for sure.
some people say that the lighter wheels seem to hurt top end stability (gyro effect of the wheels),
i really havent noticed any problems yet.
one thing i did notice, there is a harsher engagement when going into first gear.
the cush drive of these wheels look like small rubber bushings rather than the nice big pie looking pieces of the stock cush drive.
-
Sweeeeet!!!
-
Im lovin the bike and the wheels! Bike is awesome...Get an arm on that thing :D
-
Sweet bike almost as good as webtenders avatar LOL
-
thanks again.
i'll get an extended swingarm on it one day.
it's just a blast to ride it like the way it is.
:P

EXTREMEFUN1300, what does your HyperPro setup look like?
I bought my HyperPro in 04 so maybe the newer ones changed. (?)
-
The best yet.The gold wheels are off the hook.
-
Awesome bike, I really like the rims as well. What brand are the grips? I really like as well.
-
thanks for the compliments fellas.
sparky, hows your bike comming along?
its getting there slowly, i have my oil lines coming in and a spacer plate.
-
look nice 8)
-
Awesome bike, I really like the rims as well. What brand are the grips? I really like as well.
they are made by ProGrip.
actually they are rally bike grips. i've had them on every bike i've had.
there superbike grips always felt to "thin" to me.
(personal preference i guess)
here is a link to their site.

Thanks for information. They look like nice grips. :)
-
Thats what I call one clean looking bike. Well done.

This is the nicest Busa I have ever seen!! Hands down!!! :thumb: I like a lot :thumb:

Thats incredible...it's all in the details.
VERY NICELY DONE :thumb:
-
WOW!
I've never thought i would get compliments like this.
thank you guys for the wonderful comments.
i had the thought of vortex gold rearsets...
after some of the comments from you guys i'm wondering if i should mess with them at all.
i worry about it being "too much" if you know what i mean.
-
very nice ride Grecco, to finish it off, you need to do the side grill mod.. (meshing the fairing holes)
top job mate :thumb: :thumb:

personal preference...
but for me the rearsets would take away from the scheme
I would however add black Arata rearsets
I've had Vortex & don't really like the footpegs
otherwise they're very nice
although you will run into some difficulties-if you reverse the shifting(compared w/ other brands)
I love how you blacked out the oems!
-

thats a good idea.
those do look nice.
thanks for the advice Ksana.

Very nice job. :thumb: :thumb:
thanks RiceYa !
how are you feeling?
-
Subaru has been rocking the gold rims with great success for quite some time now. There's a black one for sale down the street from me with gold rims. Silver or Gold BBS come standard on the WRX STI. I prefer the gold, especially on the Black or Blue models.

how are you feeling?
Feeling fine, accept a little sore from my surgery. Have to go up to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN on the 22nd for 3 days to get a 2nd opinion on treating the 2 types of cancer that I still have in the liver. I know 1 of them will require another surgery  but their not sure how to treat the other type that I have.
We'll find out more towards the end of next week.....I hope.
Thanks for asking Rajat (hope I spelled that right).
-
beaquel,
i really like the wrx sti's.
a local guy had a black one with gold wheels and i liked how it looked.
originally (back in 02 i think) Motohead had a black 02se with gold oz's and i knew i wanted that look one day.
then seeing the guy with the black sti with gold wheels... that did it.
:thumb:

John, you spelled it perfectly.
:thumb: i have great respect for someone that can remember how to spell my name.
:D
keep in touch, let me know how things are going with you.
i am sure you'll be fine.
kind hearted people like yourself, those are the tough ones.
:thumb:

Sweet, I hate it when i spell someones name wrong, or worse yet call them by the wrong name.
Youv'e done an exellent job with your busa. I would be proud to call it my own, but I got that ugly one in my garage
Yours just looks quick has hell. Be safe on her my friend.
-
grecco, it makes a refrsehing change to see a great road bike which has`nt been slammed and stretched.
Yours looks more like a riders bike to me :thumb: :thumb:
-
Thank you HOS.
i really appreciate the comments.
i still love playing around in the twisties with the local squids.
there are parts on the bike to slam it however.
i did that just to play around i guess.
the last time i went to tail of the dragon, my bike was an inch higher in the rear.
but i love stock lenght and stock height turbo bikes (280hp, not the big boy stuff) :P
silly i guess but its fun.

I shortened my wheelbase, took 2 links out the chain to liven up the handling :thumb:
I know guys like to cruise in the US, but most of our roads are tight and twisty which is where the fun is 8)
-
it crossed my mind to take out two or three links but i now it may prove to be more of a dangerous ride for me.
:P
i wish i could come over to your land and play in the twisties.
:thumb:
-
very nice :thumb:

Nice looking bike, the gold wheels don't look bad. :thumb:

in my little town (15,000 or so population) there are six sportbikes that are all black (none of them busas) so i had to take a different route.
most importantly, those 5 of those 6 are stupid squids. i had to separate myself.
 :thumb:
Thanks for the compliment sparky1300r.

You Do Awesome Work :thumb:

thank you, busabill1397.

Makes me really miss my Falcon, Good lookin bike :thumb:
-
thank you stompy.
did you have a busa before?
-
Sure did, I had an 02SE. Only had it for about 3 months before it was stolen though. I never got another one because I didn't want to deal with the heartbreak again. Decided I was going to wait until I had a garage to keep it in before I got another one. I now have said garage so i will probably get another one next spring!
-
sucks yours got stolen.
good to see you are getting another one however.
:thumb:
-
I love the wheels!!!
-
Glad I followed the link to even more pic's than I had previously seen. This is an incredible motorcycle. I think it has it all, incredible performance, looks .... could rail in the curves, straights and looks killer standing still. Candy for all types of riding needs. I'm speechless.
-
thanks for the compliments fellas.
:thumb:
it means a lot to me to hear compliments about my bike knowing that all the people
that are replying to this thread have bad ass bikes themselves.
i never thought i would get this many compliments.
thanks everyone.

They look like came with the bike!
And that stealth mode switch is on my mod list :thumb:
Got so caught up in how well it flows together.
I missed some details....
-
What powder coat finish is that on your pegs? Is iit satin?

-
wat kinda wheels are those ??
-
carrozzeria vstar wheels gold anodized from Charles at Street and Track.
its amazing what a set of light weight wheels can do for performance (accelerating, handling, and braking).
:thumb:
thanks for the compliments. :)

-
WoW looks like mine but that one has a turbo :D
-
Bike looks great!! :thumb:
-
:thumb:
Thank You!
Bike still looks/runs the same
but i did install some black vortex rearsets.
much better than stock.
its nice to have the foot pegs adjustable.
-
Wow, the ride is very cool those rims are awsum..
-
stealth mode!
yeah, stealth mode is very handy.
ok pay careful attention...
i small 2 conductor toggle (it can be small because there is no load on it).
- one end of the switch goes to the ignition source (like the aux plug under right side panel)
- other side of the swith goes to a relay (terminal #85)
now you need a 5 prong automotive relay (must be 5 terminal with 85 86 87 87a and 30).
- wire from terminal of switch goes to #85.
- terminal 86 goes to chasis ground.
- terminal 30, unhook ground from headlight and taillight and put it here (lengthen them).
- terminal 87a, from here, to the ground of the taillight and headlight.
- terminal 87 is not used.
at rest the normally closed circuit keeps the headlights and taillights working normally.
when the relay is activated, it opens the circuit and takes ground away from the lighting.
very simple circuit.
but at first, it out took me quite a while to figure that out.
i wish i had somebody to ask and tell me this stuff...
the turbo timer in more involved and it requires a pulse timer relay....
get one.
http://www.amazon.com/DEI-528T-Pulse-Timer-Relay/dp/B0009IR4AC
once you get that,
ill tell you what to do.
another simple curcuit but you will need 2 more relays.
-

-
THATS NICE
-
Nice bike
-
Wow! Very very Nice!!
-
Absolutely magnificent bike. No question. :thumb: :bike: :tu:
Spot me 100 yards in the quarter mile and we might just trip the clocks at the same time. Yer fast. :thumb:
I have got to get those bar ends...............they are the nuts!!!!
Ok, no spot. We will just do a dead stop run to 150 or so. Loser buys lunch.
-
Ghost... lets just save the gas and let me buy you lunch... :P
i dont have the monster of a bike like you big boost guys have.
its quick on the straights as long as you dont mind some severe power wheelies with 1" higher in the rear and still stock length,
and its just a rush on the interstate,
but,
its at home in the twisties and just a blast to ride anywhere i wanna take it.
so when you visit tennessee, meet me at the tail of the dragon, and take my bike for a spin and you will enjoy a whole new aspect of boost.
-
Grecco,
Now yer talkin'....................that would be fun..............anyways, I am only running about 20 lbs of boost on the street with a 50/50 mix of pump and C-16. It is fast, but it is not the fastest. The long wheelbase with the McIntosh 5" over arm and the 3-degree rake make turns a chore.
My old 1998 ZX9R was great in the turns, it had Dymag Carbon Fiber wheels. Nice bike. Long gone now. :(
Dave
-
i had a zx7 way back in the college days with dymag wheels and muzzy everything (i bought it that way from an old friend) and i wish i had kept that bike. i loved the way it handled.
i do love the slammed stretched raked powerful turbo street busas and ill buy one like that one day (shoulda bought jailers when i had the opportunity :P)
im really enjoying mine the way it is. i looked into canadian mike swingarms and he made me a great deal on one (years ago) but im just too much into my backroads. i know there are tons of bikes that handle soooo much better than what i got but for some reason my bike just "fits" me...
i have been browsing around at some 1000s for daily cruising and may do something more with my bike. but who knows what the future holds.
id rather just buy your bike for the ultimate speed rush and keep mine for daily/backroad cruising. :P
-
Stunning bike
I am going to go gold accents on mine as well. I have a black silver 99. Plans for mine are Gold levers, rearsets, wheels, and decals.
Only thing i have so far is sprocket, which I love so far.
http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/forum/index.php?topic=153191.msg1495593#msg1495593
Love the wheels, i want em haha. Digging the gas cap too.... man my wallet is going to hurt more. :hys:

Thank you for the compliment. I have been told by two professional riders (one pro stock and one top fuel) that the purple and black bike is very, very, fast for a streetbike. I am humbled to own it. At 63, it is a handful. My reflexes are not as sharp as they once were. Gotta be careful.
-
Your bike puts mine to shame when it comes to looks. Awesome.
-
Motorcyles are a thing of beauty...............yours is superior, IMO.
-
oh superdave..... i disagree. your bike is a busa of my dreams.
-
That is the best lookin' turbo-busa for the street I have ever seen. Yeah, the best. :thumb:
-
Very very nice! :D :tu:
-
very nice :tu:

I've alwaysed liked this bike :tu:

Still the best bike on the board.
No offence to any one else, but that bike is the dogs bollocks !
