I am 57 years old and been riding bikes since I was 12 so I have a little experience, no tickets or any accidents. I go and try out a couple of Hayabusas today and am pretty sure I am going to up grade my 05 FJR to a new 08 BUSA. So I get home this afternoon and call my insurance agent to check on the difference in insurance cost, well I got a little bit of a surprice. I know the BUSA is a lot quicker and faster than the FJR but. Now I have good full coverage on the FJR at $195.00 a year. I new the BUSA was going to be more but not to the tune of $895.00 a year for the same coverage. That seems a little bit high to me considering everything and the amount of time we get to ride up here in northern Wisconsin. I have my insurance with Foremost now , I was wondering if there are any other insurance compamies that may have better rates on BUSA SORRY I THINK I SHOULD OF PUT THIS IN BIKE TALK

State Farm has good rates when you carry other policies with them. Mine is around $343 a year.
-
I switched to State Farm from Progressive at the beginning of this season on my 02 and saved a few hundred a year.
-
My 04 in Fla with no ticket's or accident's cost me $1231.00 from Progessive a year, State Farm Wanted $1500.00

mine about the same in ky. with state farm
-
State Farm told me they did not carry crotch rockets any more down here in Louisiana. But this was about 2 years ago. I'll be checking with them again tomorrow, I currently have Geico..... not too bad.
-
The nice part about State Farm is that you don't need additional coverage for add-ons.Just keep all of your reciepts and they will cover it!!

Alot of people think Im lying when I tell them this, Progressive quoted me $11,000.00 a year over the phone.!!! :(The lady ask me if I had a turbo and I think I accidently said yeah...
Im 24 and never been any any car or bike accidents. And I dont have a driving record.
I ended up with Nationwide: 2100.00 a year, still too much!!

I had Progressive and switched to State Farm, and they were $800 per year cheaper. You should check out State Farm, at $2100 a yr your getting screwed dude.

Royally!!
I fork out about just under $1300 a year(because of a car accident-2 yrs ago). It was about $800ish. And that includes extra coverage for alot of aftermarket parts.

x2 progressive i was 22 at the time
-
State Farm, just payed it 230.06 per/yr.
-
I learned first hand how much your rates change when you move. My rates went from $400 a year with USAA in Dayton OH to just under $1k same coverage in Houston TX. Progressive quoted me $7,200 in Ohio so I don't even want to know what it would be in Texas. State Farm was cheaper on the BUSA with a quote for $800 a year in Houston. Only problem is they wanted several hundred more for each of my vehicles so it wasn't worth switching...
-
Dayton, that's close to my neck of the woods... cap city oh10 columbus...
-
Indiana $25.11/month or $300 year is what I pay state farm with me being 32 full cov w/ $500 ded
Mike
-
Maine I'm 33 and clean record... $1306!!! Pathetic really considering I can only ride 7-8 months
-
I pay $670 a year with State Farm for full coverage on my '05 Busa and wife's '04 Katana. Down here in FL. my State Farm agent told me tickets don't matter until you have 3 or more. They base your rate on your credit score and type of bike.
-
It's all about your zip code as well. To many idiots riding around without insurance or a license here for the rates to be cheap. I guess I was lucky with how little I paid in Ohio all these years. Now it's catching up with me... :(
-
I have State Farm as well and I think it is around $290/yr.
Be careful with state farm, they are cheap for a reason, when I got my policy they told me right out there is NO personal injury protection. They may be cheaper than others, but make sure you are making comparisons based on equal coverage.
-
WOW some of them prices are insane... i have Farm Burearu and pay just under 400 dollars a yr on my 08 busa... thats 25,000/50,000 Bodily Injury coverage... .... it use to be you can only get insurance with them if you have a truck but they have since lacked on that to get customers.. i have had NO issues with the coverage...
-
$600 a year with USAA
-
Get a load of this, I just got quoted 8,300 a year for full coverage from Progressive. I have 2 tickets, but still... My rate at Geico was 1600. I took it!
Junkie
-
Over the phone Erie told me over 8,000 for full coverage!!! Ive had two vehicles with no accidents or tickets registered with them for 10 yrs!! I went to state farm and am paying around $350 for the year.
-
What kind of coverage are you getting for $350.00 and is that for a year? :?:
-
I go throught state farm myself and for my 08 full coverage and Im 24 I pay 25 dollars a month.
-
I would check your policy but when I was getting similar quotes from State Farm, that price DOES NOT provide medical coverage. If you qualify for USAA, that price does provide medical...
-
What state are you guys in, because in Florida I pay $1050 a year with 100/300 and medical and that's with a spotless driving record.
-
USAA does not cover motorcycles...
-
If you had a motorcycle policy BEFORE 2004, USAA covers motorcycles and still covers new motorcycles added. However, if you didn't have a motorcycle policy by that cut off date you have to go through Progressive now which is a joke...
-
$75 per year(liability only ),just have to keep an eye on it and hope i don't crash it myself. :thumb:
-
I carry full coverage w/ uninsured motorists and a 500/500 deductable and only pay $25 a month w/ State Farm!
-
Due to the military, I have to move every so often. In ND I was going to have to pay $29 per month. In MO I currently pay $27 per month. This is with Statefarm and carrying 100,000/300,000/100,000 full coverage. $250 comp deduct and $500 collison deduct. Hope this helps. Good luck. Progressive wanted $350 per month and Geico wanted $300 per month. I have a clean driving record also. I am 30 and married. Also have 2 other vehicles and a home owners policy with them.
-
Give GEICO a look.
-
Geico wanted $300 per month
-
Geico
-
Geico wanted $300 per month
Yeah, No shit!!
-
27 years old State Farm 1100 a year full coverage
-
Yeah I think they just reach into a hat and draw out a number. State Farm wrote out my declaration page for $298 a month for full coverage on a 05 hayabusa and I have a 100% clean record. My friend who lives 30 miles down the road is 22 years old has had prob 4 wrecks and 20 tickets which qualifies him for high risk insurance. He goes to the same place gets insured on a 07 GSXR 1000 with 5K in mods and pays $145 a month for full coverage. Go freakin figure
-
I moved from Oregon to Texas with the same bike and same coverage . My cost doubled. The funny part is I rode faster and 3 times as much in Oregon. There should be some baseline that all companies should have to follow . The variation is ridiculous.
-
For you Florida peeps, you might want to try here.......http://www.atlassinsurancecocoa.com/motorcycle_insurance/
The good news, they can get insurance at a real price.
The bad news, price depends on 2 things, zip code and Beacon Score (credit score). If you're young with little and/or bad credit history it'll cost no matter who you get.
