The purpose of this list:
1. To recognize individual LSR riders for having the passion/obsession and stamina to achieve 200mph on pavement.
2. To energize those people to go even faster by making it easy to see how close their competition is.
3. To encourage LSR folk to come here, SH.org, and share their experiences so we can learn from them.
Please post your updates, and I will incorporate your achievement!

I'll get you in the morning Mike. Congrats on the new speed!

Anyone else from Mojave?
-
I had heard from Scott that Shane San Miguel had went 212 something, I can't personally confirm the 212 but I did see him go 209 and change for sure. The results aren't posted on MKM's website yet so I can't say what the exact speeds were.
Thanks for keeping the list, it is one of the few "good" lists I'm on.
-
what was Shane running?
-
He had a white 06 with a Muzzy pipe, I didn't get much of a chance to talk to him so I don't know what was under the hood.

Just wanted to know if you could update me on the Standing mile, over 200 list as I have achieved a new personal best of 241.9 mph at Elvington, UK on 17 May 2014. :D
Also achieved the British National Land Speed Record of 233.2mph after combined standing mile runs in both directions within the hour on the airfield on the same day. Previous record was 231mph.
Bike is running fantastic thanks to the hubby. :tu: Looking forward to improving that PB 8)
Cheers Becci x

Congratulations Becci. Outstanding achievement.

Thanks Karl, yes there is couple of your old parts in use.
I am using E85 for fuel and its from nearest station, i can ride it adequate distances, tank is big enough and no temperature problems, cooling is integrated water chargecooler. Well, its not very convenient, using hard seat, didnt have mirrors on and tail light fell off on the last run :)
-
What you mean to say Mika is you ripped the tail light out by bottoming out the rear when you launched so hard 8)
It was great to see you over again and i hope you enjoy polishing last years trophies :tu:

Would it be possible please to add a legend/key at the bottom of the list for the locations/tracks?

Anyone know, the best time of the passage of one mile for motorcycles?
-
Do you mean the fastest speed? Bill Warner 296mph.
-
no, I mean best time, in sec.

Time in the mile would never be measured because we do not use start lights in the UK and I expect USA.
-
Ken you are correct. No starting lights.

You could youtube some videos and put a stop watch on them to get a rough idea?

Ryan, would you put Brenda's 227.7 in please. Thanks

Ed Pertozzi 245.694 mph
-
Bumped my mile up to 207.8 and 1st time mile and half at 212.8
Thank you
-
no, I mean best time, in sec.
This is a pretty good question !
I think I remember from Data at Goliad in 2004, when I
went 251 mph, that the 1 mile was covered in 23 seconds.
I took a look at this video by Bill Warner at the same track,
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bill+warner+texas
and used the stop-action to find some rough numbers:
1) Starts at about (~) :36 seconds.
2) 0-60 mph ~ 4 seconds (not that quick)
3) 1-100 mph ~ 6 seconds (NOW getting quicker)
4) 0-150 MPH ~ 9 seconds
5) 0-200 mph ~ 12 seconds
6) 0-250 MPH ~ 18 seconds
7) 0-275 MPH ~ 22 seconds, begin shutdown
Another Bill Warner video in Texas,
but another track:
This does NOT end well......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2j68kptHqU
1) Bill begins to move at about (~) 56 seconds by the on-board timer.
2) 0-60 mph ~ 6 seconds
3) 0-100 MPH ~ 9 seconds
4) 0-150 mph ~ 13 seconds
5) 0-200 mph ~ 15 seconds
6) 0-250 mph ~ 21 seconds
7) 25 seconds - the first bad thing starts.....
hits 260 mph, slows, later things go VERY wrong....
* * * *
You could "rough guess" that on Bill's 300+ mph
run at Loring, that the elapsed time
might be about 20 seconds.
21-22 seconds for 275 MPH,
23 seconds for 250 mph and so on.
Most of the "fast" guys have data that tells them
good elapsed times from 1st movement to "throttle chop"
A few have integrated GPS, and can
"find" the mile - or + a few feet.

Name, here the speed was run, speed to the 1/100th.
Such as Fred Vance, Loring, 325.25..
HAHA I can dream cant I. :hys:
Fred: You , as usual, have a good point.
It would seem that if a name and speed
are to be included in “a list,” the minimum
required information would be as you suggest.
However, I think that most of the “top speed lists”
on this website, with the exception of Dean’s
excellent naked listing, is basically “self serve.”
That is:
Somebody envisions a list and starts that list.
The original poster (OP) loses interest after a while,
and instead or “searching out” people to add to the list,
the OP lets people “ sign up” for the list by just
“mailing in” a suggestion, either on their
own behalf, or for a friend.
-
In “self serve,” there is little effort made to “reach out” to the
various LSR organizations to search their published
results to find people to add to the list – even if the
racers to be included are unaware of the
list to which they could be added.
The end result is a “list” that is both
non-inclusive and incomplete.
The result is a list that is basically “self serve.”
If you want yourself or somebody else on the list,
you just “post.” The “supervisor” of the post does
little or no research of confirmation of the
correctness or completeness of the list.
-
A few days ago, while searching for information
to actively include in my own, personal lists, I
visited the sites for the English results. I also
reviewed what the Mojave, Texas and Loring
sites had listed at “certified speeds.” I found a
number of people that WERE NOT included
in this site’s 1.0 mile postings.
Is it somehow MY responsibility, once I
have identified the racers, and their speeds
to supply ALL the information for inclusion ?
I don’t keep THAT list, so not my job
-
I then posted all these names and certified speeds
to the 1.0 mile list, but see they
have not all been included.
Should these brave racers, who risk
a lot by going over 200 mph,
be included in the listings, and be forever
remembered for their accomplishments ?
I think yes !
Should these racers be the primary movers in
establishing their position ON these lists ?
I suggest not.
They did the “heavy lifting;” so why is
they have to “find the list ?”
What if they have passed away,
and cannot speak for themselves ?
-
Dean’s NAKED list is the best on this Site,
after at least three (3) half-baked attempts by others.
Dean searches 60 years of LSRS history to
find and recover those important names and speeds,
determines their accuracy, and posts the results.
As a good scholar, Dean will pursue the integrity of “the List”
in the coming years, and keep it up to date.
It will be a resource for all students of LSR history,
and a credit to this site. It will be a continuing
satisfaction to Dean that he is “giving back”
to those that have helped him in the past,
and will appreciate his good work in the future.
We will all be the better for it.

My pleasure !
More boost (& more risk) for 220 mph,
and that would be pretty stout !
If you are near, LORING would be a great place
for you to "run the table." in the 750cc blown classes.
When you run out of stuff to do in the 750 class,
sleeve the engine down to 650cc.
You will make less power, but the engine will last longer.
In relation to the engine size,
you will have a big turbo,
ig valves, and big plumbing.
Much cheaper than building a 1,000cc........

Hi Ryan,
Can you add my new speed to the list please.
I managed quite a few runs over 240 mph with a best of 249.738 at the recent
Elvington UK British national speed weekend 16th 17th May.
A bit hairy with the gusting winds and a standard swingarm!

List is updated with what info I have. I need the tenths for Jim H. and Kim K from Colorado this weekend. Right now they are just .000
The Colorado mile is indicated on the list by the letters COL.
Anyone that I missed please get me your info and I'll get it added to the list.
Thanks.

Thanks Ryan
Kim K was 207.1, will get Jim H to chime in with his
Superman Jim Cole ran somewhere in the 205 range
Tracy was the 208-209 mph H2r guy
probably a couple more
-
214 spraying at high altitude - WTFG!!!!
-
Not that it is going to move him up the list since he has gone faster at Mojave but Tom Krause ran 211.5 on his N/A Gen I ZX-14 with stock body work at Colorado. IMO pretty good at that D/A.

Tom is da man!

Fabulous start to the season !
This just in from Wilmington
Ransom Holbrook = 244.2997 mph
NO TURBO, just nitrous !
Fast time of the meet,
Fast time of the year.
Beat all the cars......
That puts him on the World's Fastest Riders
List in about 45 place.
(MOST worthy for a first-effort to make
the list in the mile with NO TURBO !)
THREE big moves on the world's fastest list
of fifty, and it's only the beginning of May !
Also moves him up from 35th on this list to 26th.
NOT BAD to jump nine (9) spots with
one run when you are nitrous-only !
-
Where is the "fast 50" list? Is it the 50 fastest riders taken from the tops of all the lists here? Or the 50 fastest passes made? All sit-on? Or including streamliners? Cool!
-

Cool!
1) The list is not on this web site
2) Top 50 rider's all time best, anywhere,
anytime, any track, and contest
( 1/4, mile, 7 miles, etc)
3) all sit-on
4) no streamliners

Hussain moves into the top 10! That's big. :tu:
Looking at the list now it looks like you have to go almost 250 if you even want to break into the top 20!!
I'm sure I don't have everyone up to date from Loring this weekend. Please let me know and I will add you.

The time slip says YOU were
riding the bike at 261.114mph
WHO was riding the bike ?
YOU or HAJRI ?
-
This is my new speed with my black street bike.
Mk was team name only.
I am having trouble understanding this timing slip.
The Run-Log does not show that the 1.5 mile was a 266, but a 142.
Where did this 266 suddenly come from ?
Dean's record from six (66) years ago is:
APS/BG-3000/4---261.114---266.919---
entry 1110---DEAN SABATINELLI---SCOTT GUTHRIE RACING---8/10
If your time slip is correct, you would have TIED
(how rare is that --. to the 0.001 mph)
our 2010 record, and beaten the 1.5 mile mark.
And yet, there is NO NEW 266 record listed for either of you.
What's up here.
What are the chances on ONE (1) run of
1) Loring having the wrong rider.
2) Having the wrong 1.5 mile time.
3) TOTALLY MISSING a 266 run.
4) totally missing 266 record

OK, I may be being too hasty on part of this:
Since the 261.114 was the EXISTING record,
than traditionally there would have NOT been
a new record established since for many
years the LSR gods have said "no ties."
Since the bike shut off to a 142,
than Dean's EXISTING RECORD still stands.
I guess my only substantial question
is WHO was riding the bike........

If you read my previous post, I said that name on the ticket is a friend of mine. Rashid rode MY BIKE and made the record using MY BIKE. Go ahead and put it in his name but I'm just saying that it was with my bike.

Yes, sorted out.............
It's interesting that we can establish the SPEED
to the 0.001mph, and the time of the run
to 0.001 seconds, and the day exactly,
and the displacement to the 0.1cc.
But it's HARD to figure out WHO was riding the bike.

Thanks again scott g for your great words.
It was a great experience , especially that it is the first visit to the United States and participate loring mile event.
Because of my poor English lang and can not get the right meaning Some of the racers did not take a good impression of me. really sorry for that.
in that day the wind was strong but i was lucky and did 261 mph in 1 mile and i forget to continue 1.1\2.
I plan to come back next year with my half mile world record 230 mph turbo bike to participate loring mile event or to race for Ronnie Mitchell on drag race pro street class.
Big thanks to my friend Hussein and my team MK Racing Qatar.

I noticed other thing, Jack Frost is at 5th place, and also 18th, which is Woodbridge track record, i think it should be 17.1

BTW, this is an electric conversion. As far as I know it's the first street-legal EV of any sort with stock bodywork to exceed 200 mph in the standing start mile.

thats a great question! it looks like some people got 2 or more places on the list and others only get their best....
the old 13.1 was this:

getting back to actual mile events... is there not a rider in the UK named Phil on a bigcc bike that went 270+? or was this a different distance?
-
Yes !
-
Phil Wood hit 271.821mph for flying 1/4 mile on a Suzuki Hayabusa Turbo at the recent Straightliners Elvington land speed event.
It is 1547cc engine which produces 1000+bhp
-
Wicked !
-
so how about a mile track? standing start. not a flying something?
-
Phil`s record for standing mile for that bike is 259.8mph , which is pretty good when it has stock fairings.
The flying quarter was average speed, he must have been very fast coming to the second beams, nobody knows how fast, its a bit odd way of measuring.
-
Phil is a skilled rider, in my opinion, hes been drag racing for years.
At the previous event in august 2018 he ran 258.545mph , and i wanted to hit similar numbers, then i had a wobble on my best run and had to abort, i went to talk about it with Phil, he said he usually leans back a bit and rides the wobble away, i would not dare to try that :D
-
"Riding out" a severe wobble is a brave thing to do !
In the industry, there seems to be no recommended
procedure to mitigate a wobble while under way,
and "lay" answers are contradictory........
Most manufacturers still deny that wobbles can happen to
THEIR bikes, and yet fit "steering stabilizers" to many models.
My direct experience - at speeds up to over 250mph - is
that wobbles can occur unexpectedly.
Part of my response beforehand is to fit an adjustable
steering damper in such a way that I can adjust the damper
with my left hand while underway,
while holding the throttle open with my right hand......
Also brave................

Can you please update my standing mile mph.

Max Biaggi, Roman Emperor and oft-thought rival to Valentino Rossi,
also of Italy, has established a electric 2-wheel speed record over 283mph
at the Space Shuttle landing strip at Cape Kennedy Space Center this week.
The info on the 283.182 mph Biaggi speed is
up on the FIM web site.
That would be good for 5th place on this list.
This officially makes Biaggi considerably FASTER
than Rossi on lists of official top speeds.
If this was done from a one-mile start,
this would jump Biaggi to 2nd on the list.
-
Voxan is making more information available.
They now tell us:
"Gildo Pastor’s team had a number of other world records in their sights. After these six days of attempts, the final record tally is as follows:
Under 300 kg class
– 1 mile, flying start, partially streamlined : 454 km/h (282 mph)"
Does this mean a one mile time trap, with room to accelerate ?
-
Good question: it sounds like they averaged speed over 1 mile but ? If these were FIM records then maybe that's the case. The runway is listed as 15,000' in length with an additional 1,000' at each end but that motorcycle apparently does not use a front brake. I have a hard time believing they could generate those speeds in that distance and still get stopped. Plus they don't make enough power to accelerate to those speeds in that distance. We need more detail!
-
"Carefully Worded Press Releases" stir positive emotions amoungst the belivers,,
However,,
Have just perused the FIM Land Speed World Records Regulations, and have discovered many points of conjecture (too many to list here) regarding Voxans claims,,
Note :- Previous and Recent claimed FIM Records, although shown in the Official FIM WR Listings, are yet to be "Ratified"(under FIM stipulation, their World Records cannot be claimed until Ratified), which, unfortunately, leads one to question the "Validity" of Voxans claims,,
-
The purpose of this list:
