There will be no 2009 B-King in the US. Those of us that have them will have a fairly rare bike for sure!  :thumb:

Is that confirmed? Gone for good, or just for a year?

Yamaha did the same thing in 1987 with the V-Max. Maybe they had too many 85-86 models leftover on showroom floors?
Naked bikes/Streetfighters for some reason have not sold well in US, compared to Europe.
Too many image buyers over here

Too many still on the floor. It would be just a color change anyways. It was a new model last year.

There were no left over Vmaxs in 85/86, all were sold.  Problem was with law makers ,insurance co, or EPA.  I believe they did not make any WEE motors for the 87 year, all were detuned and sold outside of the USA.    87 is one of the few years I have not owned (others, 05, 06, 07)

I think the B-King would have done alot better in sales if they would have came out with it a few years after the 01 Cocept.
Suzuki waited too long, the economy went to shit. It amazes me how good the B-K is, but I could not stand the way the production model looked. After changing the exhaust, adding a flyscreen and removing the mirrors, pass pegs it completely transformed the look closer to the original concept  :thumb:   Wildbro, that 09 V-Max is pretty sweet, too pricey thou.
Ive owned a 85,93 V-Max and the B-K is kinda what I was thinking the Max should have evolved too. (ie chain drive, inverted forks, six speed) Yamaha did a kickass job on the engine, looks 8)

didnt read the replies so it may already be answered but for 09 the B-King will only be available in Europe. I had high hopes for it, check the one we did with a 99 busa paint theme.

I'm disappointed, after seeing what my uncles turned into I would really like one, but I just can't afford it for a few years, so maybe they'll bring it back by the time I can afford one.  But I suspect with global warming becoming bigger and bigger in congress that large exhaust may be here to stay.

I'll just wait and see what happens in the next few years.

I had one for two weeks and wish I had it back. lowerd front and rear and bar end mirrors really change the looks of the b king. and it's a blast to ride.

Latest mag has it running 10.13 @ 139 so we know it's strong in 100% stock form.

Beat the VMax at 10.43 @ 137 (not bad for 700lb bike!)...

Agree on image buyers or the factory's take on what they decide to import . Suzuki sells that cool standard model Bandit 1250 everywhere else but N America and it's a great bike . Costs to much to convert a N American "S" model to the real deal STD or i'd already have done it. They are a hoot to ride on the backroads .

The Yamaha MT-01 would probably be another cult like bike and Yamaha sells groovy , candy like engine parts for it - even a bikini fairing but N Americans will never see one.

Its a real shame if Suzuki decide to stop the B.King in 09 for the US  :(
Some great bikes coming out of the US.

Any reasons why ?? Sales figures ? Or is it the old emissions thing again ?

You didn't get the GSX1400 naked bike either.

Doesnt make sense to stop the big naked retro bikes over there.

You guys have some of the lowest speed limits compared to Europe ?
A naked bike is ideal rather than the all out top speed bikes for the street.

when i'm on the bike...more often than not if the weather is good they get treated merely as "suggestions" rather than "limits"

I feel its my duty to crack the ton any time I get the bike out.

We had some road sensors near a bike meet a few years ago used to log the speeds of vehicles passing over the loop.
So a few of us tried very hard to raise the average speed recorded.
Its like... they have these big flashing signs to show your actual speed in some places here, so we see who can get the highest numbers

we have a couple in town right now...but they precede a construction zone...so it's likely cops are never too far away...

it's only a 2 digit one though...makes me sad :(

Same here, they`ve only 2 digit ones  Damn !

If speeding was such a crime they`d ban all cars and bikes that go over 60mph  :thumb: That`ll be all of them.

The suzuki rep at the Myrtle Beach, SC bike rally said that the BKing was a one year model because of low sales. Only 3500 were brought in the US market and if you check ebay there are a number of new ones selling for nine thousand or less. They only made one model, a california model, note the canister on the left side for that market and their antipollution requirements. Evidently the busa in that state has something similiar. I had also heard that the BKing had different cams and airbox. This rep said the airbox was the only difference. What is the real scoop. The demo ride on the bike really impressed me. I have had several 01 to 06 busas and this one was much more torquey. I have not gotten used to the looks.
