Post by: Pat Dietrich on August 05, 2009, 09:45:09 PM
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/My%20Bike/MVC-021S.jpg?t=1273241813)
This was my 01 Busa when a couple mods were good enough
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/My%20Bike/e8940aae.jpg?t=1273241927)
Cookies(and mine) favorite shot :thumb:
Then a couple mods weren't good enough any longer :brk: :whaa: :lol2:
Lots of time spent on the dyno
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/My%20Bike/DSC01830.jpg?t=1273243060)
Speed Channel was there for this event and used the bike on tv(for maybe 4 seconds )
Not the best this bike did but the motor pass was close. 8.79 was best motor and 8.6something @169was best nos)
Well that was the bike I will never forget and hopefully its being taken care of, put a lot of love in that bike.Teared up bad watching it leave on a trailer that wasnt mine, but was offered 15,000.00 for it and I took it :(
Hope you liked the pics :thumb:

Here's my 07 zx14

George Foreman grills reworked by Rob Kelley from Shamrock Racing :thumb:
Seat done by Lee at New Image upholstery as every seat on my bikes are done by him
Thinks thats enough of the 14

Obviously the 14 couldnt come close to replacing the old busa but this new 1 just might :D
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/09%20Hayabusa/IMG_2599.jpg?t=1273245343)
Brand new in box, nobody sat on it and nobody rode it. They even let me do the ride inspection and sign off on paperwork :thumb:
I was cleaning as soon as the box came off, story of my life
At this point it was time to order parts, stock sucks
Absolute 1st thing was to text good friend Jon Reed@ Sport Chrome and luckily he had everything ready for exchange, had the parts in a couple days :thumb:
Then of course seats went to New Image, site sponsor, they are fantastic :thumb: :thumb:

That was last year, then winter set in and I got bored once again, my wife hates when that happens :vllgh: :bxng: :arg: :brk:  :thnks: :hys:
So here we go
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/09%20Hayabusa/2009%20Hayabusa/IMG_3447.jpg?t=1273248712)
Time to come apart  :D and also  :(
Now obviously these pistons are way too dirty to be in my bike  :bah:
So with the advice from good friend Motorhead and his help getting a Gen 1 Block for exchange, I went to Jay @ APE for the 1441 piston Bore kit :thumb:
After head went to member Steve Sharkey in Indy to fix the boring stock head and recieving the cams from member Buzzard I proceded to bench shim the head
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/09%20Hayabusa/2009%20Hayabusa/IMG_3506.jpg?t=1273249851)

Inners taken to Oh to Dan who had painted my gen 1 Busa, too bad suzuki doesnt do this to begin with. It just makes the bike look complete in my opinion :thumb:]
Mirrors done too
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/09%20Hayabusa/2009%20Hayabusa/IMG_3561.jpg?t=1273250548)
All back together and time to head to the dyno
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/1113hayabusa/09%20Hayabusa/2009%20Hayabusa/IMG_3550.jpg?t=1273251036)
Wasnt looking for high numbers with the shinko on the back since last year dynoing 179 and 107 on the torque bone stock and changing pipe, fliter and putting 1000 stacks in airbox and getting 179 and 103 on torque after mods with shinko and stretch, I knew I'd be off at least 10hp over a pull with a normal tire on back.

212.44 and 120torque, pretty good with a 200 shinko on back :thumb:
Before and after. 34hp gain over what it was when piped, you can feel the difference :thumb:

And that is the Number one priority in my life and my son brant is sittin on it. :hys: Ok, kidding, thats my 4 yr old come aug 17th. Makes me laugh everyday. :thumb:

So, i guess its a good start. getting a puig windscreen next, maybe some new levers soon also.

HP mods- bmc race, 1000 velosity stacks, brock smeg which sounds so much better on a busa than it does the 14. I Dont get it,the 14 was loud, this isnt??? Same pipe. :duh:

Havent checked hp difference yet between stock and now but guessing 190s somewhere.

All stickers from the factory just peel off except for the tank which has clearcoat over them. The tank decals are still there. Wish I could get rid of those as well. I think it has a better look without all the decals. I do however want a black chrome Kanji for the sides though so its there but isnt real obvious. Thaks for the compliment C-Nyl. I like the name.

Mornin' Pat,

Just saw a post over on PB where Jeremy Teasley was running 8.30's on some guy's street(i think)1441(posted time slips, etc.),i know he's a little dude/pro rider but i wasn't aware a 1441 could put down those numbers. :thumb:

Default Jeremy Teasley #'s 08 1441 CPC's Setup
This topic isn't to call anyone out, it's just show what my fully dress 08 Busa with a 3 milimeter piston kit (ALL MOTOR) 67 inches with a Tuskigi full system pipe & a stock oil pan did at Budds Creek on Saturday with Jeremy Teasley at the controls.

1st Pass
with 46 t/s

R/T .019
60' 1.302
330 3.522
1/8 5.359
MPH 133.68
1000 6.953
1/4 8.31
MPH 164.65

2nd Pass
with 44 t/s

R/T .064
60' 1.387
330 3.585
1/8 5.421
MPH 133.55
1000 7.022
1/4 8.396
MPH 163.18

3rd Pass
with 44 t/s

R/T .016
60' 1.335
330 3.536
1/8 5.372
MPH 133.13
1000 6.979
1/4 8.360
MPH 161.98

His 1st pass might seem a lil hard to believe but he backed out the throttle because it wheelied but got right back in it & he ran out of gear 20 feet before the finish line. Those who was there, seen it with there own eyes. He came back after the pass and said he know for a fact he can take it a 8.19 or better if I could take it from a 46 to a 44 tooth sprocket. I bought a 44 and put it on but come to find out my clutches were going. Bought some new clutches but it was to late to put in. As you can see , the bike slowed down on the 2nd & 3rd pass because the clutches were going out. I'd like to thank Mark Howard @ CPC in Richmond Va. for building the motor, Blake & Shawn Gann for the machine work & Mike Dye of 4th Generation for tuning it. Big props to Crow for allowing Jeremy to take a few passes on not knowing me from a can a paint until now. For those of you who knows Crow & Jeremy, give them a call and they'll tell you themselves. Once again, this is not to call out anyone, it's just to show the potential of a bike I can get on 64 east and head to the beach. Phase II is coming soon

Very nice and very believable. You seen my mph on my timeslip on my gen 1. Thats with my bodyweight then of around 205 riding, now put Ryan Schnitz@130 riding and what do you think that mph would have done? At least 4-5. That was at 61in so now add 6 more inches and he could have run pretty close if not right on those numbers. This bike has around 20more hp then my old one, im guessing thats worth 4-5mph but that would have to be with oxygenated fuel too. So yeah Jeff, good reading info. That's awesome he can run that low. He'd give lot of these turbo guys problems for sure with e.ts like that. 1.30 sixty is gettin it  :thumb:

I would never go long term being sick of something without yanking it and painting,, if nothing more than just a rattle-can paint job. I would have that "shit" off of there so fast! :bah: If you are sick of something,, change it.

Thankyou Mr. Long live for the compliment. If you are serious and would like a fantastic paint job for a great price you need to get ahold of 469boy(robert Kelley) on here and set something up to have him paint your ride :thumb:

Nope that aint it. Cuz we both think were Mack trucks and when were on a small enough road we were bound to collide. Apparently, this place was that very road. :thumb:

Thanks man! I just took stickers off so its almost all black plus had inner fairings smoothed out and painted black. I personally think the busa blows the zx14 away in looks myself, thats why i switched back.

How much ass pain was it to polish that black frame?

Great job on all three of your bikes. The first Busa was always my favorite, this new one isn't shabby either.

I could have done it in 1 day but i kept trying different methods to see diferent results. Basically a palm sander using 150, 220,320,400,600,800. Then i wet sanded 800,1000, 1200,1500, 2000. then i used a foam polishing pad on a drill with blue magic going overit several times. Then a micro cloth with mothers billet alluminum for a final. Now in between all of that i was messing with a angle grinder and different types of buffing wheels to see if i could do that instead of sanding. The end result to get the best finish for me was sanding.

Pat that is great...but one thing i noticed is your set up at the dragstrip has your axle right at the back of your extensions(license plate removed to clear).......we have 2 busa"s one an 07 and one an 08 with the same extensions...not polished of course...lol.....and judging by the side pics and lining up with the flashers using the axle...it is more than 5over i would say...maybe i am wrong.....then put a pic with a tape mesure from middle pivot to middle axle...that will show exactly how much over when you are all the way back.

With 18-48 gearing it was in the area of 5.5 over. The picture and setup here that you see is with a 45 on the back and had about an inch to go before it touched the back of extentions so probably at 64 in . but not a measured number. Its just guessing where its sitting. I could count the links on the zzz chain give you exact gearing 18-45 and if you have a way to figure it out go ahead and knock yourself out  :tu: But i never said it was 5 over for the last race. I knew it was around that for the last time I ran at us131. i had at least 1.5 inches to go with extentions before it was against the back.

Was just comparing your bike to my friends 08....and when you mentioned 1.40's at 5 over..i was wondering because the pics of your bike in street trim and race trim are different the way the rear wheel sticks out from the tail....so i figured at least 65 to 66inch wheelbase because we had 2 set up identical and your pivot to axle should be 27inch at 5 over....gearing does not really say wheelbase cause my 07 is about the same as yours and i have 16-45...(stock motor)my turbo is 64 inch and has 28inch pivot to axle(6over)........i thought that you raced your bike exactly the way pictured in street trim..that's all. :tu:

Oh!  Yes I did except the last 2 times in which case I added 3 links to chain to see what it would do stretched back farther. Still had an inch of slot left so I figure 64 with the gearing where it was on this day. Close anyway. Ill try to measure from pivot next time its back there.don't want or need to falsify info I put on here. I do have a 1.41 sixty in the street setting though. I don't run much at all. This bike has been on track I think 6 times now. Im more impressed with 160 mph speed than et and on pump fuel. Im not a big guy but im not a jockey either. 205 dressed anyway. And a big conceited head which weighs me down alot.

:hys:there is one guy that has a 1441 and is running 159-160 even 161mph here..he weights about the same as you unsuited...i was impressed...thinking of doing the same to mine this winter...this combo works pretty good...with only 385 cams and starts with only 1 battery also......probably your twin brother..lol..

I think its a great combo. I still have a black plug #3. If possible over the winter I may pull it down and put new rings and send injectors out to be examined. That cylinder is not burning sufficient for some reason. Its been like that since the bore kit.

Got-busa- honestly scared to ride anymore. I'm so paranoid that I'm going to get hit wreck or whatever that it just no fun to ride. Sucks that I can't enjoy it.Plans are though to get a Shelby in 19 months. That's when our denali will be paid off so my turn to get 60k dollar car. Then my family can enjoy it with me!

I understand Pat! My wife doesn't want me on the street anymore and with recent events doesn't want me riding at all. It's just hard for me to walk away from.  Been riding with my Dad since I was a kid, to many memories. I've tried the car thing, get bored and keep coming back to motorcycles.  I really don't know what  to do...

Bringing an old post back...'09 1441cc

My buddy has purchased this bike from Pat a couple of years ago. He only rode it twice for maybe total of 25 miles. It has sat under cover in a climate controlled room, and is still in the exact same perfect shape as Pat had it. He has moved on to other interests and wants to sell it. If your looking for great Busa this is your machine....$9500...RO
