As part of the gen2 1441 project it was time to look into the fuelpump. According to the manual the stock pump is capable of 79LPH which corresponds to 220-240hp. When opening the pump the Mitsubishi type code was exactly the same as gen1, only the powerconnector was changed so no doubt - this pump needed to be replaced.
Then I laid on the desk three pumps next to each other:
Stock gen2 pump
Bosch HP pump
Walbro HP pump
The Walbro is a bit thicker and also longer which meant that it was not a direct fit. Like with gen1 the Bosch pump is a direct fit, only powerconnector needs to be modified and top plastic support cut from one edge.
Bosch 0 580 314 068 engraved in plastic casing that needs to be cut open to get the pump out, below is a picture of the plastics cut open. Bosch us supposed to be an Audi replacement pump. Same pump may be inside some other casings too, but this is the one found so far. We flowtested all three pumps last summer. Bosch flow is the same with Walbro, but Bosch is capable for higher pressure before safety valve opens so Bosch is obviously the favourite choise.

does anyone know if its worth doing just for GP cause i dont want to loose a pump in mid stride. i have stock bike modded bazzaz brock alien head exhaust, will be doing intake mod with cams. i would like to get everything done at once thanks in advance

Wow I remember someone saying they sprayed a dry shot on gen one & pump went south at 280hp..I guess that was B.S.
I have built n.a. motors that lost fuel control at 230hp , installed 370cc injectors and could run on dyno as rich as I wanted and did not lose control of a/f.
Oh well good info , PETRIK what is your estimated power capacity of the bosch?? Thanks Bro !!

So if a guy switches to the Bosch pump will it throw off the tuning that I already have. or would it act just like the stock pump if I run the same flash as I'm running now?

I would imagine if you do not modify the regulator & keep pressure the same you should be very close..

I think that the tune you have now should be fine as long as you werent maxing out the stock pump. If you were you may have to back some fuel out in the upper part of the map where you were having to keep the injectors open longer.

hot wire the pump,run a hose off the spout with a tee for a pressure gauge and some locking vise grips.Adjust the vice grips to get 43psi,then time/measure the fuel flow.then run the bike up on the dyno in 6th gear and monitor duty cycle.duty cyle X 280cc X no of injectors is fuel used by the injectors.If the fuel pump flows more than the injectors want at their maximum duty cycle(preferably with some reserve),then theres no problem.

looks like it is $204 from schucks. probably find it cheaper somewhere else.
I have a walbro 255 in a 06 gsxr 1000 pump houseing. It may bolt right up. I guess I will need to see if it works. free for now, but it is a little anouying that it is loud.

well it did not go as quick and easy as I thought/hoped, but what does? :lol:
it took some slight mods, but I got it in their. the plug in connector could not plug in and have enugh room to fit in the houseing. so I put the wires directly to the pump without the connector. Now that I got it all back together I wish I had cut the connector fitting off around the spade terminals and soldered wires directly to the pump. I put female spade terminals on the ends of the wire and put shrink wrap around them. still had to bend them up a little to push the pump in the houseing all the way. should be fine, but just a little concerned that over time the wires could bend into each other, and wear through the shrink wrap touching the + and - wires to the pump together. I guess it should just blow the fuse if this happens and the bike would die.
99.9% chance this would not happen, but it is posible. :lol:

A good point - if the old FP connectors are taken off the wires are absolutely just right lenght with new connectors, if the oem fp wires are cut with the connector on then there is a risk that those become too short. Cutting the connector and housing shorter is necessary, yes. I have done it two ways - either used insulated connectors with heat sinking insulation or just the cut connector housing and provided connectors.

I realize this is old. I am trying this mod right now. I already have the regulator crushed and I was maxing out on a 50 shot. I figured the new 1441 may need this done.

OK. Its in. I hope it all works. I will test it when the bike gets power after the motor goes back in.

No need to crush the regulator with the biger pump and ecu editor. I have ben runing a 75hp shot on my 09 busa for a long time with no problems. 11.7af ratio on the nitrous. I will be doing a 1441 soon with rods etc.. plan on doing a 100hp shot a few times this year just for the heck of it and no plans to crush the regulator.

Hy guys.
I`m installing this BOSCH intank fuel pump to a stage 1, GEN 1 Busa and can anyone tell me, how to eliminate the original intank fuel pressure regulator ??? Do I have to cut it apart and veld the ends or something :?
As I understand I want all the fuel pumps pressure straight to the FMU,what should operate with the fuel pressure - right :?

why would u crush a gen2 regulator when youve
got 8 255cc injectors to supply fuel.if u crush the reg you reduce the pumps
flow rate potential.you only increase pressure to push
more flow out of injectors(usually 4 undersized injectors).
as your 8 injectors start to outflow the pumps flow rate
at 43psi,the rail pressure starts to drop
but the flow rate continues to increase as the
pump is pushing against less pressure.you need a little more
duty cycle but if its available,use it.

It looks like the later part number is a cross reference, and the former is a direct number.

Please help! My 2008 stock fuel pump failed. I purchased a Bosch 69420 as a replacement but haven't been able to get the bike running properly with it. The problem is the outlet on the Bosch pump is shorter than the original and won't seal into the regulator housing. I had it fitted by removing the plastic case around the pump. Cutting off the plastic tab around the male connectors. I used female spade connections to re wire it. I used the original black rubber seal and plastic spacer, original fuel filter sock. Any ideas ?

It should all go together fine after removing the housing. Make sure you have a good ground and the connectors are solid. It is hard to get spade connectors on the terminals that work well.
Last one I did I soldered the wire directly to the terminals.
