I LOST 50 LBS IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS,THEN SCREWED UP AROUND THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND GAINED 15 BACK. I AM BACK TO CARDIO 6DAYS A WEEK AND DIETING, MY GOAL IS TO DROP ANOTHER 50 IN 6MONTHS. I STARTED 2WEEKS AGO IN DROPPED 8LBS.I WILL NOT GIVE UP THIS TIME UNTILL MY GOAL IS REACHED.

Stick with it bro...I'll be starting a cardio routine soon myself...Well as soon as my back will let me...I need to drop 15 to 20 to just feel better that will put me at 230 to 235...

Thanks guys. well today was week 3 weight in I am kind of disappointed week 1-4lbs,week 2-4lbs ,week 3-1lb.I will update it weekly. Just look at it as 1more lb closer to my goal. :thumb: :thumb:

Looks like your doing fine...Remember for the weight you lose in fat it is replaced by muscle which is heavier...So it's a win, win situation!!! :tu:

Hey guys, I'm trying a diet called protein power diet which is kinda like the atkins diet but allows you more carbs. I started on Monday the 7th at 284, week 1 I went from 284 to 270, this week is not over and I'm down to 266. I hope to be in the 250's by March 5th for the first day at the track

Jeff it you like chips eat pork skins no carbs or sugars but a lot of sodium so take it easy on them also.

Good news for me...Since Jan 24, 2011 I have lost 13pds...I had been off work for 5 months and went back and just moving around I shed the weight...Gonna start cardio Monday and see where it leads me...253 to 240...

I went to Shands Neurology department last Tuesday I weighed in at 265.4 lbs. I have gained 40.4 pounds scents the accident February 1,2010
They think that there may still be pressure on the spinal cord that is keeping me for walking and exercising.
On Wednesday March 9,2011 I have to go back at 1:00 pm and take a EMG on both of my legs & feet then at 2:30 pm I have to have a MRI's of my neck & Back.

Hope you make out ok with your neck and back. For looseing the weight I kept it real simple 3 meals a day lean meat turkey burgers,grilled chicken breast,turkey breast plenty of fresh vegatables,lots of water and 2 snacks a day fresh fruit between meals,. I also do cardio 5-6 days a week for a hour a day.

I had a EMG done last Nov the Dam Dot Head stuck a needle about 1" long in both lower leg mussels and my right arm.
It Burned like hell and I took some pain meds just before going in.

Started trying to lose weight since last season to try and help my times even though I just started last year. Started cutting back on soda in a big way and with some working out and portion control have managed some nice results in about 2 months. Started at at 221 today jumped on the scale and quite happily saw 207. Losing about 2 to 2½ lbs per week.
Starting to ramp up my gym visits thanks to the better weather. So hopefully I will see the 199 mark in a few weeks.

Aside from exercise, which is key to life, the type of meal, the time of day it is being consumed and portion size will help in reshaping you into the future.
The real killer that we are fighting is SUGAR consumption. To much fructose assimilates into fat.
Natural sugars from fresh fruits are better, but still amounts have to be monitored. Refined sugars like what you spoon onto your already sweetened morning cereal and into your coffee can contribute to exceeding required daily limits.
High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS/Petitioned by ConAgra to the FDA because of bad press to be renamed through smoke and mirror effect to "Corn Syrup") cannot be properly converted by the liver as normal sugar can and in turn causes FIBROSIS scaring also confuses the brain into thinking one is still hungry. In spite of the Corn Industries current attack on how HFCS does nothing bad to you, HFCS is one huge contributing factor in America's obesity.
If you can totally eliminate HFCS from all consumption and limit fructose (natural (fruits) or refined (make it raw)) sugar intake to 50mg +/- per day you will see a huge turn around on your weight reductions.
Do like weight trainers have done for years, eat your meals backwards. Eat your (dinner) proteins in the morning, protein shakes for lunch, and your (breakfast) carbohydrates, like oatmeal for evening. Think about this - if you consume a Burger and fries late at night, well, the cholesterol load is one thing,, but if you eat that late in the day and then settle in for the night, your body has no way of converting that into energy, you go to sleep without exercising and your body turns it into fat.

Boy did I screw up, I've gained my weight back. I'm thinking its due to stress, I moved to a new house and changed jobs and it seems like I have been eating more at night, even middle of the night. I didn't realize how much I gained back until I went to the track friday night. I rolled across the scales and me on the bike was 835!!! last year i was down to 805. When I weighed this morning I was 283, so I'm starting over again :( But I did have a good time at the track, I didnt take any tools, no messing with the clutch or shock or anything, just had fun making some easy passes, had the wife and kids with me and we watched all the fast cars(pro street shootout night) between passes. I can say one thing, if you dont have an ams1000, you need to try one. Wow! It was so much smoother and easier than launching on 18psi :bah: I had it set really low so I could get used to it, only ramped it up to 15psi and went 8.86 first pass, then 8.72, 8.68, 8.74 and best mph was 171 :D :D Now I cant wait to lose 30lbs and turn the boost up :tu:

On hot days you drink lots of water ,gator aid or beer, a gallon of water weighs 8.35 lbs.
I've been in bay port and its been 112 deg at the track and drank 2-3 gallons of water ,

Woo Hoo 280 in shorts with no shoes, I'm going to try and do like Bill is doing, a couple of pounds a week instead of a crash diet and lose 10-15lbs in the first week. I actually decided to go jogging this evening, my goal was 2 miles :D after a 1/2 mile I was walking fast :? then I would jog awhile then walk awhile. I remember the good old days when I would work out everyday and run 2-3 miles a day. That was 20yrs ago!! I was actually in good shape and weighed 235-240, wore 36 jeans and my chest stuck out farther than my belly did. I'm 42, and I'm going to get back in shape if it kills me!!!!! :twisted:. My target weight is 230 :tu:

Bodybuilders consume protein right before bedtime, usually casein because its slow burning, for muscle sparing after fasting for 8 hours of sleep. Some competators ever argue that your body doesnt know what time is what, and if you eat before sleeping your body will use it just the same. Myself, i try to avoid a high carb meal before bed just out of habit.
Google velocity diet. Its severe. It hurts. It works.

I should add when i first bought a bike i was about 285. I did the long distance running thing for a while and got down to 225, skinny fat lookin. Lifting weights was the answer. I ended up the same weight, but looking better. Finally I did a cut and dropped from 230lbs to 198 in 4 months, and kept my strength up. Ofcourse now i havent been working out and got up to 219 lol. I've always fought my weight. But I know what I have to do to get down.

Eat your (dinner) proteins in the morning, protein shakes for lunch, and your (breakfast) carbohydrates, like oatmeal for evening. Think about this - if you consume a Burger and fries late at night, well, the cholesterol load is one thing,, but if you eat that late in the day and then settle in for the night, your body has no way of converting that into energy, you go to sleep without exercising and your body turns it into fat.
Bodybuilders consume protein right before bedtime, usually casein because its slow burning, for muscle sparing after fasting for 8 hours of sleep. Some competators ever argue that your body doesnt know what time is what, and if you eat before sleeping your body will use it just the same. Myself, i try to avoid a high carb meal before bed just out of habit.

Although free weights are not the end all equation for total and proper health; having them in your life in one way or another is definitely essential. As we grow older, and as we have or have not worked with free weights in any fashion, we find out how important bearing weight really is to our bones. It keeps our bones strong and our muscles trained and alive.

I thought I would bump this up.
Last year I tried the HCG diet more as an experiement and to help promote my friends business in selling it. In 23 days I lost 34lbs. In the next week I lost another 3lbs on a more regular caloried intake. After about another month I quit and went about my business and proceeded to gain all the weight back (I was 280lbs at the start) but it did take some time to gain it back around 4-5 months. In Feb 2011 I started to go ahead and get serious and start eating better and about half the calorie intake. I was probably around 3000 cals a day and cut it down to about 1500 or so. In May 2011, I went back into the gym. When I started at the gym I was at 265lbs. That is a 15lb loss with no exercise. Today I am now 235lbs while still building lean muscle. So that is now 45lbs loss. My ultimate goal is to hit 190lbs by December so I will not longer be part of TFA.....except in leathers....damn it..... Once I reach this weight, I will be hitting it harder to start sculpturing the muscles for a Natural Bodybuilding competition I will participate in 2013. It will take time as I really want to win with both size and lean cuts.

Good job guys. I have been up and down I was 12lbs away from getting to the 290#s. But i started screwing up about 2 weeks ago,and now I am on vacation so its just getting worse lol. I am gonna snap down once I get back home. I have lost a total of 75lbs probably gained a few back these last 2 weeks.

I'm 300lbs in the Bday suit. Been struggling with this weight thing for a while.... I have real good intentions. Its hard working, raising kids and trying to find time for myself. A few days ago I had a influential moment.... something came to me while I was grilling a few ribeyes. It was like a voice was speaking to me... it said "GO GET THE BIG NOS JETS AFTER YOU FLIP THOSE STEAKS OVER. YOU DONT NEED TO LOOSE WEIGHT... ADD MORE NOS" I felt relieved.... that was what I needed to hear. I feel better already

Wow, I have gone up and down this year from 286 to 266, back to 275 then 265. I have not even thought about dieting or working out for a few weeks. I've been working outside in this heat and drinking lots of water and this morning I weighed and it was 252.8 :tu:

At the doctors July 8, I was 255.2 on there scale , got on mine this morning it shows 270 .

I'm certainly not just dieting. I am training my body to eat a certain way as well working out about 4-5 days a week. It becomes a lifestyle once you become use to it and maintain your weight as well as health.
Besides I am actually training to compete in a Natural bodybuilding competition in about a year.
Just a goal and something I can say I achieved.

You or absolutely right sparky no such thing as a diet. It seems like when I slip up And start eating really unhealthy then I feel like shit. Tired,aggravated and I feel like everyone around me can tell I screwed up. I lost 75lbs so far. I Have been doing this for a while and It seems like the demons never go away for ever. :lol:

When I use to drink all night and chase women I stayed at 225 lbs never gained or lost any weight.
When I married Cheryl 13 years ago I was 225 lbs , now I stay between 275 & 260 lbs .
So I told Cheryl last week I was going to get my weight bact down to 225 lbs.
She ask me how was I plaining to do that, I said I was going to do like I did before we got married.
Drink all night and chase women !!
Now that I'm home from the hospital I can B.S with you all again. :crzy:

Ive gone paleo, clean eating and just water or unsweatend tea
crossfit, bicycle lots.
im down to 227 from 245 i've also put on some lean muscle so i know I have lost more fat than the scale shows... gotta get me a body fat measure tool
when I hit 220 im treating myself to skydiving

.I eat alot of salad and fish.. cant get under 300lbs. I said the hell with it and ordered bigger NOS jets
