He's OK but you may want to wish him well too? :id:
-
Talked to John today. He is going to be fine.
-
Thanks for the heads up Jay! Glad to hear he is OK! He most likley feels like he was hit buy a truck! He is a very lucky man, it could have been alot worse.
On a lighter side, it was very nice to finally meet you Jay!
Steve

We all wish him a speedy and complete recovery, of course.
I think Joe has wished him well like 4-5 times, on this and other sites. Did you read the Mojave thread?
Dean
-
Yes, I wanted to offer up a dedicated thread for John's well wishes as that thread was started as a report on the mile.
-
?....
To whom it may concern,
I Had No Idea what a Firestorm I accidentally started :( !
When I got the phone call this Sunday from my Tuner, and Big Brotha Gil Nevarez :grn:!
The Moment John had his accident. He was very concerned, and I was in Shock to be Honest
John, and Michelle Noonan :luv: took me under their wings after I saw the Nat Geo Special on Bonneville Racing :tu:!
I had to try it  !
I've Raced Motorcycles since I was a Kid,but never really knew about LSR :bah:.
Through the Last few Years it's been a Rocky Road at Best. Those of you that know Him ,know what a Bugger he CAN BE !!!
{I'm being Nice here :wink:}
My written intentions are not always understood, and I've been Banned by more then 1 website for Typing before thinking about what I was trying to say :duh:.
That being said Love Him or Hate Him? He,and Michelle have been a Big influence in my Personal LSR endeavors.
Be it Good or Bad they have been there. When Gil called me I ONLY KNEW He crashed @ Speed during his 2ND run of this past Mojave Mile event.
THANKFULLY SCOTT SITES WAS ABLE TO PUT MY FEARS TOO REST ! I've seen my share of Racing Worst accidents, and have had my share of Terrible accidents!
It's not pretty ,and I don't wish it on my Worst enemies. Life is to short, and Racing is all I've ever wanted to do. I Still have a Long way to go when it come to my Racing Goals, and Dreams . Thankfully I was ABLE TO SPEAK TO HIM TODAY :thumb:! I will say things {LSR Racer's have changed Over the last few years } as the Speeds have gone UP,and UP :? ? I Asked him what happened? His answer to me was 'we are not yet sure' ? When They know I'm sure he will share his experience with whom ever he wants. Till then Lets try and be a Little more Civilized .Because the Next Ultra High Speed Crash may be who ever's Last ! The Last time I checked nobody I knew personally was getting Rich Racing LSR. Pride, and Egos you get for setting a Record {besides the hat, shirt and wood } is why we do this. Lets all try to be a little Kinder to each other . As You or I could be next 1 TOO Die doing what we LOVE !
Get well my Racing Brother. I know you will be back FASTER THEN EVER :kickass:
Sorry for the Sermon everyone,
Kaz............

When I first joined this site, John was among the first to welcome me. When I blew up my engine at Texas, he sent me a set of his stock pistons at no charge. He spent time on the phone with me, walking me through cam timing, gearing and about a thousand other aspects of land speed racing. He also told me about Wossner pistons and rods. I bought a set of each and have been giving them hell in my bike ever since. John is a fantastic ambassador of the sport and I admire the heck out of him.
John,
Thanks for the advice and the great example of how to live a life. Get well soon!
-
Hope its not too bad..get well soon!!
-
I will say this- John has sent parts to me no charge to help me out in the past. He's put up with me calling and picking his brain quite a few times and shared good info every time. We talked about putting lead on my swingarm and he told me the story about Barry Henson crashing badly on Robopti's bike with lead on the arm. It convinced me to skip the lead for now.
John is one of the OG's who set the bar high a long time ago.
Get well John and get back in the saddle. Unfortunately, I've been there and done that.
-
John has always been good to me. Always,,, going the extra mile. Literally. He is outgoing, and that kind of person will always have those that are insecure making words or actions of opposition.
Even though he doesn't post here anymore,,, he may read. I wish him nothing but the best. Heal up, Brother.
-
For those of you who are not in contact with John I wanted to give an update on his status. I just returned from John's place and he is doing good. He is mobile and moving about, I think he even went to/or did a few hours work today. His spirits are typical John Noonan, he doesn't miss a beat, the man is resilient.

What are the details of the accident? Is he home or in the hospital?

John has spent countless hours on the phone and net helping me and many others, obviously, from all these posts. Especialy when I was new to the sport. He is a great guy and a good friend.
I am glad he is ok and wish him and Michelle all the best.
We have been keeping him in our prayers here.

John-
I hope you're feeling better.
Get well soon.

Do we know what the cause was yet?
-
I don't think so, but according to his LR.com post, he's certain that it wasn't related to the dustbin aero of his Airtech bodywork.
-
found this posted awhile ago on a non-racing related thread on LR...
"""""Thank you for the information regarding Andy Green, regarding the Airtech DB fairing..I am certain the wreck/crash was not caused by the fairing being affected by either side winds or a gust.
I am hoping this week we can put the bike/bodywork back together to acurately determine what the cause of the crash was, until then Bob and I will not speculate as to what caused the problem we/I endured.
Once we do I/we will post our findings as to the issue at hand, this will be done to make sure that no one else endures what I did last Sunday while running over 270+ mph. The picture of the 314 mph gps was not posted by another racer to stipulate what our top speed was, it was posted simply as what it was..an erroneous measurement we have not experienced with a gps in the past and never before experienced until now.
We are certain that with further development with our design we will be not only closer to our bad gps speed however we will again have the fasted timed sit-on bike anywhere. This will ruffle some feathers however we are positive with what we have learned.
John""""
not sure how one can be "certain" of what didnt cause the accident...and then plan to piece the bike back together.." to acurately determine what the cause of the crash was"......and then believe ""I will not speculate as to what caused the problem we/I endured""....when that is precisely the reality of the situation...
i realize all this talk can ruffle feathers and many dont see eye to eye.....in this era of communication its our reality to chit-chat-mon morning quarterbacking-internet experts etc
Joe :)

Get well soon, get back on the saddle and accomplish your goal. God speed

A 270+ mph get off? Holy Mother of God.

I wish Jim, but not this year. 4 Maxton meets, Texas in a few weeks, Loring, and maybe WOS.
I hope Noonan has his bike fixed up and ready for some clean passes in October, should be fun. :tu:
-
Looks like Greg and I will see you at WOS then.
Though Texas and Loring are on to do list!
-
Bump.
What caused the crash ?
