anyone have an updated one? just curious how many have done it and what speeds have been obtained.
-
and while we are on it, whats the fastest naked naturally aspirated record?
-
Bill is the top dog on that list too at 255, not sure about the fastest N/A speed though.
-
The ECTA site is down, but Mark Deluca / Knecum / Forstall has been 203 at Bonneville, and he probably has the NA naked record at Maxton too.
-
I went 205 naked at Bonneville. NA 1350cc. Not a pretty sight!! :hys:
-
Nice Fred, with only 1350cc no less. :thumb:

Anyway, I think Aaron is doing a good job with this thread.
Bill Warner got something started on his personal web site
a number of years ago, but it got sort of overlooked when
his attention shifted from the VMax to the Hayabusa.
That I know of, nobody else on the web is continuing
a thread like this, and it will offer a lot of great information
if Aaron is able to give it some attention,
and to maintain it.
Give him all the help he needs.

Yes, JC, being on this list is a very worthy goal.
If you combine everybody that has been timed
over 200 MPH WITH a fairing; here, at Bonneville and in Europe,
there are maybe 300 people, total.
On the naked llist, there might be how many, 50 ?
You see which is more difficult.
We found some years ago that a Hayabusa fairing
was good for about 14 MPH, at Hayabusa speeds.
So for comparisons, on Tom’s list, that would be the folks OVER 214 MPH.
So, everybody from #75 down WITH a fairing wouldn’t make the “naked” list.
All the more respect for Sliger on the Enfield,
Elrod on the Kawasaki (all motor)
and Jim Angerer on the Triumph.
All those bikes were twin engine, Altered-frame bikes.
With today’s aero rules, I don’t doubt they would
all be hitting 230 MPH………….

Tom Actually went over 200 MPH NAKED with his
Harley Bonneville bike, but the record was under 200.
He was the first person in LSR history to break 200 MPH
on two different BRANDS of bike.
He, somewhat forgotten, is a true hero of the sport.

Yes, it would seem that the problem
is NOT starting lists, but:
1) doing the basic research to find
everybody - even when they don't post here, and
2) maintaining the list , year after year.......

more than 10 years ago. In order of joining the Maxton Naked Club.
Original speeds, not subsequent faster speeds.........

Thats maxton mile, and from Bills website...
Tom Elrod, 1979, Kawasaki, Bonneville 200.022 MPH
Rich Yacoucci, 2001, Suzuki, El Mirage, 203.799 MPH
Mark Deluca, 2003, Forstall Suzuki, Bonneville, 203.401 MPH
Bill Warner, 2007, Yamaha V-Max, Maxton 200.06 MPH
I helped Bill Warner with his version of "The List."
While he maintained his list,Bill was intent on
finding "a home" for every over-200 Naked Rider.
Time and track didn't matter to Bill.
"Naked" mattered !
