Title: Project spare parts franken busa
Post by: mysticblu999 on April 01, 2012, 05:56:37 PM
So I get a call about 2 years ago from the local suzuki dealer about this drag bike. They knew I was the only one in town that would be intrested in it. I picked it up for $1500 bucks.

I posted a part out thread after stripping it down to make my money back and keep the motor. MCBUSA contacts me and tells me the history of the bike and that he was the original builder. "How awesome is that??" I kept the motor which I find out is awesome, JE pistons, Carrillo rods and CARR bolts, 1/2 studs, race tranny, HD output shaft.... Jackpot!

I sold the swing arm, sub frame, cut forks, and a few other things and made my $1500 bucks back.

Motor sat like this for a while before I got it in the blue bike

Check out these good friends that helped my tear it down

After being without a street bike for what seemed like forever while I was swapping engines and doing a stage 2 on the blue bike, I decided I should have a stock bike for a daily commuter. I drive 800-1000 miles a week. My truck gets 16 mpg and my car gets 20 mpg. I had this idea, Ive got all these Hayabusa parts laying around, I want a stock bike, I want to learn the Hayabusa inside and out, what better way to do it then to build one from the ground up, from junk laying around my house and my parents. So I get all the parts to make a rolling chasis and take them in my living room with some left over BW3!

Finsihed for now!

Just ran out and took these, I'm waiting on a stupid washer that goes behind the clutch basket so I can put the clutch on, fill it up with oil and see if she fires up!

Now I know what your thinking... yes I forgot to take some pics, but now I just need a few more parts to put in on the road.

I plan on making this bike my commuter/touring bike. I'm going to put a givi top case on it, corbin seats, gps and other comfort mods so I can actually take it to work and on trips, I really miss taking bike trips, haven't done anything like that since I went turbo. Can't wait to update, this is where the bike is at right now, Just snapped those last pics.

So I just ordered catalyst composites 08 bodywork. Can't wait to get it fitted on the bike then get it painted! Buddy of mine is about to come help me put the motor back in in about an hour or so, I'm getting excited again!

I'm an idiot.... the gear that goes behind the basket was non existent..... oh man I feel dumb. Bout to put it back together, fire it up, then test fit the new bodywork. After that then its off to the painter!  :D

Just put a chain on it and bleed the clutch system to make sure it goes down the road. It was awesome to ride it but I had no headlight and it was dark. Oh well! Frank just went down the road for the first time! :moped:

2013 Hayabusa tempted me. Haven't had a brand new Hayabusa since 2007. Its time. Parting this one out. Thanks for looking
