Hey older dude.
Came off fairly easily with a hair dryer, though i got in a hurry towards the end and had one hell of a time getting some of the adhesive off(stayed on the bike rather than coming off with the graphics ).
-
That glue is a bitch to get off.
-
You ain't lyin' Fred, took me longer to get about 3 square inches of that glue off than it did all of the stickers.
-
Yup, been there done that!!

Was looking around on Brocks board yesterday and somebody with that same issue said he used Rain X and the adhesive(even the really hard shit)came right off.Might be worth a try next time somebody attempts it,short of a belt sander i think it's a bastard no matter what you use(i finally had to use some Mothers Scratch Remover, eventually got it off but it was a sonofabitch).
-
damn man better not scratch it :hys:
-
Niiice!!! That goes a long way toward blacking it all out.

What lenses are you considering?

Hope yours fit better.

I had a couple that kept wanting to come out also, ended up puting a bit of black silicone around the outer edges and tapping in with a mallet(never came loose again). :thumb:

...next are some Pazzo levers and to replace the stock chain and rear sprocket(Vortex has a nice looking sprocket that's black with some polished lookin' highlights, and Dan J sent me the info. on the black chain he was running and looked good, thinking i'll go that route. :thumb:

Mama got me a TomTom GPS the other day(for my B-day,the big 59...found some hairs startin' to grow outa my ears so i think it's almost over )since i get lost all the time, really just wanted one to check my speedo(75 indicated is actually 70,think an indicated 100 was something like 91 or 92).Of course(naturally)the one she got me(TomTom VIA 1535 TM)appears to be one of the few you can't do the Ram stem mount thing with(can't locate a cradle that holds the unit/that will attach to the Ram ball thingamagig).Big screen(since i'm half blind )...wonder if i can download some porn on that bitch? :lol:For now it has to be a bit off center on the tank for that suction mount to grip, and i rigged up a quick safety lanyard in case i want to check the speedo at the indicated 186 and the sonofabitch blows off. :lol:Probably never use it much, but it does beat the hell out of havin' hand written directions in my pocket and pullin' over all the time to see where in the hell i'm at(now it'll be the directions to work this damned thing,i can't remember shit). :hys:

Jeff, the only thing that could make that bike look better, is if it were in my garage! Nice job!
-
Well thank you Steve. :thumb:
(took me most of the day,but i figured out a clean way to stem mount the GPS so will order the parts tomorrow along with the Pazzo levers :thumb:)
-
I work in a fabrication shop and with very little effort I made a bracket that hooks on the top two tank bolts and it holds my gps beautifully :)
-
Good deal. :tu:
Ended up going with some of the Ram Mount ball system stuff that should work out good(along with a cig. lighter socket, etc.,ended up at $90 total...along with the $220 she spent on the damned GPS,over $300 total... and all i ever wanted was a $90 Garmin just to check my speedo error ).
