The magazines have the hp on the new 14 from 175 to 200 - what are the stock ones really making at the tire?
-
188.3 hp with 163 miles - 208.6 hp with Brock pipe/MR12, Mobil 1 syn oil w/312 mies - will be testing with Guhl reflash, PC5Clutch mod. and after market Filter soon ! Also added bolt-on extensions and +2 on the rear, not sure how it will effect it on the dyno. 5.71, 5.68, 5.66 (and a 6.06-Large wheelie) forgot to pull down the front straps lol 175 lbs and good air so I really don't see it going much faster with me on it..
-
177hp on my local dyno,it makes my 1507 look pretty good at 225-230hp on the same dyno.Ive also seen them run 184hp dead stock on another dyno over here in Australia.
-
I will post one I did yesterday in a bit.
looks like I might be a Kawi man again :tu:

Very nice. What modifications have been done?

Pipe and powercommander

I tuned one last night and got very simular numbers. This particular bike had the ECU flashed with an extended redline. HP was flat from 10500 to 11500. Amazing for a stock head/cam.
-
Wow! great numbers with those minor mods, I think my "Hayabusa" just lost an inch off the length of the wheelbase.
-
191 Hp - approx 50 miles on the bike - stock :)

Hi guys........2013 HT project numbers on and off the juice.

Sorry guys, for comparison purposes here are the SAE corrected and fully smoothed (lowest readings possible) numbers so we can compare apples to apples. For reference purposes, a stock 2012 ZX-14R made 183hp on the Champion dyno.

Unless you tune the bike better on the juice, it will self disintegrate. AFR is awfully lean.
-
Thanks Ransom, however if you look closely you'll note the n2o pull is off by 10hp across the board, that's C12 at work - we never leave home without it on juice.........The tune was dyno built for the best power and engine life based on yrs of experience (we were on it for 4 hrs. in 90 degree heat!!). Dan at Champion Cycle here in Toronto www.championcycle.ca is one of North America's best ZX-14 n2o builders and 7 second pilots, check him out on the Discovery channel. Regarding the dyno A/F it's perfect for our set-up, note we got off the juice at 10,500 and the residual nitrous charge took the A/F up a bit at the terminal 11,000 rpm due to the fact that our second PC5 n2o map shuts off the richer fuel at the injectors faster than the juice can exit the system, by a split second or so - all covered by using the correct fuel.
Cheers,
Cliff
-
Wow Cliff, VERY impressive numbers!! Is that just all stock except for the juice being dialed in on it. Your pics are awesome too. Very professional! Are you "the Stig"!! :D
Super freeking cool!!
-
Thanks Red..........Muzzy exhaust, Dynojet PC5 with custom 'Champion Cycle' maps, Don Guhl 'flashed' ECU and pump gas, made 198hp where a stock 2012 made 183hp on the same dyno. Best numbers Dan at Champion has seen with a 'bolt-on' 2012-13 ZX-14 is 193hp, so we made 5hp more with our stuff.......On the Muzzy juice we used VP Fuel C12 (note the immediate loss of 10hp while 'on the motor' until we hit the button). I'm satisfied that we could run this 45rwhp shot all day on a 50/50 blend of pump gas and C12 and pick up a few more ponies.
Cheers,
Cliff

Once the promo stuff was all done, we hit the street in a more stealth fashion.

Hey Cliff, not to burst your bubble but Dan has only been tuning bikes for a couple of years at best, and we have had to tune most bikes that leave that shop so the customers can actually ride them, so I strongly disagree that he is one of North Americas best anything. As for being a 7 second pilot, you surely must be talking 1/8th mile, as Dan had never ridden or built a bike that has been close to a 7 second pass. I am not trying to hijack your post or discredit anyone, just passing on the cold hard facts. The discovery channel episode is great, he takes what he claims is a brand new bike, rebuilds it with an engine off ebay, then claims to have custom lowering links made for the bike, which he tries to install upside down, then moans that they will not fit and tries to grind them to get them to fit. Yep, great publicity, lol

Lets not muddy the waters with facts.... :hys:
-
RICHARD IS BEING VERY POLITE!!The junk that comes out that shop(CHAMPION)is mind boggling!!I have seen a few and it is worst than anything i have ever see........I think i remember that name from a while ago...CLIFF RANDALL?????Sounds familiar.........CLIFF do yourself a BIG favor...drive a little bit further towards RCC if you have a little pride and common sense. :tu:
-
Forgot to ask..is that a 'POSER'S bike or do you have numbers on what it runs???Cause i think the next answer will be....'i have not had a chance to run it.........that is why maybe it is still running.
-
Now i think i remember...i think you used to have some BMW'S bikes built to for magazines exposure only....let me retract my phrase.....stay with CHAMPION CYCLE......i remember you like seeking attention with pretty bikes..only.
-
Robert baby, you sexy mother fucker where you been brother? I haven't seen or heard from you in 10yrs........Dan at Champion did a great job tuning my 14, I recommend him 100% - In fact he's the best dyno tuner I've ever used.
Cheers,
Cliff
-
CLIFF...I think you have not met anyone else to say that.....i only hear bad things from this guy you are talking about and seen his work.....i have a feeling your bike was not put together by him......bring it to the track let us know if it works good.
-
Frankly speaking, I've met too many of them!
Cliff
-
That guy looks like a fruity power ranger.
Chump cycle is a joke....are you trying to troll us? Maybe I should order up some filte...i mean socks from them monday.
-
Does it still use a one pice case and cylinder?
-
This guy made the April issue of MotorCyclist in the me & my bike feature. Still looks and reads a bit like a poser! Quotes from the feature: "This bike goes 0-60 in two seconds and shifts out of 5th gear at 200mph" "The first thing we did was mount the Kappa hard bags, but any touring plans went straight out the window when we filled the right bag with a Muzzys 50-hp nitrous kit" Article also gives credit for the build to Robbie at Tricked-Toys, not Dan at Champion Cycle as stated here. :?

212 with slip ons and ECU flash, believe it or not ...

What's was it at the peak of the curve instead of the throttle chop spike at the end?

What's was it at the peak of the curve instead of the throttle chop spike at the end?
Good eye Johnny. I've seen that effect before a few times and yes it gives an inflated number on the printout.
-
Why don't the use rpm instead of mph on that axis. Easier to see if HP is at or near redline.
-

Most are lazy easier to do a pull instead of finding the tach wire.
-
Shoot I got 205hp out of mine with California pump gas and yes that was SAE not STD.
This bike is crazy. don't hate appreciate.
-
"shifts out of 5th gear at 200". My production bike ran 213 in 5th. :D
-
very nice, indeed
-
Being on STD correction and on speed instead or rpm could give you as much as 5 hp. Try SAE and rpm !!
-
So it's reasonable to say mod for mod(pipe, flash, tune, pump gas/race gas,etc.,etc.,etc.)that the Gen II ZX-14(I guess that's what you call it,the 1441)puts out about 20 more hp across the board than the Gen II Busa? With all the different dyno readings(SAE,STD,East coast/West
coast/DA on a given day, etc.)I've seen plastered everywhere it seems a factory stock Gen II Busa puts out around 177 hp and then between 185-190+ with a pipe, tune, etc.,whereas the Gen II 1441 ZX-14 seems to average around 205-212 with a pipe, tune, etc.I know there have been exceptions(noted again where the particular dyno, operator,DA at the time, etc. is concerned)causing numbers to be all over the place, but for arguments sake we're talking an average of 20 hp difference and maybe 2-3 10/ths at the strip(with mods, conditions, etc. being equal)?I'm guessing it's a fairly "factory mild" 1441 compared to the usual aftermarket 1441 Busa build(cams, head work, etc.)but guess it would have to be for reliability, longevity, warranty, etc.?
-
Yep the zx14 is way better than the genII busa when it comes to power there is no comparing the two.
Its like the difference between the genI to genII busa.
The hp numbesr are great but its the 120 ft lbs of torque that really make you smile.
-
Yep,I guess an extra 100 cc's/20 hp/8 ft. lbs. of torque should be worth .2 at the track(a really good rider here at our local track was doing 9.50's on a totally stock[factory exhaust, etc.]Gen II Busa and 9.30's on a new[1441]totally stock ZX-14 so his average was about a .2 difference). This is with an average DA of around 3,000' at Fontana(today it's 3,400'),unlike those East coast -DA's. :thumb:
When I can afford it I'll either bump my Gen II(Busa)up to a 1441 or just a good head/cam package, not sure which yet(or just jump ship and get a new ZX-14 ).
-
I would stick to the busa if I were you. They have got it down to a science.
Its cheap to put a 3mm kit on it and you'll be 1441 just like the zx14. I went to the track on my zx14 last night and was able to let busa's go and still catch them.
The GenII busa's are not joke when setup right though.
-
That's probably what I'll end up doing, can't afford to start over.
-
Great posts

Our regular is $2.30 and Premium is $2.85. As of March 2nd.
-
Good ol' CA at a $1.00 a gal. higher, you'd think they'd pass out some free grease.
-
Or at least free air......here they charge 75 cents for air. Gimme a break.
Now that I got a new cat-back Flowmaster exhaust on my car and a K&N cold air intake, with Denso Iridiums, I gotta take the octane up a tad. 93 won't
hurt a thing. And I get a small portion of my youth back while waiting for my dang motorcycle.
-
it will be as high as MR12 soon
-
We have one station here in town that sells pure gasoline at $2.69.......it is only 87 octane though.
Down the road in Advance, NC they have all three grades in pure gasoline - zero ethanol.
