The purpose of this list is twofold:
1. To recognize the 200+ riders for having the passion/obsession & stamina to achieve 200mph on asphalt.
2. To energize those people to go even faster by making it easy to see how close competition is.

I'm just askin.......

In some race associations, if you set a record with
a 1000cc motor that is faster that the 1350, 1650 cc
records, you also "get" the "bigger" records, too.

So, I'm askin': if you get 200 on a 1/4 mile of
pavement, does that apply to 1/2 mile, 1.o mile,
1.3 mile, etc. ?

No is fine.

Better to make the decision now.....?

A. anyone who has tried going 200 knows it is harder than it seems.

I easily sit up at 160.
I can sit up at 180, not advisable but i've done it.
B. I cannot sit up at 200.

So for me, and apparently Tom who started the "over 200" list there is something a lil magic about 200.

If there a purpose for maintaining a bunch of other lists, please state the specific purpose for ea list and then get after it. :thumb:

I have spent a career in project management and the
1st question we ALWAYS ask before we start doing anything, is "why are we doing this?"
2nd question is "do we have customers who will pay for this effort?"

Honestly, i see very few customers for most lists other than over 200 = idle curiosity

Its very rare to run "halves"over here and it was only tried for a few meetings in 2011,Phil was by far the fastest on his turbo busa dragbike.

Things must be getting blurry because I was at that meeting but did not remember H running the speed but it is definitely in the results :tu:

Thing is most of these bikes are setup for the 1-Mile so they use 1/2-mile for testing. I think if changes were made for the 1/2-mile ONLY, speeds would go up for most..

The video on the right side of the screen about a page and a half down shows the fastest vehicles in the event. If that is a N/A Busa it must be really, really built.

The H2R/car grudge runs weren't done from the 1/2-mile start point. They were done 140-158' before the 1/2-mile times. However, those events don't excactly run everything from the same spot so IMO the results are all questionable.

would do OVER 200 mph in the 0.0 mile.

Not fast for a $50,000 bike,
but not bad for "buy it and drive it....."

Post by: RansomT on August 21, 2017, 08:04:41 AM: Just back from doing a Shift-Sector 1/2 mile event outside of Indy. Went a 211.47 on my first day. I had air shifter issues on my second day that got in the way of me doing a faster run, kept killing the engine and blowing the airbox off into my chest with a nitrous backfire.

Now I do want to make public clarification. The Shift-Sector folks were all excited about my 211 run. I was excited because the bike drove straight and it was a nice clean pass. Well anyway, they apparently never had a bike at any of their venues over the years nor with the wannaGOFAST venues ever to break 210. So they have made a big deal about it on all their social media stuff, etc... about it being the fastest 1/2 mile pass at a 1/2 mile only event.
