This is cool I know where Texas and Maxton is but not sure about the other two :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Peter , was the "flying Dutchmans" 265mph run over the standing mile ?
-
No, Frank has never run a mile-course. The 265 was on the full runway at Elvington which I think is around 1.3miles, have to check.
-
One day, I will be on this list! :woot:
Thanks Tom!

I think that's pretty fast over any distance. Outstanding. :thumb:

Tom,
It was a pleasure meeting you at Texas. I want to thank you again for "The List" and the Shootout you organized at The Mile. I did not get to compete in the shootout as hoped, but will work on getting a ride together for March.
As for "The List", I believe it is a strong motivator and great for the LSR community both US and abroad. I, like many, have been watching our once proud standings drop like the stock market. This only fuels my desire to get something together to challenge myself and others on "The List".
Keep up the great work, your efforts are commended well beyond internet forums. See you in March!
Scott

Yea, I'm #24. Now show me just the nitrous boys. Now what's my number? :kickass:
And Charlie, just 0.433 away....Buwahahahahaha

It was my pleasure meeting you, professional set up at your pits, very impressive :thumb: Glad you're planning on returning, say the word and I'll add you to the shootout :thumb: The list is what it is, a motivator, hopefully we can all continue to climb on the list and "push" this sport to new heights!

I guess I made the list by the air of my chinny chin chin. Its actually 203.85 mph though....hey every little bit helps....I go from #90 to #88, lol.
And George Beaver's bike went 203.666, but he's superstitious and has it as 203.665 I think on his bike...I'll find out who was riding it. It may be "doug" as a lightweight guy named Doug rode his bike to 203.xx mph....#93 maybe?
A.

I'm 57th! At least I'm still in the top half of the list.
Thanks for keeping the list updated.

I need to quite messing around and get on the list in 09 :D

Damn!
Tom corrected it!
He had me ahead of Yancy for a year by mistake!
I always got a kick out of that, because I know how happy Rich was to be ahead of me, even by just a little.
Oh well, Rich deserves it, a hell of a nice guy who has done lots of hard work and given me TONS of advice and help over the years.
When we were going for top speed of the year last year he offered to bring me parts & tires when he knew we were going head to head.
A true gentleman.

Walt,
So you knew you were placed wrong but let it slide anyways???? Hmmmmm. Now you make me wonder.
You're right though, Rich is a TRUE gentleman.
Guy
-
Oh yeah, I knew! LOL! The mph figures were always correct, though. They are the same as they are now. It's just that he switched the PLACES around. It was there for anyone to see. If he had the wrong mph for me or Rich I would have told him immediately, of course. I wouldn't enjoy it if I didn't come by it honestly. I just thought it was funny being ahead (even if it was incorrect!) since I know how much Rich enjoyed beating me! I don't expect to be on the top 10 anymore after Texas anyways. Fun while it lasted.

Thanks for the great list. It's nice to see the big picture. I hope to move up the list this year :D

lol. funny thought. what would it take to get a 400lb. man over 200 at maxton!? (other than a 3rd job and a diet) :vl:
-
No less than 300HP and a slight tailwind according to my wind drag cooefficient calculations. Are you wide or tall and bulky? Not trying to be funny but it matters if you are serious.
Guy

Great job Tom, keeping the list updated. I am just glad to be on the list and there should be plenty of changes after the weekend. Good luck to everyone.

Guy
can't not be wide, but 6'4"..... and i prefer broad lol. and yeah, something i've always wanted to do. i figure with HP and gear ratio anythings possible.
-
oh yeah, lots of $ too!!
-
300HP and some rider tuck training and you should be able to go 200mph. Maybe a lower tank and a taller profile tire. Gearing isn't the issue, the gear will have to be about an 18/43 with 300HP minimum. It's torque to move the mass thru the airstream.
-
you your saying a big bore kit and SC would do it?
i can't find a SC kit for the Gen II.
-
Actually a small turbo or a 1397kit with a 100shot would do nicely. If you tried it with 250HP, and your tuck was awesome, a cut tank, 60lbs front tire, 55lbs rear tire, 15mph tailwind, tight leathers, a laxative the night before, you could possibly hit it.
-
a laxative the night before, you could possibly hit it.
:hys:
LMAO! nice. actually a quality big bore and spray is something to work at. i don't trust turbos and i would rather over do it and blow my goal away, then just squeek by. a few bike mods would obviously be needed like the tank and tires, but i like the NOS idea. even if my heart really desires a SC, it would be nice to be able to contain the beast and only let it out when i wanted to, instead of dealing with it all the time.
-
When you get serious about this, let me know. I'll help all I can.
-
i have family in Pitt. where i'm from. it'll be xmas at the earliest. i can tell you that. we used to drag in Ohio on the weekends. thanks. always good to have things to work for!

What does it say for 220lb. man with pretty good aero...? Are those RWHP numbers...?
PM me if you have time... :thumb:

Quite an elite list, Tom. I wish there was a way we could connect screen names to the few that we have here. I realize that some do not post here at all, though.
I would truly love to make that list someday!
Congratulations to all! :thumb: :thumb:
-
Thanks Cookie, you should try it, I added some screen names and will continue :thumb:
-
Great list. All the hard work is now done. How about some more detail on the members. For instance #35 is a N2O ZX-12 #36 is an all motor Busa and #37 is a twin-engine fuel Harley. I'm sure we could fill in all the bikes with the members help. LSL

Thanks Cookie, you should try it, I added some screen names and will continue :thumb:
You know, Tom, having been gone for a while and now back I am reading a lot and gaining inspiration from a lot of great people here, especially with what is going on with advancements in the ECM department,, knowing Guy Caputo and a few others here personally,, I may just shoot for becoming one of the elite someday soon! :thumb: :thumb:
-
I'll have no problem with adding some details :thumb:
I hope to be adding some freinds names to the list Sunday night too.
-
lets play leap frog :woot: or maybe duck duck goose?

Cant wait to see the updated list. I'll be close to the bottom but I will be there. :bwdwn:
-
I would truly love to make that list someday!
lets make a deal. by summer 2010 we do 200 in texas or at maxton. you and me cookie! we'll look like the number 10 riding down the road lane splitting. :thumb:
-
Lots of people to add as I get the numbers :thumb:
-
I just hope I can hang in the top 25. I'm just glad to see some many foks getting some satisfaction for all the work it takes to do this. Nobody hurt. Excellent weekend no doubt. :thumb: :thumb:

Okay dammit, I'm back home and I've had time to think it over. The van I drove there almost drove me to financial ruin, but I will most likely be back in the fall. Stock gears kept me from hauling ass. It's ON NOW! lol

It's in the For Sale section. I'm only selling the drivetrain. Small block Chevy type engine (401ci), 106mm turbo, injected, FAST engine management, Dedenbear glide. Took a 3,150 pound car 6.87 @ 210 in the quarter. 4.59 @ 164 in the eighth. I wanna go fast on bikes these days. Open to trades of just about anything.

Totally different animals, going 200 in the 1/4 is like going 250 in the Mile though. Those guys are VERY impressive, my best is 189 in the 1/4 and it's a LONG ways from 200.

Jack Frost improved his best mile time yesterday running 250.0mph at Elvington for a course record. They are also running today so I'll put the final speeds later.
Also got another guy (Stewart?) 1st time out on a turbo bike has run 228mph or so more details later on that :thumb:

Frosty's speed is a course record and I believe Lloyd Davies is now the fastest N/A bike in the UK. Jack Frost now holds the course record for both the woodbridge and Elvington mile courses :thumb:

I wish I had quoted the list way back when I was a lot further up on it. :hys:
You guys are getting too damn fast out there. I need to pull off a decent weekend to try and get back in the game again. It's getting where a man needs to run 250 just to show his face in public anymore. :bah: :P

No they are only kept on record as far as i know by one of the timekeepers Helen Greathead of Straightliners, but i have seen them also posted on this UK Busa site http://www.ukbusas.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=307978 (http://www.ukbusas.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=307978) which i think lists your name as the record keeper ? , You will / may need to sign up to veiw the list ?
there is also going to be mile runs at Elvington, Honnington and Woodbridge during 2010 please see this link for more info http://www.uklandspeedracingassociation.co.uk/ (http://www.uklandspeedracingassociation.co.uk/) for more info.

Where has Conservative/Constructive America gone? It's not in the whitehouse and it's not in this tread. Everything always has to be a fight..... I talked to Scott before Tom had even picked up his timing slip, he like myself was very excited for TOM. I don't know who Tom talked to about he said she said but I have an idea and it wasn't the horses mouth. My opinion and it means absolutely nothing but relax enjoy the moment it is very cool for the man that just did the deed. HUGE CONGRATS AGAIN TOMMY
I two hope Bill get his bugs worked out.... 255 naked is sweet.... Whats going on with Ben anyone?

i respect anyone who races and :bwdwn: to all those at the top of the game. the levels you guys are pushing these machines is completely unbelievable. just like the prostreet ama guys. just when you think it completely impossible to go faster............someone does :bah: . i do hate sore losers that should instead be using the competition to make themselves better

That's what you meant, right ?
bingo! guy kicks your ass. you go back to the lab. come back and lay it down :thumb:

A good rule of thumb:
Avoid attacking people in a public forum, based on hearsay information. Particularly if it is possible to directly communicate with the party in question.
Wars are started and lost, based on hearsay information. Food for thought.
That being said, congratulations to all of the racers, and especially TrickTom and Bill Warner for their outstanding accomplishments! This season is shaping up to be a great one! :thumb:

Yep

SCOTT GUTHRIE I have only been able to muster 249.99mph can I not get respect ?

I am not biased in any way , but would like to offer my opinion..
We are all very proud of our bikes ,speeds, records etc... Also very competitive , who knows who said what & how/if was kept in context if anything at all.
Everybody works to hard to put in the blood sweat & tears to have some little bullshit to take away from your/our accomplishments...
Also if someone says/congratulates me on anything then I hear thru the grapevine this individual is saying something totally different behind my back then what does it matter if they were not man enough to say to my face....I.M.O There word would not mean shit !!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your record/accomplishments & dont let any schoolyard he said she said bullshit water them down..(unbiased/all parties invlved) :thumb: :thumb:
THEN AGAIN MAYBE IM JUST DICKHEAD.......

OH YEAH TOM MAD PROPS ON THE RECORD...... :thumb: :thumb:

Just a couple of things from #20-
Tom, relax and savor every minute of your time on top. That's what it's about in my opinion. I was so proud when your time popped up that it literally brought a tear to my 150 lb. macho badass eyes. Just like everyone else before, you have the record now and your having had it can never be taken away. You made history.
Scott- Your 251 at Texas was on the books when Tom and I were making our first LSR passes ever. You've been there and done it long before I even thought about giving it a try. I can't speak for Tom, but I'll bet he's been reverent of your accomplishments all this time just like me and a million others following this thing now. That's an aside from this public jousting, but maybe it will help. I read it all and get the points you both are making. I hope you two work it out and you BOTH come out smelling like roses and at peace. We're a tight community and we do all have egos. I do and I'm not even in the respected top 10.
They still sell beer in America as far as I know. Let's all go get one and tilt it in honor of LSR and the people who have the guts to hang it in the wind with no seatbelt and windshield.

Good lord! I agree with you wholeheartedly!
This is a SPORT, Gentlemen! Please cease acting like women haggling about their sewing circles!
Pat each other on the back with congratulatory glee and shoot for the next accomplishment!
It isn't how we accomplish the feat,, moreover - it is how the feat is accomplished. And without those around us to learn from and strengthen us,, we would simply be nothing.

Well done bro
I hope to take part next time again.
Damn, its a long and expensive way to the UK from here :?
-
many thanks for posting these Mikey, it feels good to be moving up the list again. Congrats to Mark, Wornrear, at 210 as it was a difficult day with a gusting sidewind. My first try out of my Stage2 BigCC turbo Gen2. There were some fun runs spinning up in 5th and then not able to change into 6th, but ran 207 twice like that. Then a 209 in 6th short shifted. And all on only 2 stages of boost 6 + 12psi - hopefully more to come as it's built to take 500+ . Not bad for a road bike :vl:

I already have and have sent PMs to everyone faster than me. I want them on my team.
-
Man, this list is getting long. It's cool to see so many people that have had a chance to get into the old, slow, 200 club.
The sport is growing (and apparently leaving me behind). Hey, I'm still hanging at #20 even after all the high-end speed jockey shuffling as of late.

Be very proud that you are on list because of a bike that you built and rode no matter how far you have fallen :thumb:
-
Any body who is on the list should be very proud, whether you are #1 or the last one on the list. Last time I looked there were around 180 or so on the list. Think about it, there are only 180 or so people in the world that have an official time slip over 200mph in a standing mile. Pretty rare air we are in.
Fred
ps thanks to Tom for keeping this list for us. :thumb:

I have moved down two places from 114 to 116 , i am still happy a that :thumb:
We are having another meeting over here ( England ) at Elvington on the 22/23 August , again running miles so there maybe a few more up`s and downs on that weekend.

Good luck Barry :thumb:

Thrown loads of ŁŁŁŁ at it, going ok so far i am running a 1441 gen1 busa set up, 211bhp / 125lbs torque, 9.79 over the 1/4 @ 155mph, results for the mile as above, not done a top speed run since it was a 1397 motor which ran 208mph ... not sure what this new set up will do ??? ( over a distance longer than a mile )
thanks

cmon Bazz, tell the truth, you want a Gen2 really, you're just building it by stealth - like Johnny Cash - one piece at a time :hys:
-
The reason i dont want a turbo is your running against the likes of Jack frost over here ... and what chance have "I " or "you" got at going faster than him :hys: also getting in the top 20 of that list ? ZERO :)
If i had a turbo thats where i would want to be ... in the top twenty ... nothing less. how much would i need to spend then Ł20k ???
at the moment my busa must be one of the fastest N/A bikes in the UK not sure about in the States ?? I have only run it now at two meetings this year first one 204mph second meeting 197, i was still faster than lots of the turbo bikes running on both of those days ...
so i am very competetive as i am now with this bike and thats where i would like to stay 8)
And No SLO8 for me
-
Congratz to all :thumb:
-
don't protest too hard
and as you know, mine is a pure road bike that will get all sorts of use, maybe even a bit of touring. So I will be seeing exactly how fast I have the balls to ride as I simply cannot gear it any higher than about 240 with a maximum of 18/38 gearing. Under optimum conditions and my bulk I'll be more than pleased with around 220
-
and my 1441c :)
-
black has been scientifically proven over the years to be the fastest colour :hys:
-
220mph would give you 40th position ( ish ) on the list ..... still 20 places to jump and you will need a BIG spring board to get there :hys:

my target is to beat my best, there are all types of bikes and riders on here - home built, team built, owner rider, borrowed ride. Small jockeys, large jockeys, male and female, we are all different and what is easily achievable by a 140lb rider will be unattainalbe by a 210lb rider - namely me.
It's all numbers, anyone who has managed to throw a leg over a bike and ride the hell out of a bike as fast as they humanly can deserves all the respect and kudos, along with the knowledge that they have gotten their name onto a list that proves that they did it. No bar-room cowboys making idle boasts of how fast they ran, once your name is on the list it proves you did it.
There are some insane speeds on here, I reckon anything over 225 has to be of special merit, when I ran my turbo for the first time it was spinning up in 5th and then only managed just short of 210. How can someone ride at over 240, let alone these guys running 270, is beyond me - I have no aspiration to emulate them (my balls aren't big enough)
200mph + at a mile is still amazing. :)

Both of ya'lls enthusiasm is what the list is all about. I had a hunger to climb the list because it was fun to go fast. The people that think that they are better or smarter than someone that is below them is truely missing the point! If you feel like I just stepped on your(anyones) toes than you must be missing something in life that this won't fix. To me it was about self achievement by learning, building, and best of all RIDING!

Thank you Tom for that :thumb:
Just like to give a bit of praise to: 18th on the list Shane Wogan he ran 237.200 mph, Shane has only got one arm , a big well done to him.

Does he drag race too? Riding with one arm is impressive, even more that he's racing :thumb:
-
Testament to the unstoppable will of the racer :thumb:
Congrats Mr Wogan, keep up the good work.
-
All of Shane's controls are on the left bar, along with a forward rotating throttle.
As I walked the pits before racing, he was there sorting out his bike, what he was doing all alone was fitting a new chain! I have to assume someone rivetted it for him - but it's likely he managed it himself.
Absolutely amazing spirit and it goes to show how dogged determination can overcome significant obstacles.
He has my total respect.

Wow! 203 on a Zx14 all motor is doing something,
can you fill us in on mods or if there was any tailwind action?
It is a standing mile correct? Thanks!

Hi
Yes its a stock motor, he has a 4-1 system fitted as you can see from the photo.
there was a 10 - 15 mph tail wind at times, it was also a pretty hot sunny day, not too good for the turbo bikes running
Yes it was a standing mile, as we over here are trying to compete with you guys over there.
Also a bit of confusion now over that BMW S1000RR that was running from the Performance Bike Magazine :?
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/New-bikes/2010/September/sep0110-standard-bmw-s1000rr-reaches-197mph (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/New-bikes/2010/September/sep0110-standard-bmw-s1000rr-reaches-197mph)
-
Pretty sure the BMW S1000RR speed was not reached in a standing mile. The bike is fast as hell, though!
Not really sure why the 186 limiter is not in place, like it was for the bikes that remain at or under that speed. Maybe they just tricked the limiter with gearing...

they wrote on their web site the following:
Elvington/Brunters cock-up
Thanks for the comments about wind speeds. I've double-checked with the Performance Bikes guys and I've made a mistake in the story above. Apparently the standard runs (just tape and smaller sprocket) were done on a windless day at Bruntingthorpe, while the non-standard (Power Commander, Akropovic etc) were done at Elvington when you guys saw it. Sorry for the confusion...

Any reports? Did it get rained out?
Some info on our Sullfolk mile from yesterday 10th October.
Only five riders over 200mph, we had Neil Homes turbo busa 211.54, Lloyd Davies on his 1630cc busa 212.03, Barry Miller 203.9 on a 1441cc busa, Greg Haywood on his nitrous busa 205.22, with the glory of the day going to "ZED HEAD" Ian Cleminsaw on his home built ZZR1100 turbo 223.60 mph on his last run.
We met Mike Nightrider at the meeting who came across from Germany, the weather was nice and sunny with 9mph tail / cross wind at times, this was the last meeting now for us over here,
We thought we was going to have a showing of that BMW S1000RR bike again that did 202mph at Elvington earlier on in August from performance bike magazine, but there was no showing of it.

Excellent, congrats to all, 223 on a ZZR1100 is hauling ass :thumb:

That run did get my attention likewise. I would like to see a follow up run of 202+ on a nearly stock S1000RR.

Tom, my best pass this weekend at the Texas Mile was 221.6mph with my turbo Busa.
Aaron Brown. Previous was 211.4 in March. Thanks for keeping the list updated
-
That just moved me down the list(again).
Cant wait for March!
-
Tom,
this list is GREAT! Thanks for maintaining it.
:thumb:
when you get time, could you move me up from 215 @ Mojave to 218.7 @ Maxton?
BTW: its looking good for joining you and the Houston crew at HRP on Sun pm.
Zero changes from Texas/Maxton.
Running LSR set up (20/43) at the 1/4mi... this oughta be interestin'
(If i had a 16t f spkt, it sure would be easier getting outa the hole)

I'll update it today, great see you tomorrow :thumb:

Tom, can you please change the title "Suffolk Mile Track Record" to Ian Cleminshaw.
Sad but true

Hey Mike thanks for the praise :thumb:
I'm looking forward to next season when we should start to really raise the record :TNOS:

As I read this today, we need 6 more fast folks to make the 2 club list have 200 members. Somebody get busy out there. :P

Hey, Russ! :thumb:
-
Good eyes, Russ! I hope that in 2011 that comes true. 200 people over 200 mph in the mile.
I just noticed Noonan bumped me again!
I couldn't be bumped by a better competitor. It was great seeing him at the PRI Show last week. Too short of a visit, though, I must say. I had never seen his products before in person, and they were very, very impressive. Gas ported, coated, great design, all good. And every time I went by the booth he was busy and had lots of traffic, a good sign in this economy.
As for the list, ah well, progress is good! Someday I won't even be in the top 20, or even 50, or 100! That's awesome. As long as Tom doesn't limit it to the amount of people on the list, I can hang in there for a while. Thanks for doing this Tom. A real labor of love. I think this list has become the definitive pavement LSR list that everyone enjoys because it shows exactly where you stand. No classes, no qualifiers, no BS. Just "How fast have you gone?", period. Cool stuff.
Walt

One of these days I would like to join the crew.
Hey, Walt! :thumb:

It would be cool to be the 200th to achieve 200! 8)
-
Hey Chris! Just go for it. Guys are doing it these days with just 200 hp. Everything else is just gravy.
Walt- I hear ya. I was well into the top 20 until all this talent started showing up. Hey, I haven't caught up with you yet. I'm probably retired from racing now (but I've said that before). A year (so far) without a job has kept me away from the track. But then, the 250 club calls. Now that I've been faster than I ever dreamed I could back when I was thinking about trying it, I've chilled and now I'm truly happy every time someone makes it.
I can brag about one thing still though- I got in the club on my very first LSR pass. Ain't I cool?
-

I am proud of you of achieving LIFE,, against all unmistakable odds! That is a title worthy of every point of recognition.
-
Holy CRAP Russ! I never knew that! That is damned impressive. And even if someone else has done that, you may be the highest on the list to have done that on his first pass! Cool stuff!
I think I was just the 11th person to go 200 mph at his first VISIT to Maxton, according to my friend who researched it at the time, and then my second visit I got in the 200 Club, with a lot of help from DaveO, Scott Guthrie, Jason Gennaro, Ken Klein, and somebody named Bill Warner, I think.
And your right Chris, Russ has come back from a horrific crash that would have just devastated many a lesser man.
Yeah, I am retired too Russ, permanently. I enjoy going to the races so much more now, I can't even tell you. Two years ago, when he "retired", Scott Guthrie came up next to me and said something to the effect of, and I am paraphrasing here, "Isn't this allot more enjoyable than when we were racing? Lets go get lunch!" And it was so true. No stress, no aggravation, time to volunteer more, socialize and see friends. I am content with my place on "the list".
Walt
-
I need to clarify so I don't mislead here: I ran 200.xxx on my first pass. The 233 came a few years later after the crash and on the bike I have now. I always tried to act cool like I was fearless, but guess what? It's not true. That first pass back after the crash on a new bike making 200+ more hp than my old, mild, 285 hp Ghetto stage 1 was a seat ripping pucker fest. It was scarier than jumping out of a plane for the first time. I think a little fear is good. Getting too comfy is probably what got me the first time around.
I hear ya on the not stressing over racing at the track. I'm so high strung that I wasn't having that much fun. Tuning and testing and all that for weeks up until the last minute wears me out. I haven't been able to have everything dialed and just ready to unload and race in years. It would be cool to only have to think about how to make a pass and not worry about 20 things on the bike that have to all work together to make it happen. I think I'll just take up crochet and make afgans for the racers. Cheaper.
-
This list is now known all over, and to think there was so much contraversy over it when I made it up just to see where I ranked that I had to start a new thread to get away from a fews drama. Whenever I'm done I'll pass the torch to someone else and have no plans of having a limit to how many people are allowed. :thumb:
-
Tom can you put me on the list? 581 was my number. Oct 22-24 2010. (http://)

added Dave, sorry but Texas has been the worst about getting the results posted.

Congratulations, Dave Roisen! 200.3 :tu:

besides being a really nice, soft spoken guy, coming all the way from somewhere WAY up North, Dave hit 200 on his first time to the Mile NA. How many of us can say the same???? Not me, that's for sure.

Congratulation Dave it was a joy meeting you and your friends, you did a awesome Job in some of the worse weather we have had at Texas

Thanks again guys!! LSR people are very willing to help others and thats why it will be a new venue for me.
I am working to many hours in July to go very far. But Texas in October is the plan for 2011.
I am also putting some compression is my motor and making some little tweaks!!

Some results here Tom from last Sunday at Elvington.
We had someone have a bad spill on a K10 Busa, rear tyre exploded at 176mph,, the rider has spent four days in Hospital and is out now, bike a total write off, frame snapped in the crash. there was a lot of riders having problems with there bikes, no boost, not running on all four, etc , etc ....
these are Miile speeds below , Ian Cleminshaw ran 230.1 @ the mile on his home brew ZZ1100 turbo, there was going to be a meeting this weekend at RAF Honington in Suffolk , thats now been cancelled as there is some military activity going to be held at the base ( RAF )

Definately an Avon, I think it was a storm.

don't do that again. Try a Conti race attack tire.
Bill
-
Conti for sure next time. I like the Avon because I got almost 11K comuter miles out of a rear!
-
I have the Maxton May results updated on my spreadsheet and will update list tonight.

ding-DANG it; i dropped to 51 with my measly 218 :( waaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

yes it is,,, but I am on a budget , and the list doesnt discriminate ....

I know that. :D and I certainly did not mean to dis your accomplishment. 218 is 218 anyway you can get it. Way faster than I have run in a mile. Congratulations.

Maybe it's just the perspective, but it looked like he was on the very L side of the track with a R crosswind??
Probably these watery ole eyes just aren't seeing it right.
Horrible accident.
Did the rider slide off the pavement?

Your right thats how he Ian was running, not sure where he ended up on the grass or on the runway ?

Scary, glad that he's okay.

What kind of tire, pressure, trash on track, cause?

42 / 42 psii
tyre just failed, blew off the wheel total.
-
Nasty, glad the rider is not too badly hurt.
-
Glad the rider is ok.
He didn't have a plug in the tire by chance did he?
-
He is OK ( ish ) now, no plug in the rear tyre, the tyre just gave up the ghost, exploded as you seen in the video, and came off the wheel :(
-
Wow, definitely glad he's ok. The bike launched about 15' off the ground.
Hope he comes back to race again.

Heres a photo of the tyre, or whats lef of it.

No updates needs from this past weekends race in Texas :td:
I'm going to change the list since Texas is using a different track. GOL - Goliad, Texas for the old track and BEE - Beeville, Texas for the new. It's going to be hard to go faster at the new track without some surface improvements and a tail wind.

We are running the mile over here tomorrow 5th July @ Elvington, England.
-
How's it go over there? Rained out?
-
Over lunch I was looking at the list and wondering how the shape of the speed curve might look. Skewed for sure, but are there natural breaks in the line? Not really. The top end gets steep, but in general it looks like a smooth logarithmic function.
-
dean, very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumb:
how about an S curve with P10, P50, P90
-
Heh? Lost me :)
-
Heh? Lost me :)
you should be doing simulations, not using hard data, but i don't know why it wouldn't work for hard data
P10 = at what speed are 10% of the riders likely to be over that speed, 90% under
P50 = at what speed are 50% of the riders likely to be over that speed, 50% under
P90 = at what speed are 90% of the riders likely to be over that speed, 10% under
If you do that for all percentages and plot it, it will resemble a forward leaning S.
just replace increasing cost with increasing speed... sort of.

Interesting. How about I send you the data

Dean that looks like one of my old launch ramps back when i was a skate punk :tu:

We wont be back to the Texas Mile unless major changes are made to the track. It is not safe for 200+mph motorcycles. Two of the most experienced LSR racers, Karl and Bill Warner, went down at the same place on the track. Does someone have to die before it is fixed or shut down??

Hopefully this new Hennessy track will be better.. I can't stand to see anyone else more less my friends get hurt....

That would be Ellington Field which is a nicer facility and currently used so the upkeep is better. http://www.airnav.com/airport/KEFD
Not to mention its a LOT closer to everything and there is more amenities in the area.

Hi Tom
can you please clarify the fastest/ top speed for the standing mile for a Normally Aspirated/all motor on your list........... as I've just confirmed my best/top speed of 222.8mph in a standing mile at Elvington, U.K. last Monday 14th May 2012....on my "Big CC built" 1630cc NORMALLY ASPIRATED road legal Hayabusa....
As the current list shows ....
43 Lloyd Davies 222.800 WOOD 09
44 Todd Dross (Narider) 222.160 MAX 09
45 Rick Stetson 222.123 MAX ****FASTEST NORMALLY ASPIRATED****
Thanks Lloyd
B.T.W. Tom
i managed 225.4mph in 1.4miles :D
-
LLoyd,
Tom's list shows the fastest speeds for individuals and doesn't always repeat an individual when they set a lower speed record for example fastest NA.
my NA list is:
MPS/G-3000 - 227.238 (Mark Deluca on a 1635?), 2009 Maxton (i believe this is the fastest Mile NA)
MPS/G-1650 - 224.6 (Karl Gunter), 2012 Texas Mile (i believe i am NA 1st Loser, but Mark rode in MPS/F several times over 224 without spraying, so i am not sure
?????????222.12 (Rick Stetson) Maxton this doesn't seem to show up on the Maxton record list
MPS/G-1650 - 221.827 (Chad Millholland); 2008 Maxton

It was March 2010 I did a bunch of over 250 naked runs, best was 255.1
minor thing, Wild Bro is really WildBro
Good idea on just keeping the names, the list was started for the reasons you listed, rider and motovation

Karl, thanks for the updates and for assuming the responsibility for maintaining this list.
Tom thanks for starting this and taking care of it for so long.

Thanks for all your hard work guys! Tommy and now master Karl :tu: keep up the awesome work.
I feel like I should be added to the top ten with my own bike as well in light of all the political mombo this and that... I did build and race my OWN junk at four tracks I only went 254 at texas and 252 at maxton and not so good at Elmo or b-ville ;) .. but it was on my own crap... I've just about had it with all the mine mine mine bs. I'm thankful for every opportunity that I've ever been given. But when you talk to some folks.... It's like oh you were that guy that rode that bike.... Yes I rode a couple different bikes and even more in the past. We are in the end what we make of the issue..
Forest said it best...Life is like a box of chocolates... If you've ever had one you know... There's a couple I won't even try anymore....

Is there a way that the "list" can be updated for
the ECTA Wilmington, Ohio meet, and the
upcoming Loring 1.0 and 1.5 mile meets ?
Neither of these organizations
publish "results" anymore, just "records."
Example: Randy goes 255 MPH on Saturday,
and sets a record.
Billy breaks that record with a 255.5 MPH on Sunday.
Billy holds the record at the end of the meet,
and Randy is mentioned anywhere....
How do we know to add Randy to the list ?
(Assuming he does not inform us.....)
-
Scott,
I agree with you and would love to see a comprehensive, authoritative list of everyone who has done 200mph+ in the Mile.
But it ain't gonna happen with me updating it.
And even with a smart person doing the updating, still highly unlikely.
Data is simply not easily available (as you point out), too many sources with different reporting methodologies.
so...
I view this list as SH.org-centric, aimed at our membership.
It depends on our membership to make me aware of updates.
It adds to our membership as enthusiasts discover this is the only go-to place.
However, this admittedly incomplete list is apparently still very interesting to our "customers", AND it is sustainable.
All that said, i personally am only really interested in what Mike (213.7) and Lloyd (222.6) are doing in relation to Greenie's 224.6 :hys:
(i just added a comment to my line item... :D)
-
If someone can get the data from the events, I'll give it a shot updating in the other threads... ;)

Karl:
I agree with you.
Yes, it is, at this point, almost impossible to maintain
an "exhaustive" list of folks over 200 MPH, especially
if you include GPS, and the many new racing venues
popping up all over the USA and Europe.
Yes, it is essentially SH.org-centric,
so the incompleteness is acceptable.
Yes, the list is VERY interesting to a lot of folks
beyond SH.org.
That may because, even if it is not "complete,"
it is the best in the world at this point.
Tom gets the credit for "taking the flack"
and making it work, all these years !
-
If someone can get the data from the events, I'll give it a shot updating in my other threads... ;)
Josh,
you have plenty to do with the other ones; i will take care of this one.
but
i stand by what i said above, trying to maintain a comprehensive list is a non starter.
Will be initiated with the best of intentions but IMO cannot be maintained.
Too many venues, too much variation in data.
I'd rather have a list which we know the limitations.
-
Sounds good! :thumb:
Karl, can you PIN the other threads below this one in the LSR section so they stay on top?

seems like nice aero set up, and 261.5 is flying. :thumb:
All I need is someone from that event to post on here what the speed measuring equipment was & confirm 1 mile and i will add him to the list.
Scott, if you know those guys, please ask them to post about the event.
BTW: when i look at how that guy got thru 1st & 2nd gears and I compare it with how Bill warner gets it done, i see why Bill runs high 270's and they ran 261.5.
Bill is coming off the line at high rpm and never gets out of the throttle; Bill literally explodes off the line. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
that guy just kinda motored away from the start line.
Some folks who i really respect feel that "exploding" off the line has no benefit compared with "motoring" off the line.
But I 110% know for my NA bike, i lose 2-5 mph by "motoring".
So I am assuming the same or even greater benefit for turbos; just an assumption :D
-
I have experienced the same thing Karl. If I ease off the line my speeds are always lower then a spirited launch...
-
I have experienced the same thing Karl. If I ease off the line my speeds are always lower then a spirited launch...
Josh,
you will find there is a group of real smart guys who have a buncha logic that says 'spirited" launches gain nothing.
My logs show that for my bike, "getting outa the hole like yr ass is on fire", definitely gains mph.
Karl

His previous run was a 253 MPH
No reason this ZX14 should not see
275 MPH this summer.
Interesting nose-mounted turbo system.
Attention getting aero.........

"Finnish results are mainly measured by GPS and radar..."
I have asked Mika to post up his full message to me
Personally, i would love to hear more about the Finnish events!!!!! :thumb: :tu: :thumb: :tu:
-
Ok, here is the message i sent.
Hi. There seems to be some interest for Finnish LSR results, or is it only what Scott has found out ? I have participated nearly all events last years, was in Joensuu yesterday and witnessed that kawasaki run. Situation is this, Finnish results are mainly measured by GPS and radar, GPS devices are mostly Racelogic Performance box and Drift box which measures at 10hz rate, NOS-busa-team had also Motec 20hz GPS and they ran 248.362. That is why i am asking these things also on topic i started. Now, there has been only one attempt to measure by some speed traps, i don`t know what was the equipment used, my time went with my bike and driving. So, do you accept these results ? We can send data from P-box to verify the results. There was also a run by Finnish lady Marjut Kiiskilä, who ran 226.738mph with turbo-busa, i think that is best for females around here.
Finnish list is maintained by hayabusa enthusiasts at busanistit.org
http://www.busanistit.org/foorumi/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=36;t=3801
Mika,
And what comes to the distance where speed is measured, it can be read in P-box data file. Kawasaki driver let off the throttle at 1490m when sidewind was lifting the front end.
-
260+ on a KAWASKI?
There is proof-positive we can't trust the GPS :hys:
Just kidding Mika.
I am sure i am not alone in wanting to hear more about what is going on in Finland LSR.
I won't put GPS speeds on the over 200mph list, bc too many variables.
But, i made a special temporary note for that bike. if you get the guy who ran that speed to come on SH.org and say something, i'll leave it there.
If English is a problem, he can do the post in Spanish
hmmmmmm...
how to deal with an exception...
hmmmmmm...
-
Can't take his speed if he had 261.5 @ 1490 meters and shut down, that is .925 miles.
Bill
-
I temporarily added:
"4.1 Jorma Karjalainen 261.5 FIN 12 **** GPS HONORABLE MENTION, KAWASAKI"
But...
1. it'll be taken off the list if Jorma doesn't come on SH.org and post a lil story of his pass.
2. it'll be taken off the list if a bunch of SH.org members piss & moan a whole bunch.
Unfortunately GPS introduces at least 2 unknowns, i.e. what was distance?, how accurate is MPH?
Therefore we can't put GPS results on this list.
-
4.1 Jorma Karjalainen 261.5 FIN 12 **** GPS HONORABLE MENTION, KAWASAKI
I officially protest.
His speed must be taken from the mile mark, no sooner no later. The name of the list is standing mile and ALL that have been on it have there speed taken AT the mile.

+1 :tu:
I'll bet this guy did go fast, but we've got to keep it apples to apples here in order to retain the value of the list. Yeah, yeah....he would have knocked me down the list another spot....

Ok, the jury has spoken. I understand your point very well. As we "speak" there is some development going on and next weekend they are testing some speed traps at the same location but with cars only event. Maybe next season we have some comparable results to show you.
It`s been a subject of discussion here also that if somebody gets, let`s say 220mph at mile marker and other driver gets better run and 230mph much earlier but engine breaks and speed slows down to 210mph to mile, he was faster but... That makes standing mile a endurance competition.
Here is another run, fastest busa on that day, team TFM:

:tu: Nice run, ~247 in just over 1mile (1700m is 1 mile and 99yards). @ the mile he was most likely very close to the top speed. 250 on NOS is around the corner.
I really hope you guys get the timed mile worked out, you all deserve to be on the list.
you guys are kicking ass!
Bill
-
Ok, thanks. It seems that Jarim has posted the same link on another topic, he is very steady driver, nothing extra fuss leaving the starting line, just go, and fast.
Can you give some more details about the timing equipment and settings ? So we can make sure they are set properly, when ready.
-
I won't be taking credit for that run, that was our team's 2nd driver Antti Pietilä. :tu:
... and to add, PerformanceBox data from our best runs here: http://www.hiekkalaatikko.org/Finnish_Topspeed_Data (http://www.hiekkalaatikko.org/Finnish_Topspeed_Data)
TFM Taxi (Hayabusa Gen1 1570cc NOS):
Antti Pietilä: 397.41 kmh @ 1609.34m, Top Speed: 398.94 kmh @ 1712.76m
(Joensuu 30.6.2012)
Jari Määttä: 390.09 kmh @ 1609.34m, Top Speed: 390.14 kmh @ 1626.22m
Teemu Tenhula: 387.52 kmh @ 1609.34m, Top Speed: 388.37 kmh @ 1630.59m
(Halli 20.8.2011)
Hayabusa Gen1 1441cc NOS:
Jari Määttä: 354.94 kmh @ 1609.34m, Top Speed: 361.09 kmh @ 1587.71m
(Halli 16.6.2012, braking point was set too close)
Last one is my "daily commuter". 117700 km on the odo and still runs fine... :)

Was there any timing equipment or are these GPS speeds?
-
PerformanceBox (10Hz GPS). Download Performance Tools sw from here: http://www.performancebox.co.uk/dlsoftware.html (http://www.performancebox.co.uk/dlsoftware.html), download the data files from the link above and examine yourself. :) I think those are "accurate enough".

Just one more list Bill.... j/k
Before we go to "standing Kilo"
or "undefined distance" threads,
what about an "Over 200 MPH at Bonneville"
list ?
That's the only way we are going to get
Triumph, Royal Enfield, Vincent,
Harley ,Indian etc.
on a list.
Besides, it will go back to the 60's for
sit-on, naked bikes.
Can we live with the idea that some normal aspired
bikes are faster than many turbo Hayabusae ?
-
Some N/A Busas are faster then a lot of turbo Busas. Fastest bike at World of Speed the last two years was Mark Deluca on the Guppy. All motor
-
What do we do with Frank Gillebaard ?
Frank Gillebaard, Turbo Hayabusa,
Elvington, England, 2006 = 265.400 MPH
IIRC, he was the first over 265 MPH.
Track described as 1.3 or 1.4 miles...........
Not for the mile, not for 1.5 mile......

STANDING MILE OVER 200 LIST
1. we don't do anything about Frank and his 265mph at 1.3 or whatever, this is a 1 mile list = simple.
2. we don't do anything about bonneville, this is a 1 mile list on asphalt = simple
3. this list is SIMPLE: on a motorcycle, over 200mph, at a mile, on pavement, officially measured
personally, i hate nit-picking, drama, chain-jerking, reaching for a rule book, associated bullshit
4. the time slip proof requirement COULD be modified if WE decide; Bill had a great idea, let's sleep on it till after Loring, "yak at the track"
5. man o' man, i am getting real sick of all this talk of lists, let's go racing.

Ran 290.294 Loring 1 mile. Not sure if it counts as track record because of the 311 in the loring 1.5 mile.
Good job to everyone that was there. Enjoyed seeing everyone.
Special thanks to Mike Hooks, (texaszone) for crewing with me.

wow... whenever anyone says 1.3 or 1.4 mile cousre or whatever it kinda makes the whole certified comment an issue... just saying... but lol anyway..... back to it :tu:
Bill AWESOME JOB!!!

Ran 290.294 Loring 1 mile.
Not sure if it counts as track record
because of the 311 in the loring 1.5 mile.
Bill
I would say that the 290.294 is the Loring 1.0 mile track record.
the 1.5 mile course is a different portion of the track.
This is like the SCTA having a track record, and BUB
having a different track record because they use
a different part of the salt, hence a different "track"
Or like running 1/8 mile drag
at the Valdosta 1/4 mile track.

I don't think we can base the answer on portion of the track. Using SCTA as an example, setting a record in the first time mile against a record in the last time mile should not distinguish 2 track records.
Or even worse, left pavement track gets oiled down, so we race on the right side track, new track record??
Plus, I guess I always thought as the salt - as the salt - and the fastest record on the salt was the track record. But could be defined as "event/organisation" track record. Like Jason held the track record, then Richard has it now, but Jason can still clam SCTA track record.
Bill
-
I was going to discuss the various Bonneville track records,
but I remembered this is a 1.0 mile record thread, and that
has nothing to d9o with Bonneville.
SCTA has no 1.0 mile tracks, paved or otherwise.
Seperate thread !

Johnny, Scott is saying it is a track record for the mile.
My question was how do we define track record, since there is a faster speed at the track, but at a differant distance.
If we go by what Scott said about this is a mile list, then we do not consider any other speeds at the venue not at the mile.
So I guess for the "mile list" the definition is fastest speed at the mile at that track.
this case = Loring 1.0, or Loring Mile is the name of the track
There are 2 tracks now that are/will time the mile and the 1.5 (Loring & Mojave) Does this mean there will be track records at the mile and the 1.5 for each of these?
Bill
-
It's just like the new 1/2 mile list... Toms on top from beeville its not a 1/2 only track but it's still on the time slip therefore it counts...
Your 290+ is still Should be on the top of this list regardless of how it reads.... It's still an official time from a respected venue...
My two cents.. :tu:
-
As officially appointed "dictator of the 200mph list, i will add Bill Warner's name/speed to the 200mph with the comment "Loring 1.0 mile track record".
Unfortunately for me, i will NOT add Greenie/Colt's name to the 1mile NA record @ 230.1 because i didn't pay $100 to officially run for 1mile records at Loring.
(230.1 on track equip; 230.1mph on my GPS log).
Thus Greenie/Zack's 227.3 at Wilmington will be listed as the fastest NA speed ever.

Heck, this is a technicality IMO. Where do I send the $100 to get you the record.
A certain someone thinks its okay to buy records so I don't see the problem in doing it for Karl/Colt... ;) :thumb:

The comment section is to note the best of something at this time. So for example, if a racer wants to set a goal for himself to be fastest nitrous, then he/she can find it on the list and go for it. Thats why there is only track records for over all fastest speed and then comments for the few odd-titys... naked, woman, nos, NA, 1000cc. Theres a few comments on the list that could be removed. The idea of putting Lee's info down for first over is cool, but may open the gates for 1st this..1st that and cludder the list. I asked Tom why he kept the GOL track record after it closed and he said because its still there and has not been beat(or something like that, he had a reason and I really wasn't going to arrgue with him :-)

thanks for your comments, i am fixxing em!
I love seeing a 1st post from a new member brought in by the list = Ms Angelpaws = 213.9 :thumb:
-
i'll fix both these issues tonight, thanks for your patience.
you Brits sure have some cool names.
earlier today i saw an FB reference to "Becci Ellis Angelpaws", now I see "tinkerbell"!
Thanks! I'm not sure about Angelpaws but the story behind my name is that my partner's nickname always has been Tink, and so it just seemed right that I became Tinkerbell!
I also have an email from Jack Frost with some runs he has done that need to be included on the list, I'll go through his email and post them up so the list can be ammended... again! - Thanks for the hard work in keeping this updated! :tu: :tu:
-
Ms Tinkerbell,
thanks for the update and a HUGE congrats on being world's fastest woman :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
you really oughta post a pic of you & the bike, this is a HUGE achievement!!!!
everyone,
please keep scrutinizing the list and giving me updates; please don't use long words, i took a short bus to school :hys:
someone: please give me info on current Wilmington track record, Dean????
-
I rode Mark Gordon's naked Busa to 234.090 for the current track record at Ohio. thanks Mark :thumb:
Bill rolled out of the throttle at the 1/2 on a wastegate pass and coasted to a 231...

Thanks Karl! It still hasn't sunk in what I achieved! And I tried posting some pics on the New Worlds Fastest Woman thread on here but couldn't really work out how to do it :(
Just had an email from Jack Frost, he has done:
255mph at Woodbridge in 2008/9 he can't remember which year
257.4mph Elvington 2007
241mph Naked at Woodbridge in 2009
and 237mph Naked in 2011 at Elvington.
He also wonders if there are any 600cc bikes on the list, he ran 196.9mph on a mile at Elvington last month and might try and get that to 200mph if it becomes the fastest 600cc in the world!!!
Thanks for all your trouble :D
-
thanks tinkerbell!
please have Jack swear on a stack of his favorite smutty mags that the speeds were done in a standing mile with laser timing gear, and have him tell us/you what year the 255 was done.
It's real important about measuring gear.
-
please have Jack swear on a stack of his favorite smutty mags
that the speeds were done in a standing mile
with laser timing gear,
Is this somehow better than GPS ?
Is there some way to "reach out"
to the "officials" and get confirmation ?
This gets harder when places like Loring
and Wilmington don't publish speeds
other than records.......
Just get a link to the Elvington and Woodbridge
results, and post the link here, for all to see.................
-
Just emailed him now, will post a reply as soon as I get one back from him
They will be on a mile with timing gear, don't know if there are any records online going back that far, but will have a look and post if I find them :D

hey Scott,
the GPS on my AIMs dash typically matched Track laser speeds within a few tenths, so in my lil experience that GPS is real good.
but
we previously had a long discussion on this and agreed to only use laser speeds for several reasons which escape me now. March head injury :hys:
I have no problem taking people's word for speeds that are not published.
Hell, we take their word for displacement everywhere but Bonneville, and i trust the LSR folks. :thumb:
-
Just had an email back from Jack, the 255mph was Woodbridge 2008 on a mile with timing gear :D

thanks, Tinkerbell!!! :thumb:

No problems, will email him a link to the list when you've updated it :tu:

Just had an email back from Jack, the 255mph was Woodbridge 2008 on a mile with timing gear :D
Somebody went over 255 MPH
over4 years ago, and
(even with the internet)
we never heard about it ?
Just askin'..................
Love to see the meet results.
-
Just had an email back from Jack, the 255mph was Woodbridge 2008 on a mile with timing gear :D
so that 255 in 2008 would be the Woodbridge Track record? (for 1 mile?)

Karl, you list Carl Francis as "1000cc" at 230, but omit the "1000cc" from Don Haas @ 239.

Karl, you list Carl Francis as "1000cc" at 230, but omit the "1000cc" from Don Haas @ 239.
I believe the only 1000cc comment should go to the fastest speed. Maybe we should do the 600cc and thats enough. Which I believe is James, bike built by Paul Powel (may have spelled that wrong and can't remember James' last name right now??
And again, lets be careful here so we don't start cluddering the list up with a bunch of stuff (NO fastest... yamaha, kawi..., pink bike on a thursday moring...)
Bill
-
WRONG, sorry
James Hight (real nice guy), per ECTA2012 rule book = 194 in 650 class. I would have bet money he went over 200 with a 600. He did it with the 750, but thought he did it with the 600 also.
oh well,
Bill

That was added by Tom way back when I think I was in the top 10 lol
oh how time flys 6 years later im 30 something lol
I asked him to add 1000cc to belittle all the Busa's out there going slower lol
To give them some motivation too
I think all bikes should have the cc's actually so one can compare to another bike of the same displacement
but it really doesnt matter to me if its there or not
it's not like there "real" records anyways

It's bike record, not just over all record. So Dean still has it.

OK, but since bikes are faster than cars in the mile, it's usually the same thing.
While I'm here burning bandwidth, here's the ECTA schedule for 2013:
April 27-28
June 8-9
July 6-7
Sept 28-29

dragged many Nitrous bottles on the pavement,
and stayed true to the nitrous path.
Your name will be forever in that list

BTW... Instead of getting back in line, I waited at the finish line to see Ransom's next pass after the 230...only for him to eat SIX cones!!! I have a picture of him returning to the pits with a piece of one stuck in his right fork leg! :hys: A little too aggressive with the spray me thinks...
I'm also going to miss being right underneath Mark Moisan on the list...
And a huge congrats to you Ransom! You are the MAN!

I am traveling to Loring, away from my laptop where I keep the 200+ list.
I'll update when I get back.
BTW: Colt Bateman NA pass at Loring last July...
I didn't add that NA 230-Mile pass bc I didn't have the ticket but Tim Kelly (race owner) provided FB with the run data from his timing computer 230.446, so i'll add him

Now a little secret that I learned from my earlier days watching a true master run at Maxton. My 230 run was actually a "semi-shakedown" run testing out my progressive system where I rewired it the afternoon before. That run was "straight down the track". The next run, to get a little more speed, was suppose to be a "parabolic" run. Because I turned up the progressive a bit, the front got light just before I started my turn toward the center of the track and I ended up going straight into the left cones. Don't want to do that again.

Ransom:
Over time, some of us develop a "refined eye"
for what is truly a "significant record" A trick I
learned from Warner Riley in the 70’s, about when
Warner entered the Bonneville 200 MPH Club
(in 1971) on an old (60's) Ironhead Harley Sportster.
Of the thousands of records I have seen set in
my 40+ years in the sport, there are very few I
would consider “significant.”
Yours was one of the significant ones !

BTW: were any of those ole parts I sent on yr bike?
-
Thanks, that is a sweet place to be, under two women, on the list i mean.
Let me think, there is the Penske shock in place, and tank cover plate, maybe something else too. I have used some of them in my streetbike and in couple friends bikes. There is also parts from Sportbikeryder, RCC Richard and few other guys here and lots of new parts from Schnitzracing. Most of the aftermarket parts come from US, there is just not too many European manufacturers for busa-parts. I think my conrods are Chinese, and they failed today :(

I was fortunate to watch this run from the staging lanes.
Ransom's run was smooth, straight and powerfull.
It was also a little "different."
This man can really "think"
while over 230 MPH.
I won't tell "the secret" but there was one,
and Ransom proved he understands
the REAL questions of Nitrous !

i'll update the list when it seems like most new info is posted. :thumb:

Yes, I purchased the bike a long time ago with that exhaust. The bike started it's life as a Carpenter Package bike.

Fantastic result Ransom. Congratulations. Awesome achievement!

Rasnsom. were you the one filing your sprocket out on my table?

Rasnsom. were you the one filing your sprocket out on my table?
Kinda, yes. Mark Dotson was helping me, he was the one actually filing. I was working on other things with the bike, while he was trying to fix my "new" Vortex sprocket.

I like the six cone stickers on the side of the bike...
Ransom. Please do not become an "ACE" !!! :hys:

As many of you know, i've turned from LSR bikes to building a droptank NA 383ci V8 Lakester for Bonneville this year. in 2014 we'll be happy to hit 200mph, but once it proves it's stability, 2015 might be a whole different game.
Thus, I've asked my true pal and TFA charter member, Ryan Ostergard (osti33) to take over maintenance of the over 200 list.
WELCOME TO RYAN!!!!

FYI members, none of these SG posts were modified by any Admin, we can assume it's SG reaction to having his negative posts removed from a for sale thread.

Thanks for all you've done maintaining the list Karl. I'll do my best to keep it accurate and up to date.

Thank you. I appreciate the opportunity to give a little back to the board that has helped me so much over the years.
I know it won't be a lot but I'm still glad to help out. :tu:

Anybody have any objections to splitting this post after the records? It's getting kind of long at 32 pages. We would still keep all the posts in a new thread entitled "Replies to STANDING 1.0 MILE, OVER 200 LIST".

No objection from me
