Title: front brake drag
Post by: TT on December 19, 2014, 07:47:20 PM: i rebuilt my front calipers, replaced the pads and new rotors the brakes seem to have some drag to them, ( they are on the snug side ) what is normal amount of drag?
i havent riden it yet so nothing is beded in

i get about 3/4 of a turn out of the wheel when i spin it

Post by: FlatlandBusa on December 20, 2014, 10:19:37 PM: If the brake locks up with pressure on the lever then immediately releases with the lever and only has a little drag you should be ok. Most pads seem to have a little more drag until they are bedded to the rotors.

It most likely will loosen up when ridden a bit, but keep a eye on it for the first few miles to be sure the pads are not overheating from drag, as if they get too hot your braking will get soft.....

Locked up on me completely. .
I removed steel backing plates on the pads. ..
My rotors aren't floating either the buttons are seized up which is creating friction..

well i,d have to mount my snow tires and my tire chains are on back order so i guess ill have to wait

Ya, I have the same problem here, studded tires would be needed to keep it upright.
