I getting ready to shorten my forks internal. My question is when making the spacers. How long do I make them to keep a 2'' ground clearance?

having 2" ground clearance is going to be up to your specific bike setup.
Measure the bike now, and measure how much fork you have sticking out.
Put a front end strap on the bike and pull the front down until you get the ground clearance you want. Measure how much fork you have sticking out again.
The amount of spacer that you remoce and put back on teh other side is the amount that the fork will shrink, in this case, shoot for the difference in the two form measurements.

K, thanks. Great information, but unfortunately I have already disassembled the front end. I'm getting ready to tear down the forks. I will be guessing at this. I'm going to make spacers in 3 sets with o.a.l. being 1.75, 2.00 & 2.25. I'm leaning towards the 2.00 length. Hopefully, it isn't too much.

One more question.what is the factory spacer? I don't see what looks like the pic. I have 01-01-02 gsxr 1k forks.
Please help. This is the last step that I need to do.
