Hey all you guys, especially east of of the Mississippi you need to get your Bikes and Cars to Loring. If you want to see how fast it will Go Loring is the place. It is the best paved track in the country, no question. The weather is great. We have never had really big winds, like all af the other paved tracks. The people running it are great, the are very accomadating, as long as it doesn't compromise safety. You say it is too far. It is 2500 miles for me. If I wasn't so damn old I would make all the meets. Hell if I had a third driver I would manke all of them. You Spent a zillion dollars building your bike and you don't to spend the bucks to go to the best track in the country. If we don't get behind Loring it is going to go away. Each meet there are a few less competitors. Get your butts up there!!

Well said
Absolute pleasure to meet you. I am glad you had a good time
-
Good to meet you too! This was my third time and not my last. If World of Speed does not happen I will be back in September.
-
Its an AMAZING race track! good to see everyone that was there. Im very happy with the results of my new bike, having some teething issues, but i expected a few things to pop up with the new build. I cant complain about the drive, Fred youre a beast. I have a day vs your 3.
-
OK Fred, you convinced me, and I'm tired of dressing up for Bonneville and getting stood up. I'm signed up for Loring, hoping for good conditions. Dean

When are these events?

When are these events?
The next Loring event is September 4-6, 2015. Labor Day weekend.

I am waiting for word on WOS. If they call it off on 1 Sep. I dont think I am up for a 2500 mi. dash to Loring. If they cancel before the 1st I will be there. Are you going to run naked?
-
I was trying to wait for WOS, but needed to finalize plans. I will run naked, gotta change a few things back to asphalt. Hope to see you there
-
count me in Fred if you have room in the subruban
-
I always have room for you Johnny!! Had a good report on the salt yesterday. Odf course one little shower and we are toast.

Hey,
Just want to give a shout out to all people at the July event. Especially Joe, Tim, Josh, Jim, Dave, Martha, The other Joe and all of the fine people that I met at this event. It was my first time here but I felt like it was family. Without most of the disfunction. :hys: Thank you all for making this one of my life events. The incredible camaraderie and helpfulness from so many people was unbelievable.
Thank you,
Jack :D
May the speed be with you!

Hey Fred, Monte posted that the USFRA will announce the meet status on August 28. I'm hoping for the best, but I think the chances aren't great.
Here's "greenie" in 2015 colors and set up for asphalt. Hoping for a dry Loring meet.

Dean I did see Monte's post. I am glad they are going to make the call before the first. If it is cancelled on the 28th that will give me time to get to Loring without killing myself. The long road trips and short time to get there are tough for this old man  I am going to put my best MPS bodywork on this weekend for Loring. If we go to Bonneville JC will be riding the 1350, I am not entered. We will see you somewhere sometime soon!!
Your bike is looking good. Rigid? Water tank, no radiator?
-
Sounds good Fred, looking forward to seeing your bike haul ass. Hope you and Cheese can make it. Is this the bike?

Yup, rigid rear and no radiator. Big weight penalty, but I'm hoping the aero benefit is worth it.
-
That is the bike but not the bodywork. I have never run my best bodywork on the pavement. Well I had it on at Loring the year that Bill ran 311. I made one half ass run and took it off and ran naked.
-
Cool, do you have a pic, and would you mind posting it?
-
I found one. I emailed it to you. I will try to post it here
-
WOW thats big. If you look next to me that is Jenn looking at JC on coppertop, RyanO, I think Helena, Karls wife and some of Karls bunch. Texas well represented. :hys:
-
Yep, Jim Gilnack in there too I think.
Fairing looks great Fred, should make a difference compared to the stuff you ran at Mojave. Has it been in a wind tunnel?
-
No wind tunnel. Ran a 235 at Bonneville with my 1350 motor. Hoping to run faster than that at Loring. :bike: I ran 234, at Loring, with the bodywork in the pic you posted
-
Dean, I am looking at your pic of greenie and am wondering how big that gas tank is and who made it?
-
The tank is about a gallon and came with the prostreet subframe. Not sure who made it. Ended up fitting well in that spot, allows me to tuck my knees in a bit.
-
Is it a metal tank?
-
I am going to have to look harder I have been trying to find something like that ever since I saw Ransom 's tank.
-
Its aluminum. Should be easy for a local welder to fab for you. Look on ebay for "surge tank" , some shops market there and will make smal tanks to your specs.
-
Hi Fred, how good was this fairing compared to the older, stockish version ?
-
I think that fairing is very good. I have never had it in the wind tunnel. I ran 235mph with my little 1350 motor. I used it a couple of times on my big motor bike but never had a good track. I plan to run it at Mojave and Loring next year. My other stocker fairing is a little messed up after Colorado. :hys:
