I'm getting ready to build a motor and can't decide what size. I'm looking at 3 options 1441/1507/1535. I know hp depends on combination. What are the gains I'm looking at between the three? (Hp and torque number everything being the same in a perfect world) What are some of the draw backs of running a weld up crank?

What are you going to use thebikefor? Street or track.
-
99% track 1% in an off chance someone wants a friendly street race. :D It will be a trailer queen.

I'd say go for the Carpenter 1630. I know one or two folks that have them (Hi Fred) and they are f'ing fast.
-
I have an "old" style Carpenter head and 1657cc. It runs OK!! :hys: The newer Carpenter head, 1635cc, make more HP than mine.
-
You are right I'm sure it flies but i'm on a budget and I mostly bracket race with the occasional heads up race with some local guys for very little money. Really wondering was, is thousand dollars to stroke a crank worth the money?

I Don't know what they charge, but Marine Crankshaft is the only place to have stroke your crank.

probably the cheapest HP you can buy for a well developed motor...
