It does not cost a dime to set up your own front fork suspension - just follow the suggestions on the literature you were directed to above.
If you're really serious, I would recommending sending the forks out to "Traxxion Dynamics". I have had great results with their work in the past and I think I am gonna have Rodney send mine out to them while the bike is in little bits and pieces this winter. They take the stockers and completely redo everything, springs, dampening, oil, rebound, seals, all of it and you get a professional set of front shocks back set for your weight. Nice to have. In addition to a good rear shock, of course,..........stocker goes in a box on the shelf in the garage.

Yes, mine was a grand. From Brock's. It is sold as a drag shock but is perfectly suitable for the street and has a remote reservoir. Easy to adjust. Works great with an extended swingarm...........and will come with the proper spring for your "suited" riding weight.

Never used Traxxion but GP Tech is close to where I live so I used them, face to face is important to me. They tune the suspensions of some of the top privateer road racers in the county. They machine most of their own valving at their shop. I have 2 sets of suspension done by them, one I use on the street and another dropped 2" I use at pavement events. The street set I could tell as soon as I rode the bike in my yard, no more bottoming of the soft fork and no more feeling like I'm being paddled by the stiff shock. With the lowered set I have been bucked out of the seat more than once at Mojave at the dip at the 3/4 mile mark and the bike ran straight as an arrow, never wobbled.
You can't go wrong with either because they both have had great success racing and also support the racing community.

I have to agree, both are "top dogs" in their work and quality. I would just go with the one that is closest to you. In my case, I was so pleased with how my little '98 ZX9r responded to their overhaul of my front end, I would not hesitate to use Traxxion Dynamics again. I am sure, either would be fine.
