How can I get my stroker running cooler ? I've got engine ice in it now but, I'd like to get it to run a bit cooler if I can.
-
Back off the throttle a lil bit

Dual fans

Dual fans
Ahh , now there's a idea! Is there a mod for this ?

Not a option ! :hys:
-
Get a gen2 fan. They have duals. May be easier to get a complete radiator with fans

use evans waterless coolant

This always works, along with duel fans, and I know I will hear about this but IMHO eng ice, wetter water, and most all of that coolant additive crap is snake oil, that does no better job than PEP BOYS antifreeze/coolant, you said your running a stroker, with much higher compression? if so this is where your heats coming from, aside from two fans there is not a lot you can do a bigger radiator would hlep but thats tough to do on a Busa, I did see one once with a small radiator added on and mounted to the swingarm nice job looked good

engine ice and muzzy fans can be thrown in the garbage as far as im concerned
when i turboed my gen1 it ran hotter when i installed a water to air intercooler it even ran hotter due to the heat exchanger covering a third of the radiator, this past winter i installed a gen 2 radiator on my gen 1 and i cant believe how cool this thing runs i can ride on a 100 degree day and it stays cooler then when it was stock with no turbo the gen 2 rad has 12 more tubes in it and it will hold about a pint more coolant, probably one of the best things i ever did to my bike and it was an easy fit for me anyways

Is this a direct fit ?
-
yes it is, i had to use gen2 upper & lower hoses, and i had to use i believe a 1/4 to 5/16 hose adapter for the hose that goes to the back of the thermoustat housing , but im not sure how a stock oil cooler fits since im turboed i use a smaller oil cooler that came off a honda 750, but in all it fits like it belongs and youll be amazed at how much cooler it will run, i can sit in traffic all day with no problems
-
forgot to mention i wired the left fan to the stock plug and i installed a toggle switch and wired the right fan with fuse to the batt so i can kick it on at any time
-
That sounds like a plan . Thanks ! :thumb:
