Title: Back on a hayabusa ... TIME FOR WINTER BUILD...BAD NEWS FOR ME 02/09/2018
Post by: BLU88 on September 12, 2016, 04:19:04 PM
First let me say I have the best wife in the world. We also have 2 Harley baggers and a 2015 Indian Classic. I had said I would like to buy another bus and she said then let's get one. So today we picked up a 2013 BUSA with 2299 miles on it 😊

BLU,

Which shift kit did you get?I've been kicking my own ass ever since I let my Cycle-Tek C02 kit go with my last bike and can't decide on what to go with now.Definitely want another CO2 with a small bottle to fit in the tail(I got the 2"-6" Evil arm but no bottle bracket, with mine only set at 4" over I may have enough room to mount a mid-size bottle on the arm)but with so many kits now on the market(MPS has a shit load)I don't know which one to go with.Tempted to try out the auto-shift option but don't know how well it works.

Thanks bro,
Jeff

Pipe looks great bro,how is foot clearance with your foot on the peg?I think you'll like your Evil arm, great people to deal with and fast(only took about a week to get mine after ordering). Can't beat the price either, mine was $660 shipped and included chain guard, new bearings(installed),chain slider, powder coating, etc.Have put over 1,000 miles on mine so far(including some pretty hard bumps with my 240 lb. ass on it)and seems solid. :thumb:

What I like is the factory tail still looks really good ~ and the farther you go back, you'll need a stickier tire .  .  .

Is that the 14" or 20" megaphone(I can't tell from Brock's site, looks like the same photo is used for both),and did you have to relocate your oil filter or do you have to pull off the exhaust to change filter?

I really like that small underbracing, didn't see it on the Evil website only the standard large hoop which I don't care for(guess I should've asked when I ordered as I've seen it in the past on some of their arms but thought it was no longer available).

Guy I know from our local track had the lo-profile underbracing and I really liked it , originally I was gonna go with an 8-12 over arm .. I had to go with a 10-14 over arm to get the lo-profile underbracing. Which was ok cause after talking to my wife I liked the idea of the extra arm length for when I go with a big shot of nitrous 👍🏾

that is the next big purchase i have to make .. debating between the penske , jri or the brocks dragshock.

will have to do some research between the 3 ..

Well,I managed to get the ram mounted without screwin' things up(every 1/4-1/2 turn I was waiting for the tap to snap off in the hole ).Think I'm going to go with the 9oz. bottle mounted to the arm,not a lot of room in the stock tail even with a 4oz. bottle(including the regulator, etc.)with the PC,etc. back there.

how do you plan on mounting the 9oz bottle  to the arm??
on the ram if you take some black duct tape and wrap it around it  .. will black it out some and just put the cycle tek sticker back on ... did that on my last one and you cant tell its duct tape unless you are all up on it ...lol

He's got plenty of room on the brake rotor side ~ and the arm only moves up & down a little bit .  .  .

Will mount it vertically with a hose clamp to the arm where the cross bracing attaches to the lowering links.Test fitted it/sprayed the bottle a matte black to match the arm, frame, etc. last night and looks like it should work out just fine. :thumb:

A quick mock up,used a couple strips of adhesive backed foam to guard against bottle to metal vibration and a 3"-4" stainless hose clamp(which I may shoot some paint on).Have plenty of room to turn bottle on/off,about 1.5" clearance from chain and about 3" of clearance from undertail to top of on/off knob on bottle(I have the shock spring cranked down to about 1" of sag with my fat ass[234 lbs. this morning and on the way down] on the seat ).

thanks for all the positive comments.. def a labor of love..

also have to say thanks to some good freinds out there that helped me tremendously, from putting parts on the bike when i was sick with pneumonia .. to pulling the motor out and putting is back in and tuning it for me.
and to the most important person ...... MY WIFE.. for enjoying the same things as i do and pushing me to do it again.

i am most def. happy with the turn out.. now it is my turn as a rider to put some good times down, and see what a big guy can run.  i am down to 255 and hope to get to 245 lbs by race season.

Put a class III hitch on my old Wrangler this morning(rack will be here this afternoon)and of course it fought me to the death on every fucking nut and bolt(8 off and 10 back on).Bet the asshole engineer who designed the OEM bumper is still laughin',bastards couldn't have used captive nuts on the inside(would rather you dislocate your damned fingers trying to get the bitches up in there)so what should've been a 1/2 hour job ended up taking 2 1/2.  :uploaded_shooting:

I figure about all that thing(Jeep)can handle is haulin' a dirt bike. :lol:The rack did come with a ramp, just got the aluminum one from Black Widow.

http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle-carrier/p/AMC-400/

Just posted a few pics of the toy in Bike Talk, damned thing depleted my little cash stash in a hurry($2700 for the bike,$800 on some new gear,$350 for the hitch and rack,$200 for a kick stand and tie downs, and probably another $800 or so when I drop it off next week for tires, suspension, etc.),I'm broke as a motherfucker now bro.

Gonna take the Busa out in a few minutes, been a couple of weeks.

bike has been down since the last post.... sent it back to the engine builder and have been pretty disappointed with him. he had the bike for about a month trying to figure out what is the problem with the bike. i got the bike back and it is now worse that ever. wont even make a pass or get off the line at all.. like no power or torque at all.  Original reason i took it back is the bike overheated on me .. and i knew something was wrong.

when i picked it up ... i got from him "it is now running perfect on motor".. that was a lie. it runs like shit.

to be a professional motor builder / tuner / bike builder.. i think its bull shit to not be able to figure it out especially with all the money that has been paid to said builder..!!!

over the winter i will tear the bike apart and get it figured out with the help of some freinds.... once again just disapointing when you  pay a shop or builder for a service and they cant or WONT FIGURE IT OUT.!!

Not gonna mention the shop or builder but just highly disappointed... shame the bike has all top shelf parts on it.

Been down that road before with my stage 1 turbo bike and it's been setting up now about 4 yrs...Tons of money sunk into it and it never ran right...The spring of '18 I may get motivated enough to do something to get it right or part the bitch out...I could never do a person the way some people do others, to damn scared of the consequences...

think imma put the busa back to stock and sell the busa. just been a headache bike... part all the go fast parts.

ill put up a list of what i have once it is back to stock or stockish.

just mad / sad all at the same time. really disapointed in those that have worked on the bike from the engine builder and others. almost think it was done on purpose.

you live and you learn. ill get another bike soon.
