Above are the names of the riders (and sponsors)
that are the fastest sit-on riders in the world,
no streamliners.
One (1) listing PER PERSON.
Unless otherwise listed,
their single fastest speed
(Lifetime)
Bonneville is flying start
Some are ¼ mile standing start.
Track lengths include: ¼ mile, ½ mile, 1 mile ,
1.3 mile, 1.5 mile, distance not recorded and
Bonneville style unlimited distance.
Racing surfaces include: asphalt,
concrete, dirt and salt.
**(The Finnish speeds were run on a track
with a maximum racing length of
about 1.0 mile, but some racers used
less that that length to achieve their results.)
It is apparent from the track listings and dates that
motorcycle LSR (Land Speed
Racing) is now a true international sport.
When will we see Japan, China, Brazil
and the return of Russia ?
Thanks to PiPPi of Sweden for the Drag information.

Thanks to Speedduck for the Finnish results.
** Conditional results, see below
iB::Aihe::Suomen "virallinen" +200mph lista
Mr. Duck lists the results), and gives us the link.
(It is not clear to me if these results are based
on a timing trap, radar, GPS, data or other method,
but we will keep them on the list until
there is a complete clarification)
All speeds listed are OFFICIAL speeds.
No GPS from “individuals,â€
Not all timing organizations use the same
speed measuring equipment.
If you have additions or corrections,
please FIRST PM me, or post.
Ride safe, be lucky and fast in 2017 !

Thanks Ryan and Greg. I'm trying to find as much info and get as much history of that bike (methanol) as possible.

Leslie Porterfield has set records in excess of 240 at Bonneville, her name is not on the list :?
I have heard that number several times,
but I cannot find a mention in any Bonneville results,
either qualifying passes or record runs.
I suspect those speeds are taken from "on board"
data systems, which we do not use for this list.
Can you point my to ANY source for these superb speeds
that comes from some independent source ?

I remember seeing the alcohol bike run at Maxton.
The bike was impressive, but not the driving or the speeds.
The bike was sold, and has changed hands at at least three(3) times,
and - to my knowledge - has never performed up to potential.

I ran on Leslies FIM record in 2012 ,it was around 232, but pretty sure she had a 242 or 243 one way at some stage

I ran on Leslie's FIM record in 2012 ,

a 242 or 243 one way at some stage
The 232 number is pretty well documented,
but I have never seen an independent source
for 242 or 243 mph.
If the bigger numbers are from data,
then they are probably a very
accurate "instantaneous" number.
This list calls for "independent" numbers.............
