Title: 2019 Gen 3 Hayabusa.
Post by: HOS on January 05, 2018, 05:06:04 PM
Bennets are one of the UKs biggest bike insurance companies.

A very interesting read and gives some of the politics around the Euro4 standard and the logic behind waiting until 2019 for the 20th anniversary of the marque.

The zzr1400 finishes this year I believe?
That leaves Suzuki to finish it off where it started with the first Hayabusa the worlds fastest superbike. Maybe.

I just hope the article is incorrect.  If the 2019 Busa only goal is to compete with the ZZR1400; which HOS you are correct, the 2017 is the last year of the 14R, this will be sad.  Kawasaki has moved their "Hyper Performance Street" product line toward 1000cc supercharged bikes that will trounce  a 1440cc Busa at just about anything.

The H2 is certainly a very fast bike but the basic bike is only pushing 200bhp same as the zzr1400.
The H2R is a minority bike imo.

Therefore Suzuki needs to at least match the 200bhp of the zzr1400 but can Suzuki pare down the weight of the GSX1400R to give it an unbeatable power to weight ratio?

SuzukiInc. like all major manufacturers, certainly has the technology to do this so the question is, will they?  The 20th anniversary of the Marc IMO would be the right time.  As for the power to weight ratio, aerodynamics, suspension, etc, F1 cars, arguably the most advanced motorsports effort on the planet, seem to have no problem in improving their power, handling and aerodynamics year after year.  Why not Suzuki?

I hope they come out with a new updated reasonably price Busa that the average enthuses can afford.

I really hope they upgrade the old busa. Suzuki has been lagging behind for too long now, time to get back in front.

Whats the chance of this really happening? Im looking at getting a new Hayabusa and this makes me want to wait till the 2019 model. Would suck to wait for nothing tho.

If you come across something you really like get it. Who knows what Suzuki has planned, would be nice if they would drop hints at what's to come plenty of us would start saving up for it.

The Hayabusa has been a flagship for Suzuki ! I got a new 14R for what a new GSXR 750 would have cost, I prefer Zuks, I had a new 2002 busa and a new 05 GSXR 1k pure joy ! Getting close on finishing my TT LSX chevelle 6 speed.
Now Suzuki  doesent have $ like Honda, Yamaha, or Kawasaki,  and that GM deal with engines hurt the company years ago, If the next Hayabusa doesn't make a leap like the 99 and I'm talking 220hp I'm done. I will find a clan Gen 1 or 2 bone stock, put a gen 1 block on, and a stage 2 kit, and call it a day,  the 14R can take me for normal rides, and when the superman signal goes up the turbo will come out to fight crime ! :afro: :uploaded_shooting:

In this article, their inside source says that the Hayabusa will be a 1440 that will equal the same HP as the 1340 engine due to Euro 4/5 emissions.   :crap:

I read that article and others. I personally like the style of the supposedly leeked white one on the supposed leaked Japanese Moto Magazine. Its got some pretty awsome mean looking head light style.

I think now that Kawasaki are finishing with the 14 this year, it would be timely and also pretty smart/cool of Suzuki to step in and finish the whole debate by dropping in a last minute Gen 3 Hayabusa.
The last of the ultra fast normally aspirated bikes?

From the Bennets link I gave:

Really? Because Kawasaki is already selling the 2018 ZX-14'S. I saw one at a dealer last week.
I don't think they would get rid of the 14r unless there's something I don't know.

Just looked on the Kawasaki website (USA), no 14r listed for 2018.

Suzuki AMT patent:

http://www.motorcycle.com/mini-features/suzuki-developing-semi-automatic-transmission-for-the-hayabusa.html

"We’ll have to wait to see if/and when Suzuki introduces a new Hayabusa, and whether it will use this semi-automatic transmission system. The current model will no longer be allowed to be sold in Europe after Dec. 31, 2018, so we could see a replacement during the fall motorcycle show season as a 2019 model. Incidentally, 2019 will represent the 20th anniversary of the Hayabusa, so we can expect other significant changes for a new model."

You are correct sir!   That wasn't there a few weeks ago.  and I didn't realize that Kawasaki considers the 14r in the exact same class as the 10rr  :wacky:

What if the new transmission is for a bike with higher hp, when you turbo a Hayabusa you haft to mod the transmission right? The competition  is coming a new BMW 2019 1000rr is coming, New H2sx is here. Let's face it the younger generations of people are in to play station's  etc, I'm 47 and want to buy and see more hp out here, there are new hellcat, demons, New ZR1 coming , ZL1/1LE, GT500 coming.(at the rate car performance is going there going to out perform sport bikes, the demon is close in a 1/4 mile to a bone stock big bore bike)
They are not flying off the floors, but there are people buying them, Suzuki needs to drop the hammer one more time. Somebody getting my $ Will it be Suzuki with a supebad Hayabusa turbo ? Or a new 700/800 hp sports car, I prefer the bike.
