Title: clutch mod
Post by: Acesand8s on May 02, 2004, 11:45:31 PM
Looking to purchase a clutch mod but I'm not sure which to get.  Found an "ultra lite" clutch mod but it didn't give a good description of what it does.  I know it helps with acceleration, my question is how?  Does it make it possible to launch at higher rpms without locking and spinning the tire?  Is it a must for the strip?  What kind of effect will it cause to daily riding?  I am not smart when it comes to mechanics so please put it in lamen's terms.

The clutch mod helps with the back torque problem.

Also the mod requires less energy to be rototed. The additional energy no longer required to rotate the weight of a standard Clutch Mod can now be used to push the bike forward..

I am also wondering is this recommended to someone who is just going to ride a near stock motorcycle for fun?

Thanks,
Mark

if you're just going to ride it on the street there is no need for one.

I have one due to drag racing it every weekend.

what rpm are you able to launch at without the tire spinning?

Any rpm - just depends on how much you want to slip the clutch !!!
