Title: What do I need to make 210HP?
Post by: Style on July 18, 2005, 04:43:43 PM
I have an 04 Busa with the full BDE system...what do I need to do to make an all motor 210+ HP on pump gas with daily driver reliability?

A decent wad of cash that you are willing to part with.

Is it the combustibility of the paper that produces the HP?  Is a $100 bill more oxygenated than say a $5?

probably the cheapest route to 210rwhp, on pump gas, with reliability would be a shot of juice....

I'd really like to make 210HP without juice first, then maybe add a good nitrous system later.

a good 1397 setup

Take your stock setup get it tuned the best you can,get a n20 system and get another map made so you can have 150-77 n/n and with  the push of a button pick up another 50-60 hp and still have reliabilty of a stock motor at all times till you push it.

Ditto...  My 1397 makes 196hp on 93 octane pump fuel, a head that has been very lightly cleaned up on the intake side, and little Yosh cams.

I would think a well done up head (like a Carpenter) and more aggressive cams would do the 210hp easily.  I've seen plenty of good examples on here as a matter of fact.

My 1397 that I got from stock mild to wild did the best of 222 on pump gas and 230 on good gas (no not nitromethene  ) and I got a 40 shot on it.I think with the nitrous and pump fuel it was like 258 or so on the dyno :thumb:

I have not ran the new combo yet I had a Turbo and went to this new combo and have not been able to run it yet as we ran into a little snag with somthing on the bike and havent finished it yet.But Gainsville is my home track and Jax raceways is close by also. Im right in between both either one takes the same amount of time to get to.

1397 with cams and headwork.

George..your head is a little more than lightly cleaned up and the exhaust side has been opened up ..and all the way to the valves on both int and ex!!!

I made over 200 hp with that head!!!!

Didn't notice that the exhaust had been ported...   8)   Seems to be working pretty good regardless.  I wish I could find my missing trap speed, though.

Yep..It use to be pretty smooth in there but the carbon builds up fast!!!

I went 154MPH on a wheelie with that head..same pistons with only 2 intake cams!!

Do you have a full airbox mod and all short stacks??

maybe your MAP or gearing is off>or not hitting your shift points?

Small box mod, all short stacks...  Map seems to be about as good as it's going to get.  Gearing is 17/43 right now, and shiftpoints are dead on (MPS autoshifter).

Is anyone using the Lee's Performance package on their bike?

He says his combo will make 215-225 HP (depending on the weather) on 87 octane with a BDE package and 205 with stock exhaust.

It sounds interesting and tempting.

Everyone saids 1397 are good to go and race and ride at the sametime. Now I gather that these 1397 kits blow head gaskets and spin bearing. Now someone come clean with this 1397 kit and answer this question. Can you ride the bike with this kit everyday to work 46 miles oneway, race it twice a month and keep it running without blowing a motor or blowing a head gasket or spinning bearings?

Someone come clean with me.

A nice set-up 1397 will run like stock only with alot more power :D . I have had mine for 3 years and most my cruising is in traffic and I have never had a problem starting ( 1 battery) or heating up. As a matter of fact, I would about bet your stock bike fan will kick on before my 1397. if you want to bet a quarter let me know, I'll time it and you can do the same :D

ON THE 870 MOTOR I DID ITS 12.6-1
SOMETIMES IT CAN KICK BACK WITH STAOCK BATTERY BUT ONLY WHEN BEAT TO DEATH AT THE TRACK BUT IT STILL GOES 870S ON ALL MOTOR AND SHORT WHEEL BASE WITH STOCK CLUTCHES ETC
AND IS DEPENDABLE ENOUGH  TO BE DAILY DRIVEN

I can't speak directly about a 1397, but I used to commute 110 miles each way to work. I first had an offset bored big block... that didn't last at all. Then went back to a stock block, bored & stroked and haven't had any problems at all. I do run dual batts and lots of upgrades to improve cooling but other than that nothing major. So I would say a well built motor can last.

It  made 209 on MSPs dyno 2 years ago, and 207 on a dyno here in town.( Iowa) so Fuck your 1397s.  So spend your money on those BIG 1397s for the extra 3 HP.... Something is escaping your attention......which is displacement. Mod for mod, the 1397 will always make at least 7% more HP than a stock bore. It is not coincidence that heavily street modded stock bores make around 185 while their big brothers make around 200 SAE, pump gas.

Not angry at all, pretty pleased to tell you the truth.. As far as the cams. Yosh intake, and a stock intake on the exhust side. Belive it or not it can be done, there are alot of guys out there getting 200hp on stock bore.

TMH did a Mega 385's stock bore that made 189hp. So if you add a good ported head to the mix it should get you real close to 200hp.

You never do mention the CR of those Wiseco or whether the cylinder has been decked or the head milled. You also don't mention the fuel used. You do pass judgement on others quickly. Maybe those runs were on crystal meth- that's popular enough out there. God forbid you need over the counter for a cold.

I am not passing judgment just replying to a topic in which you all feel can not be done. 12.1 weisco pistons, .007 off the head, and VP MRX01, I got nothing to hide, unlike you Demon-little bitch - Busa, who hides behind a screen name and talks mad SHIT, So since you know I slide a busa, your can only be a hand full of people, and chances are I have a very good idea who you are but truley could give a shit.

Ok.

You all are as bunch of Morons, I have a 02  busa with slip fit Weiscos, a ported head by a hick from Arkansas, and the intake cam mod. It  made 209 on MSPs dyno 2 years ago, and 207 on a dyno here in town.( Iowa) so Fuck your 1397s.  So spend your money on those BIG 1397s for the extra 3 HP.... This has run 8s with a 200lb rider.....
IN YOUR DREAMS

Wouldn't even bother wasting your time. Got into it once on here about the very bike he is talking about and he wanted me to race him for $$ in GA. if i remember right, after he sold the bike to todd smith. Saw it run with a light weight and it did not touch 8s. Another person watched it run quite a few times and again, never touched 8s. In which case, his excuse was that he wasn't laying all his cards on the table when he ran at whatever track it was he ran at.
