The 1000SS bikes went from 9.19 to 9.96 today...
-
7 bikes and 4 tenths difference??? Sounds like a fun class.
-
I think there were more than 7 bikes - i think about 16 or so were making passes. There was a 10mph headwind that was gusting to at least 15 but the air was in the low 70's / high 60's. ET's seemed to average in the mid 9.20's ...

gnd111,you promised to come up and meet me.Where was you?
-

Dave

I heard! But i saw him go .19 2 times now and he's gonna win it if he keeps that up. Shierts is close but i think this is Rickey's race...
Good luck to you guys!!!
-
:( Wished i was there.

Rickey won the 1000SS, Ken won his class, and Jim made a 5.95 pass on his Top Fuel Incredible Hulk bike. One of the other riders in the top fuel class got blown off his bike at 225mph  and walked away with two band-aides on his arm.
-
The rider got blown off Friday at 218...

And Vince came in second in 1000SS. I'm not certain of the affiliations, but BDE is associated with both bikes..........quite a showing. Maybe Dave O, because he is close to the BDE camp, can elaborate on these relationships/alliances. And I do know that "so called" factory teams do not get truck loads of parts and money.........so there is much individual and team effort; these wins are not purchased through Suzuki's money.
-
Yep - Vince actually came from behind (looked like it from trackside) to be Shierts. I tried to meet up with DaveO but never got to meet him...
-
Track was great at Test and tune.I ran a best of 9.21 @ 152 on pump gas.Had a blast.Still didn't get to meet you Gnd111,guess next year.

I went by the Tsukigi tent a hundred times after i met Darren on Fri but everyone was always busy and the wives were everywhere - i felt like i would have been interupting.
Maybe at Valdosta if i get my N2O setup i can get beat down by Darren..
-
UH-Oh,you do know i will be in that class myself next year.
Been 9.20's with my bone stock motor, wheelbase and pump gas.I can't wait to be 64",spray,etc.Should be a fun class.
We were pitted right behind the Tsq trailor.Mine was the Black/purple 04 with the Arata exhaust.I was the hung over dude just trying to make it through the day.
Actually,i was in staging most of the time.Darren was running 3 classes,i was running, and Jeremy was running Hot Rod crusiser. Then Corey and DJ was in 1000ss as well.i was trying to keep up with everything and everyone.I had on a Performance Psycle uniform shirt and ball cap.
Had a blast as usall, just wished Darren's Gsxr would not have spun another bearing during test and tune.made for a long weekend.
-
I am sure i will be off the bests - but not always the quickest or fastest win. It would have been cool to see Darren NOT redlight so he and Dean could have ran.
-
No doubt.I was just messing with you.the fastest don't always win,and i will probably will not be as fast as you, just messing around.
That was very unusal for him to redlight. But really best chance he had.that other bike was flying. He should have never been running him until the finals anyway. They were the number 1 and number 2 quailfiers. Prostar dropped the ball there, how can the 2 fastest run each other before the finals?
The Kawi guy was a super nice guy also.Everyone in the class seemed like good people. It would have been a good race in the finals though with the Zrx and Darren,no doubt.I looked for the guy on the Kawi to congradualte him,but couldn't find him.Super nice guy.
-
If you've gone 9.20's on all stock internals you got me covered all ready! Dean (kawasaki guy) is one of the nicest people you will ever meet...

Dark,
You are correct...they are affiliated. I worked with both bikes this weekend...and have been since Virginia. They are both setup with loggers(guess by who??) and tuned by myself and Brock.
Vince did run Lee down in the back 1/2...Lee had .015 at the 1/8...and Vince's MOV was .010...CLOSE!! Lee was riding very well also....
They not only finished 1-2 at Gville, and Memphis....they finished 1-2 for the SEASON....nice.
We were not supported by American Suzuki this year....The Woska's had a bike from a dealer....and Brock paid for his from Suzy.
BTW...they had us tear down after the final....to the lower ends...again. Everyone was legal this time. The last couple rounds were close races....Congrats to all.
Gnd...Sorry I missed ya....was a busy one.
