Title: What cams on a 1507cc dragbike busa with lectrons??
Post by: Vrace on November 13, 2005, 01:49:59 PM
I need an opinion.
What cams must be use on a 1507cc busa dragbike with 44mm lectrons and Dyna electronics?
I have webs .415/.395 and the bike lost power over 10.700 rpm. I want power over 12000 rpm.
The bike has the  stock valves on the cylinder head. Oversize valves help for my problem?

I would go with 34mm valves and an intake with at least .431 lift....you might sneak by with a .425... and a duration of around 255 @ .04 or 1mm. Use the current intake on the exhaust. The current set-up cannot keep up.....the window time/area is inadequate. I would suggest that the exhaust valve should be increased by 1mm as well. Get other opinions as well.

244I and 242E, both @ .05. To convert to .04, add 4 or 5 degrees of duration though it depends upon ramp design. The different rod ratio makes the case for the longer intake.
