Title: Big Red - Dailing in New Clutch & Shifter
Post by: Cecil_Stringer on February 26, 2006, 05:14:43 PM
Went down to BMP on Saturday with Johnny & Vic from Exotic Cycle to dail in the Clutch and Shifter.

Only got a couple of passes, but showing signs of progress.

Unfortunately, I still can not lift me leg onto the rear set, so I am not able to ride.

Pass 1 was a shake down... needed more static clutch and less kill on the shifter.

Made a few adjustments and had time for another pass.

Pass 2 was much better... the clutch was spot on and the kill was just about perfect.

With goofing up on the switches, still went 8.8 at 168mph with a 1.44 sixty foot.

They are taking her down to Valdusta, Georgia next week to race in the 64" super street class.

The goal is to break into sub 8.5's and be well into the 170's.

Here are a couple of the worst quality pics ever taken...

So here it is Sunday and Johnny Dorbin is piloting her for me right now.

Took her off the trailer today and went 8.55 at 176mph right off the bat.

This is without the Multistage Lock-Up... Super Street does not allow multistage clutches, so went dropped a 2-stage in there.

The second pass went 8.51 through the 1/4.... getting better.... hoping for a 8.49 or better pass!

It went 5.66 at 137mph through the 1/8th.

The 60' times are not as good with the 2-stage as the multistage... we went from 1.44 to 1.49, but we are getting there!

Gonna take just a little bit more kill out of it and we should be getting pretty close to where it needs to be.

Cool Cecil!!!

Are you going to be in Valdosta as well?

I will not be able to make it... I am finishing Grad School and have class on both Friday and Saturday.

However, I would love to go... Hopefully my bike will do well and someone will snap a few pics along the way.

They shouldn't allow lock up's or sliders in ANY category marked "street"...

That is a good strong bike you got!

Congrats on the numbers...
