Title: '05 pass switch
Post by: nemsis on March 08, 2006, 02:01:10 AM
I'm putting a left side switch housing with the pass button on my '02 Busa that I'm going to use for my nitrous. Anyone know which wires to use from the switch?

Since the housing halves will be apart anyway to install it, try taking a look at the two wires connected to the switch....... :bah:

I forgot to mention it's 20 degrees out side and my bike is buried behind two other bikes and I'm lazy and I'm sure at least 20 people have put one on their bike that can tell me exactly which ones it is  :D

going to use mine as second stage, near as i can tell the pink/silver jumper needs to be removed from the dimmer switch . orange is hot all the time and using the pink/silver will give a circuit +. Splicing into that wire will result in the circuit being hot when the high beams are on .

when ken (2slow2go) and i checked tonight it looked like cutting the red wire with silver dashes and running that wire to your nos is the only way to go. as ken said if you just tap into the red and silver wire you will activate the nos whenever you use your high beams :bah:.
i am using it for the purge on a bike i am doing for someone.

good I don't want to use that button to activate the hightbeam, I want to separate it to use for the NOS only

Thanks  :beechug:

I finally got the bike out to play with the switch and it looks like the solid yellow wire is the one that sends power when you hit the pass button

did you guy's actually hook it up or you just looked at the switch?

ok, i got my housing from ayres today and i chopped into it. i took some pics to help out the masses.

the 2 wires coming from the Pass button are pink/silver and orange/red
(http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a307/bonedust213/P1010494.jpg)

the pink/silver comes out and taps into yellow/silver inside the loom. yellow/silver traces back into the switch and connects to the high beam switch.

i dont have my bike here (hurry dennis hurry! ;) ) so im not sure where to trace the orange/red back to in the bike. i suspect that the plug at the end of this harness (05) is different than the plug on my 01.

OK I finally had some time to play with my bike

so I pulled the switch apart and cut the red wire where it splices into the yellow high beam wire, then  I fished a new wire up to the red wire I cut and now I have +12v in a nice clean package and the high beam still works

ya, i unsoldered the wires and ran new ones so i didnt have any extra connections...im goofy about stuff like that.

for the record, the 01 and 02 bikes have the same plug as the 03-up, the newer bikes just have one more wire running thru them.
