Title: positive battery wire melted!!!

when bike gets hot it will shut off unless throttle is reved and wont start again till cooled. the red battery cable is somewhat melted disfigured. bike sits idle at just under 1.

dude that sucks! happened to me once on another bike i owned. it turns out to be the voltage regulator. when it goes, the only way the bike will stay running is rev the crap out of it to keep it running. when this happened to me it also took out the ignition relay and butch the battery as well. you can check this out by trying to get your bike running and feel how hot the regulator gets. should be hot but not on fire hot. located on left side of storage compartment. you need to remove the tail section of course. good luck and keep that right wrist twisted full.
