the bottom bolt,  we just let it rotate forward.  matt kicks ass with his modding knowledge   the picture with pistons is a pic of the 1397 pistons waiting for the head.

when i left tonight the cams were degreed and all the bolts were in the frame/motor.  maybe one of the other guys will chime in with an update.

Nice...But alot harder to do that way!!........just pop the motor out next time and stuff some rags in there..You don't want those tiny wristpin clips or anything else falling in!!

I don't think it's any harder. That's the way I've done it. You can get to everything on the top end and easily time cams. It also holds the engine steady when torquing head bolts. What is hard is lifting that big lump of metal and getting it place especially if you are by yourself.

we put rags under the pistons when we pulled out the clips  :thumb:  matt had prior experience with fishing a clip out of the oil pan
