Title: Gear position question in Hayabusa 1300cc
Post by: Lotus7racer on November 16, 2003, 11:46:00 PM
I have a turbo Hayabusa powered engine to my Lotus Super 7 race car.
I am trying to put a gear indicator to dashboard. Currently, the
hayabusa only shows "N" neutral light if the gear is in Neutral.
I would like to be able to track 1,N,2,3,4,5,6 gear position.
According to the book, the position switch recieve different resistance for each gear and the ECM understand the gear position.

Can someone tell me how I can track this visually in the dashboard?

Thanks people
Jaime

Somebody on this board has a schematic to build a gear position indicator.  I used to have it ... can't find it now.  If they don't post it here.  Start a new thread asking for a "gear position indicator schematic".

Good luck!

Post a pic or two of your car!  We wanna see!

Do you want a seperate light for each gear, a high gear light, or a digit that displays the current gear number?

Lotus7. The Digi only works with the clutch out. It also is kind of slow. It takes 2-3sec. to figure out which gear your in. Not that great for racein'..........Freddie
