Rotor and stator
« on: April 08, 2007, 06:36:44 PM »
How do you tell the differences on the rotor and stator from 1999 to 2005 Looking for info on this to match up ECM's to the correct year motors. Can you see the differences, the manual doesn't address this problem. Also need a source to tell engine year by the engine number.
Thanks for any help or info you can offer.         Bob

'99~'01 same rotor  ''01 had different ECU from '99 & '00 (all 16 bit)
'02 and up all have 32 bit ECU  although harnesses vary a little with hazard and passing lights added.

So, 2002 and newer all have the same rotor and stator? How can I tell which rotor the engine has in it, if I don't know the year of the engine. Can you see the difference on the rotor or stator? If so what do I need to look for?
Thanks for ANY help,  still trying to match engine, ECM, and harness's to the correct years.

Pull the LHS stator cover off and look at the segmented teeth on the outside of the flywheel..only way to tell quickly.

as for engine numbers Vs changeover to the newer flywheel..only Suzuki USA could help you out with that one I would suggest.

Found out how to tell the difference on the rotors to match the correct year ECM to the motor. The newer Magneto Rotors have 24 minus 2 teeth or notches on the circumference, the older rotors have 8.

32920-24F01 from 1999?

32920-24FA0 from 2001?

32920-24FD0 ??

32920-24FG0 ??

32920-24FK0 from 2005?
