oh yeah i just found that part of that thread. he's probably talking about a complete rear wheel with the tire, rotor, cush, and sprocket. thanks, that does help a little i'll probably be able to figure about the weight difference from that

basically im trying to figure if it's worth using carrozzeria wheels vs stock gsxr1k wheels...

looky looky what i found...
"According to Carrozzerria......the '07 V6 front wheels are supposed to weigh 7.8 lbs and the rear is supposed to weigh 11.6 lbs which would make them lighter than Marchesini forged alum 10 spokes.. OEM stock 'Busa 3 spokes weigh: front 11.5lbs rear 17.0 lbs.  The '06 V6s weigh: front 8.9 lbs rear= 13.1 lbs. "

soooo... if stock gsxr1k wheel wheighs about 6 pounds less than a stock busa wheel... and a stock busa wheel weighs 17 pounds, then a stock gsxr1k wheel weighs about 11-12 pounds.

unless he meant wheel assembly as in just the front and rear wheel maybe with rotors? what do rotors way 2 pounds or so?
17+11.5=28.5+10pounds(rotors,sprocket, cush) = 38.5?? then in that case each gsxr1k wheel would be about 3 pounds lighter than the busa wheel... too much thinking, my head hurts. so a 1k rear wheel by itself would be about 14 pounds then...
and the Carrozzerria's would be about 3 pounds lighter than the 1k wheels in that case. :?

ok, in case anyone else is actually interested in this. i called Carrozzerria. stock 2005 gsxr 1000 wheels are only 1 pound heavier in the front, and 3 in the rear.

That 3lbs when combined with a 520 chain and aluminum sprocket actually is closer to 5lbs off the drive line.
Dividends that keep on giving!!   Probably worth at least 6 hp at the tire.

do corrozerias come with steel sprockets? i dunno if i would want to go with a 520 chain. yeah at 6 pounds on the rear that would make me start considering. but still 3 pounds at just the wheel lighter than stock is not enough to justify me spending 1500 bucks. i mean i know it makes a difference, but at this point it makes a bigger difference to my pocket  :thumb:

You can get steel sprockets but the aluminum ones will hold up pretty good on a street 1k.

I thought the Carrozerras were cheaper than that... like $1200 or so.    $1500 is only a few hundy away from some Marchies or Marvics.
