Scary's Back in Black - LE
« on: May 26, 2007, 12:38:38 PM »
"The Busa Suzuki should have Built!!!"

I bought this '03 LE minus a top end from Thomas Lindemann and have parted mine to do it up Right!

Sato Rearsets

Trac Adjustable Swingarm 0-6"

GSXR1000 Frontend & Radial Brakes

GSXR1000 Wheels

Here is where I am...  Using:

  • my '99 US frame - easier to register in the states
  • GSXR1000 Forks, Brakes & Wheels
  • Ohlins Suspension
  • Trac Swingarm

Everything will be LE Black - GLOSS!!!
Frame & Swingarm too!

  • Chassis is at the Powder Coater's (Goertz in Stuttgart)
  • Body Panels are at the painter's (Joe here in Stuttgart)
  • All Billet Aluminum is at the Anodizers' (via IndySpeedRacer)

Richard at RCC is building me an Intercooled Stage II Turbo - 450 HP  :trb:

The Goal is to keep it looking as Factory as possible... but greatly improved!

Keeping the 1K's - Maybe find another one and do the Beadlock thing again...

I sold everything but the Frame, Turbo Upper I made, CBR-XX Mirrors, 60 profile Fender, etc...
Those are getting the BLACK treatment - Should be back to me in 3 weeks for assembly!

Here is fabing up the lowered Fender to the Gixxer frontend.  I had to lower the rear mounts in order to make it look factory.

Good News - My Painter (Joe) works fast... I didn't expect it for another week or two. :D
I took delivery today of the following:
Fender, Dash panels, CBR Mirrors, Upper, Tank thingys, Tail...

Turbo Upper (my doing)

Lowered Catalyst Fender

Catalyst 4" Over Tail

Now if my Powder Coater works as fast...

The Anodized parts are on their way too.  They were completed yesterday.   :)

Still waiting on a few things to make it look like a Bike...
(I want to install the Motor by dropping the Frame onto it rather than lifting the Motor into the Frame.)

So, I am just re-fitting everything where it will give me the most accessible room.
(Note how much room I have in the Battery Box area now.  Look in front of the Battery for the ECU...)

Along with some new additions; Bellman's Guage Holders, Pazzo Levers, Woodcraft Stator Cover, LED Mirror Mods, etc...

I am using my Busa Trac Raked Triple Tree w/ GSXR1000 Forks, Brakes & Wheels.  To do this:
I am using Antdog's axle spacers and I fabbed Lower Triple Tree Spacers (.020) to account for the 1mm difference in the lower Fork Leg's clamping area.
There's a little more to it, but not a difficult mod...

The guys I use Glass Bead EVERYTHING 1st to ensure good adhesion... and then Powder Coat.
The swingarm was already powder coated, so it had to be removed...

The cost was 210 Euro for all the Powder Coated stuff.
The only thing I did not do was the wheels - The wheels were sanded smooth before hand and done Glossy!  :D
