BMC Air Filter: Race or Standard
« on: June 28, 2007, 03:08:08 PM »
Does anyone know if installing the race version is doable or should I go with the standard.  Already have have a PC III so figured I could get it remapped if it was a big deal going with the race verision.

The race one will not filter dirt as good as the standard one. BMC does not recommend the race unit for the street. Only oil analysis would tell us for sure, but the race version would still allow some dirt to enter the engine. Maybe only a 80-90% reduction from no filter.

The OEM for the Busa is better than most OEM filters. It will flow more air than the K&N and likely the BMC standard. (for at least the first 5-10K miles or so)
