GSXR-1000 2007 revs to 5 K+ when starting....
« on: June 09, 2007, 10:27:05 PM »
and won't drop down, started two days ago every time I start it it jumps to 5 K and stays. Really a pain, killing the clutch coming off stops slow turns etc. Took it to the dealer today (where I got my cowl) and finally got the service manager to come look at it and of course "...wow never seen that before..." he said tuesday he is going to call Suzuki to see if anything like this has been reported. I said to him wha if we just trade out the ECU? or the EFI control so I can RIDE it, damn I hate new toys , last time I bought new was in 1976 an RD400 and that dealer didn't even give me a full tank of gas. Anyone heard of this?

Go to Gixxer.com ( 1000 section) I think a lot of guys have had the same problem there. It was the ECU or somthing like that.

Have a friend that works on all the newer bikes, he had a customer come in with a 07 1K to have oil change and a few other minor problems taken care of, we'll customer started his bike up, motor rev'ed up to 5000 rpm, customer said what did you do to my bike, this was the first  07 1K bike my friend worked on also, and he didn't know what the problem was, so he raised the tank and started to tap, probably now that I read the previous post, was the ICS, started it up and was idling correctly when the customer left his shop, also told him get it to the dealer.

BINGO: If you need more info goto www.gixxer.com quite afew people have posted on this subject, the ICS valve alone has not been done (by dealers) it has always been the t/b's with the ICS included.
