2005 Rev Limiter
« on: July 27, 2007, 05:15:47 PM »
I have a 2005 Hayabusa motor in my Mallock racing car. The rev limiter cuts in at 10200 RPM according to my digital dash connected to the coils.

What should the rev limiter cut in at as 10200 seems too low to me.

The motor has an active TRE, Powercommander, modified air box, race exhaust

1st - 5th gear at 10,800

6th gear at 10,200

Sounds like TRE is not working and the bike either thinks its in 6th gear or has defaulted to 6th gear because gps sensor is unplugged or not working.

Does the GPS sensor work in the bike (Neutral light come on when in neutral etc)

Do you have the clutch by pass switch wired into the harness?..if not the limiter cuts in

I have to admit i don't know as i sent the standard bike harness off to a UK company that removes all the stuff we don't need to use the Hayabusa motor in a race car. I will phone the company now thought to find out. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think the clutch bypass could be the answer. I asked the guy who modified my wiring loom & he says he normally does the mod but can't remember if he did mine. I have taken a pic of the loom so he can look at it but it certainly does not look like the mod has been done.

Thanks for your help.
