Different front tire sizes???
« on: November 29, 2002, 02:22:00 PM »
I asked this before the board crashed - let's try again.  As a different way to lower the front of the bike - has anyone tried a 120/60/17 or 120/65/17 - stock being 120/70/17.

Also, has anyone run a Goodyear slick???? if so, what brand of 18" rear wheel????

I just put on a 60, but I did it give the clearance from my intercooler. Not a huge difference in normal riding. The differenct was 7/8's of an inch total or 7/16's  each side. Just the extra room so that I don't hit my intercooler after those 140mph wheelies.

Ok, then a 60 series will lower the front by 7/16" without messing w/ the forks.

Anybody on the Goodyear Slick???  And the 18" wheel???

You can use a rc components wheel or a pmfr wheel. those are pretty popular. lighter than stock also.

I don't know if Dennis is gonna kick my ass for this but,......we carry those wheels.

I assume Dennis is mostly put out at the people who come on the site and try to sell without answering peoples questions.  Don't think you or most of the other vendor/members are guilty of that.  It's just a matter of sharing common knowledge.
