Let the clutch out and feed in the throttle as fast as traction and wheelies permit.
Get to WOT as quick as possible.
Hang on.

Just take it easy till your comfortable, most accidents that happen on a bike, happen to newbe's when they try to launch too hard, they spin sideways and drop it or they stand it up and run down the track behind it, if it dont go over. just remember, you get alot more traction on the track, even with a shitty tire, just take it easy and find your limits, then go from their, good luck.

Take your time and learn your bike.  Strap and lowered is the best.  I understand that for evey inch you lower you drop a tenth on your time.  If you want you can flip your shifter 180 deg. and have a reverse shift patteren.  Works out great for the drag strip. (1 up and 5 down) no more missed shifts.

In the beginning don't waste the tire with a burnout figure out the lights and track, there are to small yellow lights at the top of the tree top is pre-stage and the second is stage you'll roll the bike up to the line until the front wheel activates both lights. If the blue (courtesy)light between the small yellow lights is on you should only pre stage until your opponent is at least pre-staged as well. If they have a  pro tree all three ambers come on together then green vs 5/10 tree where it will be the ambers one at a time then green. I'd advise staying out of the water and be cautious with the use of the front brake in the starting aera, If you get water or some other crap on the front tire it can get a bit slippery. Forget about the crowd, ride within your limits and have fun. The track is very different compared to the street and takes time to master so be patient. Let us know how you do. Which track are you going to LACR, Carlsbad or Irwindale?

There are 2 simple steps for you in drag racing.
1).Find someone that can ride.
2) Give them the keys.

One more thing don't line up in the center of the lane pick a spot off to one side or the other about where the car tires are launching, less coolant, oil and other residue that way.
