Rev limiter injector shut off
« on: September 13, 2007, 03:53:57 PM »
Anyone know which injector (or injectors) are shut off when the rev limiter is hit?

Tying the ground of a dry kit's solenoid to this injector(s) would seem to be the safest way to avoid spraying when the limiter is cutting fuel.

Using a window switch would be the way to go IMO.

Thanks, Smithabusa.
I have a Schnitz rpm window switch.  Looking to go simple, with a button to activate it.

I thought I read in a post somewhere that the #2 injector gets shut off to accomplish the rev limiting.

but u wouldn't be able to disarm based on that its a pulsed signal when its spraying, on off on off etc

Not sure I'm following you on this.
I think I could "disarm" the system by putting a switch inline with the positive.
I could also put a momentary button inline with the negative so the solenoid would only fire when I depress (and hold) the button.
To compensate for the solenoid only firing when the injector is turned on, I could up the nitrous jet.

Im pretty sure the injectors work like the coil sticks, they get power all the time (coil sticks power are all tied together not seperate).

I agree all the injectors get power all the time.
I think the negative is pulsed (to ground) to fire the injector, if I read (someone else's post) correctly.
If I pick up a switched positive for one side of the n2o solenoid, and grab one injectors negative, it should fire the solenoid everytime that cylinders' injector is fired.
The solenoid should also shut off when the rev limiter is tagged (I hope).

Anywayzzzzzzzzzzz...  I'll probably just hook the solenoid up the ol' conventional way, and through a momentary switch to fire, and a toggle to disarm the system when not in use.

btw, the Schnitz is for sale.  BO, plus shipping.

Thanks for your help Smitha.

Thanks, Smitha.  I'll keep it mind.  Me thinks I'll just do a small shot again (yea, right!)

Ended up at 27PSI for 382 hp 191 torque
HP number seems low for that boost ,
Gonna do a leakdown and comp test this weekend just to be sure nothing is weird

had to make a dump pipe outta mine
gained 31hp
I am autocading out a coupler to fit my can back on for street use

Eric still thinks my PCII is costing me a bit or ridability

Maybe the static compression is a bit lower than you hoped for.
