im sure mac and snap-on do . i already have a nice mac 14mm gauge . i was hoping to get around shelling out another fat wad for a second one . like to have somthing (a moderatly priced one) to get me by while cash is tight .  an adapter would be awsome .
maybe ill just spin one up on a lathe....

the adapter is what i was talking about. no need to buy a new guage. not sure if sears would have one. i'm sure there is a board member here with a company that sells them. maybe joe or someone.

I got the hose from Shnitz.

It didn't have the valve on the end, though (I think I was supposed to buy an extra adapter or something). Anyway, I just gutted an old bike tire for the thread, bored it, epoxy glued it into the end and used the valve from the 14 mm. Hopefully you don't go through that crap.

I got a nice brass adapter that fits my Snap-On 14mm hose at Kragen Auto Parts. I'm sure the tool trucks can all get them as well.

Bill, I have a complete compression gauge set that I will mail to you next week to borrow if you want.  Its got all the connectors and adaptors to fit any spark plug.  There is even a small gauge for small engines.

let me know.

I think Sears (Craftsman) has an adapter in their Tool Catalog.  Not sure whether it is stocked in all the stores.

boy do i feel silly...
i was looking at my gauge and noticed the 14mm end was screwed on . what thread was holding it to the hose ? 10mm
theres no schrader valve in it so i have to just watch how high the needle bounces on the compression stroke but i was basically just seeing if i had a valve hanging open . my turbi bike has a consistant backfire through the exhaust... its bouncing to 160psi and its somewhat low compression (10:1 and it has .020 under the block).

jay , does the adapter you sell have the schreder valve and how does it connect to the gauge exactly ? price maybe ?
surley its ok since im asking

Bill;
The end of the hose has a male quick disconect that plugs into our leakdown tester. There is no valve in it.
On the fitting it says, PCC SERIES D.

You can find it here;

If this gets me booted, friends, it has been nice chatting with you. See you at Psychobike
