Rossi or Stoner?
« on: October 13, 2007, 11:29:16 PM »
Who's gonna be the MotoGP champ this year?  I haven't been keeping tabs on the total points race, but I'm thinking Stoner on that V4 Ducati might end up kicking Rossi's ass.  :x

Stoner won the championship in the last race, in Motegi.  It was a crazy race, with riders changing from wet tires to dry as the track dried out.  Stoner deserved to win, rider+bike+tires.

Crap, I missed that race !!  So it sounds like Stoner sealed the championship since there would be no way for anyone to get enough points even with 1st place finishes in all remaining races.  Cool ... Stoner and Ducati deserve it.

It would be interesting if Ducati made a street bike with that V4 engine in it.

I'm hoping Haga takes the SBK title.

I have a feeling that this is some kind of running gag.  Ok, Toseland won the championship at Magny-Cours even though Haga won both races there.

Alright, let me start one.  I wonder if Ben Spies will beat Mladin for the AMA crown.

Umm, there is one: http://www.ducati.com/en/bikes/my2007/FamilyPage.jhtml?family=DesmosediciRR

It aint cheap though.

Nice ... looks like it's something new to the public from Ducati ... scheduled for production in Oct 2007.  377 lbs dry with 200 HP V4 ... nice !

"PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE
Reservations for the Desmosedici RR have been accepted via the official Ducati dealer network since 2 June 2006 and will continue to be taken until 31 December 2007. Production will begin in October 2007 and first deliveries will be made to 999R owners who placed their Desmosedici RR order before 30 September 2006. Production of all remaining orders will be completed by December 2008."

I see no price listed ... I'm sure it's at least $30+ K.

You are looking at 65 large for a desmosedici.
Aprilia is bringing out a 1000cc V4 for about a third of that.

MOTOGP,......... BORING!!!!   i was disappointed this years moto-gyped,.. nothing against stoner/ducati, or bridgestone,.. but i  like many others have no interest in every race done by lap 2-3!   the leader, any leader by 20-30 secs,. is not interesting,.. moto gyped us race fans this year,.. i'll be a maybe watcher next year!
